@@asahenriksson1981 Ågren är så bra! Har du hört remastern av Monica Törnell? Den är riktigt bra! Den är här: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-maSpjLG6Oj0.html
Cornelis is one of a kind. The way he sang was so creative and entertaining. Listen to him live in the tv-show Lyckohjulet where he sings Ågren, or when he sings Cecilia Lind in Karl-Anton i Vita bergen.
I think of this one and Brev från Kolonien as some kind of siblings. One is about kids that misbehave when they''re away from their parents, the other is about adults misbehaving when they're away from their kids.
This is the elite of Swedish jazzmusicians that worked with Cornelis. Jan Johansson on piano, Rune Gustafsson on guitar, Sture Nordin on bass and Egil Johansen on the drums🙂
Considering the recent loss of one of our greatest, Sven Bertil Taube (may he rest in peace), I suggest you pick one of Evert Taubes songs performed by his son Sven Bertil. Änglamark, Så skimrande var aldrig havet or Nocturne are great songs. performed by him.
Its great! Such a good song! I have a list of 5 songs from Master Cornelus for you to play! 1. Polaren Pär är kärlekskrank 2. Polaren Pär hos det sociala 3. Rosenblad, rosenblad. 4. Felicia adjö 5. Veronica Those are just a few of his great songs!
The 6/8 makes it upbeat. Cornelis was both a folksinger and a protestsinger. So lots of his lyrics are critical of the so called socialdemocratic society, wich today translate to neoliberalism. Then he wrote som beautiful lovesongs too. The hole of Scandinavia was bleesed with american jazz musicians that came to Copenhagen since the war. Some of them like Ben Webster and Dexter Gorden lived in Copenhagen for many years.
Well Cornelis recorded many songs on A-disc (label associated with the socialdemocratic party) and appeared on numerous 1st may manifestations so I don´t think he was that critical to the party. I fact I think he was a member in his later years... just putting things right! / TKO
Would love to see more reactions to Cornelis! "Balladen om herr Fredrik Åkare och den söta fröken Cecilia Lind" is a great one which you haven't reacted to yet
Cornelis came and sung for more than an hour in my high school (gymansium) in Helsingborg in the beginning of the 1970's. It was in those days, when Swedish schools could afford to invite celebrities like this to come and sing for the pupils.
Min favorit Vreeswijk låt, hans andra hits är underbara i sig men man behöver vara i rätt mindset för att det ska funka, ångbåtsblues kan man dra igång när som helst, även på fester.
Oh, Monica Törnell - Heden, please react to it, it's a beautiful song! Heden doesn't mean any thing anti-christian or anything like that, it's just a different name for a field in nature, so you aren't put back by the name 😊, also, Björn Rosenström - Nollpop, there's a lot more from Björn Rosenström also that is worth reacting to, like "Pojkarna Som Busar" and a whole lot more, probably worth a Rosenström Night Hang :), but to get a taste of it, please react to those two of Björn Rosenström, I think you won't regret it! (and it's truly swedish classics), also, you haven't done anything of Hep Stars, like Hep Stars - Tända På Varann, or Hep Stars - Sunny Girl. Swedish music is like the whole world in one country, it's unfathomable how much music have been produced here.
Lite recommendations: Blues - Bortom Dimhöljet, Blues - Mot Alla Odds.
Some songs I’d love to see you react to by Cornelis: Grimasch om morgonen Deirdres Samba Sjuttonde balladen (written by Evert Taube who never recorded the song himself, made famous by Cornelis) Ågren (or any other song from the album Poem, ballader och lite blues) Also a few of his anti-war songs which include: Telegram för en tennsoldat Jag hade en gång en båt Generalens visa En visa till Gagga Desertören (lyrics by Lars Forssell) Till Jack
Fotbolls-VM börjar om bara 2 dagar. Du *MÅSTE* reagera på Sveriges kamplåt till fotbolls-VM 1990: Ciao Ciao Italia med After Shave! (It’s a true Lasse Holm-banger!)
