When initially posed the question of "what is the best credit card duo", Ben chose the Amex Gold and Amex Platinum cards. As we discussed it more, the idea of swapping in the Chase Sapphire Reserve for the Amex Platinum came up as a viable option, but Ben still leaned towards the Platinum because of the Hilton Gold status and added benefits that the Platinum has over the CSR. What are your thoughts?

I thought it was weird when I randomly got upgraded to diamond status, too. This happened in October 2022.

I really want the Platinum because it looks cool & metal plus its perceived status. I’ve got the Venture X and SavorOne. I get the full value out of the $300+100yearly credit for travel booked through C1 portal. Two trips/yr to 🇲🇽 and we book the cheaper hotel/AB&B since it’s only for sleeping in. Travel, I’m fine in economy but better seating would be nice, I’d rather save the upgrade price to use while on vacation. Amex I just couldn’t get full value out of to make “free” but it’s great for people that can.
