I make that salad. I add sunflower seeds and sometimes raisins. So good. Yes, you can definitely make it ahead of time. I think it tastes better the next day because the flavors have combined. It's also interesting to me that many Mennonite meals are similar to Southern Baptist potluck dishes I make and grew up eating. I guess it is because we are both descendants of the Anabaptists.

YUM!!! All delish!! Thanks for sharing! Just a kind tip (from a Mom of 2 boys & now grandchildren): Please turn your pot handles to the back of the stove burner, this way you won't bump it and cause the pot to spill or one of the children accidentally reaches for it. Can't wait for the next video you share.
@marielapp1786

Funny, I saw that too. My mom taught me to always turn pot handles away from the front. I'm the oldest daughter in a family of 9 children so there was plenty of chance for accidents!

Just a helpful tip. When making a pie crust you can roll the crust over the rolling pin and then unroll in right into the pan. Makes it easy to transfer. These look like great recipes to try. Thanks. Enjoy the day.

When you make the pie crust - roll out a second and cut into strips - lay strips on baking sheet and dust with sugar and cinnamon. I promise you that your kiddos will LOVE the dough strips! I'm 70 now and have been eating the 'left over pie crust strips' for at least 65 years :) This is a perfect way to make your children pie-loving kids! Bless you and your family.

I really appreciate cooking videos. I’ve been having major mental block in the kitchen and I can’t wait to try some of these. My dad had some Amish friends we went and stayed with when I was a little girl. They made these corn fritters and corn pudding that I still dream about. Do you have a recipe for either of those? I’ve never been able to replicate or found any that were the same. Thanks again for a great video.

On your jello salad. I work in dietary at our local hospital. And I make something like that. We call it frog salad. I make the jello and let it set up in a 9x13 pan. After the jello sets up I put everything in the stand mixer. Softened cream cheese and the jello and mix it starting out slow then switch it to med high then high. Blend well then add the cool whip and you can add crushed pineapple or mandarin oranges. Blend well! Then put it in a 9x 13 and put in the freg. Until it sets up then slice like you do a cake. Looks a lot like what you made! I enjoyed your video 🙂

I worked in dietary at a hospital years ago and we made different things with Jell-O. One super simple thing we did was mix canned pears with whatever flavor of Jell-O we had. Sometimes lime and sometimes cherry or strawberry. I loved them. I like tart things so I would make them at home and drain and rinse the pears and mix a packet of unsweetened Kool-Aid mix with it. I added a little salt for an extra zing. Weird but was tasty and helped if I craved sour candy. Thanks for your videos. I love that you have several different recipes that don't necessarily go together to make one meal. The chicken noodles look divine!! Definitely going to have to try them.

By the way I kindly add my agreement to the comment about turning your pan handles toward the back.....especially with beautiful Oaklyn in your arms. All of these recipes look delicious, especially the pie. I love most any kind of pie. If I may give you a tip on making the pudding....Put all your ingredients in a large measuring bowl (microwave safe) ...I use the Pampered chef 6 cup . Stir it well with a whisk and microwave for 2 min. Take it out and whisk again, put it back for 2 more min. whisk again and microwave 2 more min. That's a total of 6 minutes, I have an 1100 watt microwave if yours is different you can adjust up or down as necessary. Basically you are bringing it to a boil for about a minute or two. No chance of scorched pudding and no standing at the stove stirring constantly. I make all puddings this way whether they are from scratch or from a box mix. Hope this helps someone. Have a Blessed day. BTW Oaklynn just gets cuter every day. She has the most expressive eyebrows for such a little one.

I make the broccoli cauliflower salad a lot. I always do mine early and let the dressing sit on it. In my personal opinion, the longer the dressing is on, the better it tastes.😁

I must make this pie 😁. I’ve had the broccoli/cauliflower salad countless times and it’s so delish that I just added a few things to my grocery list, lol. Ps: cheddar indeed works very well with it. Thanks for the video!

You can make the gelatin salad with regular Jello. I used to always use Dream Whip which is a powdered whipped topping. That way I could make it anytime. Both ways were delicious. Orange was my favorite. Tasted like a well known popsicle.

Hi! If you have access to a bible, read 1 Corinthians 11 ☺️ it talks about women covering their head while praying etc. there’s a lot of differences as to what that scripture means to different people. But I believe I’m called to cover. For a number of reasons. ☺️❤️

Your family is so sweet, you are definitely blessed. Everything looked awesome, I can’t imagine picking one favorite although peanut butter pie is one of my favorites! 😍 Do you normally bake your bacon instead of frying? Just curious which you like better and how you bake your bacon. 💕

Can't wait to try the noodle dish. I made your shortbread the other day and it was wonderful! Growing up we put thawed sweet peas in the broccoli dish. I've had another broccoli salad that uses raisins, but i definitely prefer the one with cheese. I'm from Wisconsin/Minnesota so a lot of this food looks familiar to me!

Lynette...should there be any peanutbutter in the pudding part of the peanutbutter pie? Fir 30 years I lived near Arthur, Il which had a large population of Amish and Mennonites. Such good cooks! We loved driving over to their store/bakery for bread, jams fresh eggs and summer produce. They also had a general store...such great things and fabric galore....we always said...if you couldn't find the fabric there that you were looking for...it didn't exist! It was so calm and peaceful to drive thru the country and see a simple lifestyle...I know they work hard though. Thanks for sharing so many recipes. 💐
