Proper crisp sandwich is just bread, butter and crisps 😋😋

never mind the butterfly effect. making a sandwich without butter has just caused the British effect; the collective sigh across the nation has just started a tornado somewhere in the world. You were so close to being an honorary Brit. you'll have to head to a chippy and get steak pudding, chips, mushy peas and gravy to atone for your sins (all together as a meal, none of this peas and gravy in tubs for dipping, malarky).. salad cream though is the king of crisp sandwich sauces for salt and vinegar / cheese and onion / pickled onion crisps.

I would say a true crisp sandwich would be soft white bread, butter and your choice of crisps. Loads of crisps lol. Perfect!

BUTTER! This is essential. Brits butter their bread for sandwiches. Then add crisps... only other thing might be Tomato Ketchup or Salad Cream.

For a traditional proper British crisp sandwich you should put butter on both sides of the bread before anything, but to be fair people have it however they like it 😊

Hey man, love your content! I noticed you were in Wigan not long back and just wondering if you have visited Bolton? There they have one of the oldest pubs in the uk dating back to 1251 and is supposedly haunted and has even featured on ‘Most Haunted’. Directly facing is a pasty shop which has been open for 125 years. Worth checking both out in my opinion! Keep up the good work 😃

mate this is nothing like the experience of eating a UK crisp sandwich because you didn't spread any butter on the slices of bread... we always put salted or regular butter on the bread of our sandwiches as a core ingredient, it doesn't sounds like a big deal if your not from here but it makes a HUGE difference in the sandwiches taste, texture and flavour

We generally use butter on the bread instead of mayo of any kind. Also wouldn't smash HP and mustard in there. Butter on the bread, ham cheese and maybe salt n vinegar, or cheese n onion with a dash of salad cream would be more accurate, the monster munch would probably taste good but a bit too bulky imo.

But you never ended up going to jay's kitchen in Ilkeston I can guarantee you it's worth the travel. Get a burger and some loaded fries best thing you will eat in the UK. Safe travels.

If you like Salt and vinegar, I highly recommend ASDA Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps , M&S and Co-op versions are v good too.

While you're in the UK, I implore you to try naughty brownie. it's a family run, Bristol based company and they deliver to the whole UK. If there's any doubt about their popularity, for the past 2 years I was unable to give them as Xmas gifts because they get so overwhelmed with orders at that time of year.

You should do a Chip Butty next. It's Chips (you would probably say fries) inside of a sandwich which is just buttered bread. Optionally, you can add salt and some malt vinegar on the chips 👍

dude, as you are in the midlands...look up Harguns in Walsall, their samosas and Indian sweets are second to none! such good value too! I recommend, two samosa, 4 paneer rolls, 2-4 onion bhajis, (make sure you get a lot of tamarind chutney) and anything else you fancy ;-) you won't regret it :-)

I get everyone going wild over no butter on the sandwich but I actually enjoy spreading mayo on for a change of taste, sometimes I'll spread Philadelphia cream cheese on too. I love Monster Munch but prefer a standard potato crisp in a sandwich, salt &vinagar is good but for me it's cheese & onion or smokey bacon Walkers... Heaven. You can buy the USA style mustard over here too it's usually labelled as either mild yellow mustard or hot dog mustard, you should try Heinz mayo mustard its amazing. You should visit Lincoln if you get a chance a great city steeped in history with lots of great food options, as well as lots of haunted places, there's even a lincoln Ghost walk that takes you on a guided tour of all the haunted places and tells story's of why said places are haunted. you would be welcome at our venue for a full english breakfast or a lunch of your choice we do everything from traditional fish and chips to burgers, nacho's chicken tenders and our famous wraps I would recommend the fat wrap and our speciality the Mexican wrap, On us of course. I'm enjoying your content guys.

Salt and vinegar really are great for a crisp sarnie, but you really shoulda gone with bread and butter, good choice of bread though. I only put ready salted on proper sandwiches, to get rid of them (dman those multipacks). Try emptying a packet of Wheatos into a bowl of chicken and mushroom soup, nom nom.

To echo others. Crisps are the only filling in a crisp sandwich. I find normal crisps like walkers better because you get a better crush down. (you want to get as much of the packet into the sandwich as possible as well) Bread also needs to be buttered. Condiments are extras to taste if you want. Fun fact - British Mustard is the second hottest mustard in the world (the heat you're getting is from the seeds, not sure what chemicle it is, but you are right similar to horse-radish) That being said, I am gonna give your take on it a go. Also pickled onion monster munch is king!!!!
