Amigo is one of the artists who best represents "simple is not inferior." I also have always been a metal head. Mostly classically structured complex metal from iron maiden to Iced Earth. The bands I listened to growing up were the hyper complex full orchestra accompanied bands. As I grow older I still like those bands but have gotten better at appreciating the high impact low complexity brilliance in other genres. There is a Frederick Neitchze quote that is something like, "I can convey in a few words what most people cannot convey in a full novel" Musicians like Amigo the Devil, Dax Riggs (in his solo career), and Xavier Rudd all do this with their music.
