Garand, I'm not 100% aligned with some of your opinions, but I... We will be forever grateful for your video with Paul. From the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for that. 🖤 (edit: I'm subbed to his channel for years, chill...) (edit2: I AM respecting Roy's wishes, and I'm sorry some people are unable to see that. It should be obvious for most...) (edit3: I'm sorry some people think that being able to admire someone whilst not fully agreeing with them is a bad thing, I hope you become better parents that yours were)
my exact thoughts this video made me stop in my tracks for the fact this is the video i get to introduce me to the channel. this man genuinely seemed like one of the nicest guy.
I survived leukemia only very recently. Just this year, in fact. Now, whenever I hear about people dying from cancer, I get this strange feeling. Not exactly survivors guilt, but something similar to it. "Why did I get to live but they didn't? They should've survived as well."
Wish I'd heard this one before my friend's eulogy haha. Cancer sucks. But at the very least, it teaches you that life ain't fair and to treasure every moment. Easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and lose sight of what matters.
That's kinda stupid honestly Edit: wow I got so much hate from a simple comment. but anyway, I think it's stupid because cancer is not equal a human. The death of the cancer and a whole human being (as if it's a fight) is not a draw imo. I know about Norm and these words don't make up him as a person (and he's just making a joke here anyway, but some people view it like something that makes sense, and that's actually what I'm calling stupid here). I'm not saying anything against him. You guys just wanna speak out your hate on something, and you stumbled upon my comment.
Technoblade... 👑 🐷 🎪 ♟️ Edit: damn, i didn't think i would start a big comment section here, and im almost at 1000 likes, uhh... Thanks, i guess? I guess not, thank you all, I appreciated👍
@@grizzlycmmg9578 Very true, my point is that he reached many different spheres of YT that you wouldn't even think about him reaching. We'll miss him for sure.
it feels weird while reading a sensible comment with disgusting pfp and i suddenly feel some kind of satisfaction or happiness for reporting you sooner
Same, it's 2:38am here in Germany, just randomly checked my Notifications and saw this and my Heart dropped Ruhe in Frieden mein Kamerad Paul! (Rest in Peace my Comrade Paul!) - definitely gonna listen to the Traditional German Song for those who passed and i hope some of you reading this will do too! The Song is called "Ich hatte einen Kameraden" (I had a Comrade) This Song was played at Funerals of many of my Comrades, Friends and Relatives. You got lots of Fans from Germany, especially Soldiers and former Soldiers! Especially since your Video on the Miami Dade Shooting which was shared by us of the Gebirgsjägerbrigade 23 since back in 2016-2017! We will miss you and you sharing your Knowledge will stay forever with all of us! As we say, you're never really dead as long as People think about you! Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
@@matthewcheung7888 I could watch one of Paul's videos and get so wrapped up in what he was talking about that I didn't realize how much time had passed because it was so interesting to listen to him speak.
Apetor rip he did the same to me even though it's some sort of a weird sense of morning you feel trust me it's a lot worse to watch some guy for f****** years and then see him die I stumbled upon apetor and I stumbled upon stobe the hobo both great personalities both long dead when I found them I was searching for the most recent video when I realized that their last video in stobie the Hobo's case was years ago and in apetors case it was days after
Dont even know who this guy is, but supporting his family, apologizing, and subtly dissing the opps while hes dead?? This guy is a beast. Heaven picked up a new one. God Bless!
Surprised to see you here. Never knew you were interested in firearms. I guess that does track with your love of shortwave radio. I'm guessing you also enjoy Forgotten Weapons?
It's amazing to think we live in an era where we get to experience someone's memory through such a personal lense in this way and getting to know them after they passed
@ElBandido_1 It makes this news slightly easier to swallow. Even in such a dark situation, Paul spared some thought to us, and tried to soften the blow to us, even though he would have been fully justified to only think of himself.
As a German, i gotta say he definitely has that proper "Well i'm dead, now you Guys don't be sad, get drunk and joke about me" Vibe which i appreciate a lot! RIP Paul! form Greece 🇬🇷 I've been watching your videos for a long time! You alongside some other channels introduced me to the 2d Amendment and US Gun Culture. My Country has very strict Gun Control and Self Defense in any form is illegal. But you opened my eyes to the truth. Guns are a RIGHT. Growing up i was told the US is a criminal infested hellhole but i realized it's the most Free Country on earth. And I won't give up my passion for guns even with the many limitations i face. God bless your soul Mr. Paul from the US.
He didn't say he was not scared. He carried himself in the video as if he was not, such is the way all men would (should) hope to do. I don't know who he is or what he was about, but I do hope he is worthy of the peace we all hope for.
You're so right. I'm the first person in my family to own a gun. Paul Harrell taught so much: gun wisdom, gun responsibility, gun sense. Thank you, Paul Harrell.
A bittersweet moment that Paul Harrell is gone: Bitter because he left us, Sweet for him because he dodged TEOTWAWKI just in time. So much lamentation and sorrow is just ahead for the majority of this world - that especially includes Americans and Canadians, the true Israel of God.
what about destroying a server inspired by this video? like one that the admins are shady of disrespecting this kind of stuff? well, if you can find one. Love your videos!
So RU-vid randomly recommended this to me. I have no idea who this man is. But seeing his non chalant attitude and acceptance of death and seeing all these people in the comments sharing it as well is a really comforting feeling. So thank you Paul and thank you random people on the Internet
May he rest in peace i never watched any of his stuff but the seniority shows that he loved to make this kind of content my condolences to those who knew him personally
@@johnkueneman9860 Hi dear Good evening . I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful man with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌺🌺🌺
I was on my recliner watching some other YT vids. I decided to see if there was anything about Paul Harrel, when i saw the video and read the title, I teared up. Ive been watching Paul for a number of years, his videos were so fascinating and funny (at times). I learned a lot about firearms and just surviving in the wilderness. Paul you will be so sadly missed by SOOO many people, But you will always be on our hearts and minds when watching your videos. RIP Paul. May God have a special place for you.
“So if you’re watching me, I’m dead” That line is hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time. His nonchalant deadpan take on his own death is why Paul Harrell will forever be a legend.
If you are committed to your RU-vid audience, this is how you take a bow and exit stage left. He planned for this contingency in advance, which unfortunately happened in this case. Now we can grieve, each in our own way, for a friend most of us never met in person, but a friend nonetheless. Better and much kinder than the videos just stopping and leaving us guessing or making wild assumptions about what happened.
All these comments restores my faith (and hopefully yours) in humanity, all the more. While the hard-to-grasp saying goes "there is life after death", especially for the mourners, this gentleman brought-perhaps knowing or unknowingly-together a diverse (some might even say randomly recommended) community. Imparting a life lesson that the world needs more/is starved of: humility & grace. God bless the crew maintaining the channel, his legacy, and his family that he has left in succession. R.I.P. Paul Harrell. Legendary and may you smile on us from the heavens
Like any of us with terminal cancer, we wish we would have gone in sooner and caught it earlier. Early detection can often increase survivability by 50%. Unfortunately for Pancreatic cancer most of the time you won't feel "off" until it's too late.
The fact that he doesn’t sound scared or worried and he sounds like someone you’re just having a friendly chat with makes this even more heartbreaking 😢 R.I.P Paul Harrell
You can tell he gets emotional at the end when he finishes the script and starts talking from his heart. Cancer is awful, poor man, he seemed so proactive and passionate about life. Makes me want to value my own life more tbh.
Could be a proverb as well. It’s definitely in Cicero’s Tusculan Disputations and was repopularized by John Quincy Adams via his posthumously published diary.
aw man may the heavens welcome you with open arms, i wish i had found your content sooner paul i love the energy you have, fearless warrior given the circumstances.
That’s the devastating part for me - he knew and accepted his death months before it occurred, even after initially being given years, to the point where he knew he had to film a closure video regarding it. Not sure how the guys got through filming / editing it at the time. Perhaps they just kept the raw footage and waited to edit it later. 😣
I stumbled upon this Man on this video, and it's the first video I've seen. He seems like a Good hearted man who was very insightful and caring. May his memory be a blessing.
His disappointment over his untimely death and him feeling like he let everyone down is really soul crushing to me. Paul, you and the crew have been a pillar of the community.
@@kanaka118446 what could the man do, his own body gave out on him…you didn’t let us down Paul, you raised us up to be higher thinkers and diligent/responsible humans!
Not surprised. I expected Paul to do something like this RIP and may God bless you. Paul. Your work has helped more people than you could ever imagine.
… I’m not even subscribed to this guy; haven’t watched a single video. But the fact he made a video in light of his own death to give some form of closure to fans tells me all I need to know; Godspeed, you glorious bastard. The kingdom of heaven better have a seat for you.
@@Jimbo_Swaggins I really hate to say this but it did not die with him, Cancer can still grow after you die. Henrietta Lacks's cells are still growing today
I also just discovered this today, and honestly I feel like I would have loved to spend time with him just by this video alone, I might just check out the channel to get even more on his character,
Never heard of this man. He showed up on my fyp, and I clicked on this video for some reason. It was kind of inspiring? I’m sorry for his family’s loss. May he rest in peace. ❤️
Starting your Paul Harrell journey with this video, is literally like grieving in reverse. You meet him by learning he died, and then every new vid you watch to learn more about him introduces and increases the pain of his passing. Like the Benjamin Button version of mourning.
Yeah, it’s sad but interesting this is his most viewed on, especially since this got millions in days, while others were after years of doing his channel. Regarding his cancer, my grandma passed away after finding it, 2 weeks before her passing. Even a past teacher of mine said how pancreatic cancer is an exception, as it is a fast-killing one, it seems to me from experience and what I’ve heard.
Kind of badass of him to make one these "if your listening to this.... *I'M DEAD* ....😎" things. Like the main character in some dramatic murder-mystery movie, except he's real, and WAY more practical. R.I.P Paul.
I’ve always thought it was cool as hell when people make videos to be released after their death. I hope to do the same some day. It’s a concrete way to be remembered and the closest we can get to talking to someone beyond the grave. It’s a powerful thing to do.
I remember i bought my first 1911 pistol after watching Paul doing a comparison between a cheap 1911 and an expensive 1911. I will remember Paul everytime i use my Rock Island 1911 either on the range or when i carry it concealed. R.I.P Legend.
“…so if you’re watching me… I’m dead.” Who doesn’t DREAM of being able to drop such a fantastic line. This guy was truly one of a kind. You had good run, Sir. Well done.
@@The_Eastbound_Hyena It's not stepping on it, just a rueful reflection on our existence. You were done laughing by the time you read my comment, so no harm done.
Was he a believer in Christ? Uk God is real right? Im also trying to open your eyes guys death isn’t a joke and the afterlife certainly isn’t either, Jesus loves you, give your life to Christ before it’s too late and God IS REAL. Repent and ask for forgiveness of sins daily. God tells us this in the bible and no one does it
What a great gift he left for us, eh? All that knowledge and experience that has saved many of us from making bad mistakes, and spending too much money. Paul is one of a kind.
Unfortunately RU-vid is shadow banning it from the “trending list”. Oh well, 🖕🏻 them. It’s breaking the internet and Paul would love the fact they are trying to stop people from know the truth yet it is still getting out. What a legend.
Aww. So sweet. I'm glad he enjiyed his time on youtube, and although I've never heard of him, he seems like a gorgeous humble and kind man. He seems so cute and I am so sorry for your loss. RIP Paul Harrel
@@lucutes2936 yeah there’s a part near the beginning where he says “I was hoping I’d have 2-3 more years left, but it’s turned into only a few months left” 😭😞
I heard about Paul and his passing on reddit.. I’m sorry for your loss and that I hadn’t found his content sooner. Seems like a heck of a guy already and I’m just beginning to watch his videos
@@Teh_Random_Canadian Yeah Paul was the most straight and direct guy I knew on youtube. Even if he uploaded this video on April 1st I would instantly know he was being serious.
a lot of us came from recommendations, got introduced to Paul, and said goodbye to him. I never heard of him my entire life, but from the way he speaks, explains, and his friends, he sounds like a good man. Rest in peace, Paul
@@TannerGoated I’ll never understand why young boys act so proud of being unempathetic and edgy for online brownie points. And then they grow up to become another statistic of increasing chronically single men, if anyone is curious why’s it’s gotten bad for adult men look no further than this kid. It started there for them too
@mrplays0roblox615 may he rest in peace. Watched a few of his vids and he seemed like a really good man. Kind, loves his guns, funny, caring. Hope he is watching down on us with a smile🙏
i have no idea who this guy, Paul, is. but i got this video in my recommendations and he seemed like a pretty nice guy, to be able to create such a community, that's impressive. Rest In Peace Paul.
Never seen this guys video but his acceptance of death is insane, it takes a special kind of person to understand they’re going to die soon without having a crazy breakdown
I think what’s most intriguing, is that this can’t be fabricated or faked. Nope this is all real as it gets, and there is much nobility to be found here, in such rare/near obsolete character. R.I.P sir…RESPECT!!!
He's a pro gun nut job who pushes the NRA's narrative of more guns using paranoia to target mentally ill people. He's a demon who's most likely in hell as we speak.
