The wierd thing is he's making a good economic point. The wealthy channelling their money out of the country doesn't benefit an economy at all. But increasing consumer spending? That actually can and has worked.
and also the politicians making more cuts towards the ones in need and upping the age of retirement and making the unemployed and disabled suffer more coz they have less.

Basically the reasons why the Greeks didn’t want to pay it back was, they felt that it was largely EU regulation and private business that did the damage, so why should the state have to pay, especially when the stipulation of the bailout was that the Greek state would need to sell off more of itself into private and EU hands that were largely the cause of the problem in the first place and would only ultimately Concentrate wealth and power into the same people who crashed the economy. That’s a very oversimplified version of why they didn’t want to pay it back. They considered bringing back their pre-EU currency, but one of the stipulations to join the European Union was to handover your printing presses for your old currency to the union to have it destroyed so there was no turning back. It’s the same with IMF bailouts. Sure, they will give you money, but they will tell you exactly what legislation needs to be passed and assets that you need to sell off so that your economy basically gets raided by American companies. These are largely deals with the devil.

Hi KB. I think the comment you missed near the end was the guy on the grand a week dole (unemployment benefit) suggesting to his girlfriend that she "gets her tits done" ie has her breasts surgically enhanced. It is a tricky accent but if you persevere you will be richly rewarded.
You think he's got a thick Scottish accent! I used to work with a man with a thick Scottish accent and when he got excited about an issue, he would have to write down what he was trying to express. I love Scottish people and Kevin Bridges is a genius.

We, in Scotland, don't understand when Americans don't get his accent which is quite toned down for wider audiences. It isn't actually, all that broad. The Glasgow accent (which he has) is heavily influenced by Scots, Scottish and Irish Gaelic plus many multi cultural influences over time and, at full throttle is a joy to behold. A relative once told me of an incident when she witnessed a verbal altercation between two women (over a misbehaving child) . One of the Women's daughters (at the height of the altercation) shouted " caw er a hoor, Maw afore she cries you wan " roughly translates as........call her a whore Mother before she calls you a whore. Needless to say, they were back to being best friends the following day.........all part of the rich tapestry of life ,lol.
Britain did not pay off it's final nistallment of a war loan America gave us until 2006 nearly 56 years after we got it (was given in 1950) to help the UK avoid Bankruptcy after the cost of the war . So Greece is not the first to be enslaved by the banks and foreign government for debts owed on money loaned . Greece went into debt five times ,and try hard not to pay it back also bribe the eu union etc as to not pay it back but banks still borrow money to them it seems.
If you don't know what he's talking about when he says People on the dole It's a UK slang term for on social security benefits, we also call it Brew money for I'm not sure reason It mean unemployed people / people with no jobs who get an allowance from the UK government while unemployed to look for work it's not mega money About 160 British pounds a fortnight but I could be wrong could be less I did a quick Google search and see America has Unemployment insurance, but not 100 percent sure if that is the same thing, Mabye if some subscribers know America and Britain more, they might explain it better. 😂
