According to Ruger, the angled screw should be tightened to 95 inch pounds, which is equivalent to 7.9 foot pounds.

Yeah. I was thinking I should tighten it down further. Thanks for watching.

As I've mentioned before, open the bolt to quicken cooling time. Even better, stand the rifle up on a rack or just by the shooting bench to get a draft moving up through the barrel, which is even faster on cooling. She looks like

Some say to get copper bullets to shoot accurately one must clean the copper fouling from the lead core bullets first. Do you know anything about this?
@MisterBrewer
@MisterBrewer Месяц назад
I think there's some truth to it. I just haven't been able to fully prove the theory out for myself.

That walnut stock is better than the average Ruger stock.

Hey how would you compare the recoil of a 308-7mm-08-6.5 creed thanks!🤙🏻
@MisterBrewer
@MisterBrewer Месяц назад
In my experience, the recoil between the three is similar. I have experienced the most felt recoil from the 7mm-08, honestly, but not sure if that was due to the recoil pad, the rifle, the load, or the shooting technique.

@@MisterBrewer Yeah looking for a lighter shooting hunting rifle to pair with my tikka hunter 270. At first was looking into the 6.5 creed but IMO the best deer specific cartridge has to be 1.270 2.7mm-08 and those pretty much can be close to interchangeable, ofc the 270 has some hundred pounds of energy and extra horse power.
@MisterBrewer
@MisterBrewer Месяц назад
The 7mm-08 is a great deer cartridge and can handle other things too.

@@MisterBrewer Absolutely agree with all of that, definitely wouldn’t be afraid to take Elk Black bear and even big Maine moose with the right bullets

Love the ruger m77. Have it in several calibers. I don't drop down in low grains. They seem to not group as well. Also I prefer a flat base bullet which is like the norma tipstrike. But to help tighten your groups up significantly, have your rifle stock bedded!!! Also it may help to lighten the trigger pull if its still factory!!! I like around 3lbs trigger pull. But if you have the stock bedded and the trigger pull reduced you will see much better results!!! Infact, you will shoot all those same ammunition better. But I would come up in grain with the barnes. However, the barnes is a bolt tail. Not my first choice. But my ruger 30-06 does shoot it exceptionally well. And maybe your ruger will do the same. I've just always had better results in all my other ones with flat base bullets.

Hi. My Ruger M77 7mm08 initially shot like crap. ISo I free floated the barrel and bedded the stock which helped alot(i never did it before. its easy). Also I eventually found 3 sweet loads because I reload. Using 135gn BT projectiles 1. 10 grains of trail boss for low sound 2. 50 grains of Stabal 6.5 for hunting 3. 32 grains of IMR4895 for general use. Anyone of these loads gives me very very good accuracy. Hope this helps
@MisterBrewer
@MisterBrewer Год назад
Awesome! Yeah, I really want to do those upgrades to mine too. Thanks for watching!

@MisterBrewer Год назад
What kind of groups do you get?
@JohnSmith-bd7sg
@JohnSmith-bd7sg Год назад
@@MisterBrewer The IMR4895 is sub moa at 100meters and the trailboss is 1 moa but the winchester staball 6.5 is sub moa at 200 meters. So don’t give up. My rifle is also crap using factory ammo.

Did you torque the action screw first? Seems that's what I heard is the order? Another couple days I should be getting new rings for putting my good scope on a heavy .243 M77 Target.

I woukd torque it down too 40 PSI I had to torque my Winchester model 70 super grade 7mm08 to 45 psi specs call for 35psi. The Hornady whitetail 139 grain chose very promising results. 1)4 inch ro same hole ahots. Excellent round great rifle excellent video keep them coming. Es from Texas 8:41
