Dr. Sam Waldron is the president of CBTS and professor of Systematic Theology. He is also one of the pastors of Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY. Dr. Waldron received a B.A. from Cornerstone University, an M.Div. from Trinity Ministerial Academy, a Th.M. from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. From 1977 to 2001 he was a pastor of the Reformed Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Waldron is the author of numerous books including A Modern Exposition of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, The End Times Made Simple, Baptist Roots in America, To Be Continued?, and MacArthur’s Millennial Manifesto: A Friendly Response.

I think the 1st resurrection is when believers are born again - when they are quickened from their spiritually dead state.

Thank you so much for posting. I like many, were brought up pre mill. As time went along I had a serious doubt in my heart of the rapture. Now, as a growing and mature believer, seeing that the Christ church IS ISRAEL and the fulfillment of promises and the Second Coming being a 1 time event to separate the Goats and Sheep, this breakdown by Mr Waldron was a precise scripture walk thru to nail home a strong argument for the AMill view. Love it.

First resurrection is spiritual.we are brought to life at salvation.spiritually dead to. Spiritual life.

First resurrection is spiritual life.second death is physically death has no power because we are in the kingdom now.salvation is first resurrection.death of the old man.

Is Waldron not a 1689 Federalist? I wouldn't have answered that "the Church is Israel" and wouldn't have framed the response to "has God broken his promises to Israel?" in the way that Waldron did, saying the promises are being fulfilled in the Church. Instead, I'd say we have to delineate and distinguish the promises God have to Israel (which were temporary and were fulfilled) and the promises that were typologically promised to the Church through Israel's promises (which are eternal and belong only to the Church). Anyways, would appreciate any thoughts here

How does a a millennium explain Zechariah chapter 14? It fits perfect with Christ ruling from Jerusalem. Please explain this chapter from a amill perspective.

See the change in lighting and the water in Zechariah 14, and compare it to the same in Revelation chapters 21, and 22.

The first resurrection is spiritual and I believe it’s when a Christian dies and goes to be with the Lord reigning with Him from heaven. I know some will say it’s when we are regenerated but I believe it goes much further than that.

A corrupt teaching. Christ will rule for 1000 years on earth from His early father's throne from Zion after the tribulation

Do you believe a real live dragon with seven heads is going rise up from the sea like some Godzilla attack? If not, if you think that's metaphorical, then why should it be corrupted teaching if someone thinks the 1000 year rule on Earth is metaphorical?

Where is the tribulation is scripture? Matthew 24-25 is not a tribulation in ages to come. What Jesus was saying had to make sense to his disciples at the time it was said. It literally says “this generation will see these things come to pass.” The destruction of the temple in AD 70 was the most significant destruction of their time and fulfilled what was said. Jesus uses judgment language spoken of by the prophets referring to the destruction of the temple which that generation saw come to pass.

@@patrickbarnes9874 A-millennialism believes that the 1,000 years is a long time referring to the time from Christs resurrection to the time of His second coming and that Christ rules and reigns on earth right now through His church. And this is scriptural.
