My 2015 C class was a freaking crunch box!!! That thing rattled and squeaked all over the creation. It was soooo aggravating as it was not a cheap car. I loved the design of the interior and how sexy, classy, cool the exterior was but I traded it in for a Lexus IS bc I wanted my sense of hearing to translate as “luxury” and I knew a Lexus interior would do that. I couldn’t be happier with the Lexus. Granted it does feel dated in some deparments like tech and the interior isn’t nearly as cool looking as the Merc but I HAPPILY trade those qualms for the refinement a Lexus delivers. Wish Mercedes could deliver this type of refinement.

I have an E43 and all the plastics in the interior and rattles are shocking. I would have never thought that a Mercedes would be like this when I was younger. Also, dealership experience has been significantly worse than I had with Lexus and BMW. I'll be trading in for a GSF or S5 later this year.

@johnkirchner8756
@johnkirchner8756 4 года назад
Brian, I couldn’t agree more. In fact, proof is in the pudding… I used to own a 2013 GS 350 F Sport (loved it!), but then traded it for a 2014 Audi S8, drove it for two years before realizing my mistake based on the money I spent keeping that thing on the road. And the entire time I owned it, I missed my Lexus in the way that GS drove. The only thing it needed was more power and the sweet sweet sound of a naturally aspirated V8. Problem easily solved… I traded the S8 for a 2017 Lexus GSF and will live happily ever after. In fact, I don’t even find myself looking at other cars anymore. It’s like I dated the rest and married the best. So while the German cars are stunning in their own way, this is by far the best of both worlds without spending $1000 every time you turn around to keep them on the road. It’s one thing to pick the Audi or the Mercedes after one day of driving them for a review. It’s another thing to live with them every day. I like my service advisor enough, I just don’t want to know him on a first name basis. The only reason I see my service advisor at Lexus is for oil changes. So Brian, sell your F Sport, and buy a pure F. You will never regret it. Never.
@brianfox967
@brianfox967 4 года назад
@@johnkirchner8756 thats the plan. Hopefully ill get the F sooner than later but its a sure thing.. me and my wife detail cars on the side. Most english or german cars have stupud quirks that lexus doesnt have. Mercedes is the best built out of all the german cars by far too.. everything is bolted in tight and no rattles ect. Lexus is superior in this category. Wish the 350 had 311hp to the wheels and then it would be super great.. love your analogy about dating the other cars lol. The lexus people are great too.
@johnkirchner8756
@johnkirchner8756 4 года назад
Brian, new vs used is an entirely separate discussion in its own right. But allow me to give you my quick two cents here... I have purchased all my vehicles pre-owned. Which, by the way, allowed me to be able to afford them to begin with. My Lexus GS F-Sport new: $55k, I paid $37k for a two year old. My Audi S8 new: $124k, I paid $49k for a three year old. (CRAZY how much THOSE depreciate!) My GS-F new: $87k, I paid $52k for a two year old. What’s my point here... oh yeah... you can sleep easy with a used GS-F and most GS-F owners treat their cars better than their children, so the ones I considered looked almost new anyway for $24k less than new (in my case). Want new, hey, go for it! But if you want one for $20+ grand off, it’s pretty much the same thing... bulletproof. Happy GS-F hunting!

@@johnkirchner8756 im with you on that 100 percent.. itll definitely be used. Ive owned just lexus cars now for about 15 years . It all started when back in 04 i bought a used 1998 ES300.. long story short ive never purchased to own any other vehicle other than a lexus since.. proof is in the pie. That es300 still drives with over 275,000 miles on it with only having to replace struts and wishbone engine mount. My youngest brother drives it. I still own an 05 rx350 and an 07 es350. Anyone interested in purchasing one of these vehicles and retaining it for a long period Of time, let's look at depreciation. Industry standards are 20% 1yr 15% down to 10yr mark when it hits 10%. Accept Lexus, they retain there value highest in this segment of cars Audi, Benz and BMW as well just about any car other than Porsche and exotic cars. A survey was done looking at the depreciation of Lexus ISF after 10yrs it had an astounding 42% of its original value. That's nearly half of what it cost 10 years ago for a well-maintained relatively low mileage car 50000 to 60000 mile car. 37% for RX350, LS and even ES. What will the Benz and Audi be worth once they're out of warranty so in 5 years after 10yrs $80000 Benz $8000. I've had my Lexus ISF for 10yrs its FBO and Tuned and has no issues after 101000 miles of daily driving and still running strong.

What I love and hate about Lexus is that there aren't many people who absolutely adore them and that also a plus. Everyone goes for German but only the unique people go for Japanese. Much respect to the German automakers but I don't want to be like everyone, and I am always and always have been, loyal to Lexus and Toyota. But if I had to choose a German company, it will be very close between Audi and BMW (BMW surprisingly being the most reliable of the two, Porsche being the most reliable German manufacturer) probably BMW by a hair.

As a overall-more-Lexus fan (I love Audi and Mercedes too), Lexus GS F goes no doubt for me, it only needs a better infotainment to smashes the other two really, like even if it has a CarPlay and no touchscreen that can fix it too. I recently bought a third party screen designed for NX in my NX200t and that made everything look new again! Audi looks really cool though, that exterior is just sexy, Mercedes’ interior is gorgeous, simple as well. Oh and, I actually spotted one today when I was going to Lexus store just to have a look at cars and the renovation, and damn it was even better when you look in real life

I'm a bit confused why are you comparing the C63 against a GSF and a S7, the true competitor for the C63 is the RS4 and Lexus dont really have a true contender in this class but you could have a BMW M3 here.
@chasingcars
@chasingcars 4 года назад
Was explained in the video - RS5 Sportback is the ‘sedan’ competitor to the C63 four-door (but yes, if you want a wagon there is the RS4 and C63 estate). BMW does not yet sell a current-gen M3; when the new car comes out we will have a detailed test available.

Make sure you get a hold of the new G20 based Alpina wagon this year when it lands. I think that's going to be a sensational car. As close as we'll ever get to an M3 wagon. Out of the cars reviewed, I agree Lexus for quality and reliability. Although an RS4 wagon would be hard to resist...
@chasingcars
@chasingcars 4 года назад
Yes - the B3 Touring. Can’t wait to drive it. Must say as lovely as the Alpinas are, though, I wish BMW would bite the bullet and do an M3 wagon. The resale benefits would make people more likely to buy one than the Alpina, I reckon, but it’s great there is a choice at all.

Lol my grandad has a GS350h and while its a lovely quiet car, its DEFINETLY not the quality of my C63s - lots of tinny plastic and just generally all-in-alll looks really 'asian' unlike the euro cars. The C63s is definetly not as good in build quality like the 221 S class (which i have) but still very good for what you pay for.
@chasingcars
@chasingcars 4 года назад
Having them side by side, we didn't feel the GS had tinny plastics. Some of the AMG's materials are more sumptuous - I agree - but the overall build quality, including not rattling down a rough road - was superior in the Lexus.
