So Saxons was a medival people in UK that notorisly fought with Vikings. Then in this case the band Saxon (funded 1975) is the counterpart of Amon Amarth, worth to know, Biff (singer of Saxons) is 73yo i believe, still has an amazing voice
The Saxons were a Germanic people who came and settled what is now England following the withdrawal of the Romans. They were divided into many smaller Kingdoms who fought against almost constant incursions by the Vikings. In the reign of Alfred the Great of Wessex (a southern Saxon Kingdom, and where I happen to live) the Vikings had taken every Kingdom except Wessex, which they then tried to conquer - they were not successful as Alfred's forces defeated them and laid the foundations for a united England. This is particularly well portrayed in the Netflix series The Last Kingdom, which is well worth watching. The Saxons in the Video here are infact three members of British Metal legends, Saxon 🤘🤘🤘
(ger. Die Sachsen)The Saxons were a group of Germanic peoples whose name was given in the early Middle Ages to a large country (Old Saxony, Latin: Saxonia) near the North Sea //(Wikipedia) //East Germany today. sorry i wasn´t there today was to busy in my Head and Things -.-
Try to look up some interviews with Johan Hegg (Lead singer, Amon Amarth) He is one of the nicest and sweetest persons in the metal scene. A really good guy :) Also love your reaction :D This song is the collaboration we never knew we needed! So freaking good!!
The saxons were a Germanic tribe, one of the largest and most powerful, their territory was a large fraction of germany(still three states are named after them) and, I believe some thime around 500(don't quote me on the year but give or take a couple hundred years) a part of the saxons, along with part of the angeln(together referred to as anglo saxons) sailed to the British isles where they conquered England, the by far richest and most fertile part of the island, but scots, welsh and irish fought them off. There west Germanic evolved into England while on mainland Europe it became languages like German and dutch, as well as swedish, Norwegian and danish.
Interview with Johan and Biff about the making of the song and the hystorie behind the story 🤘🏻 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MOaw7WvNnsI.htmlsi=r9gUBaSVTGZfSB_l

BIFF!!! Of course he had to be there. King Harold, the last saxon king, annihilated an invading viking army under Harald Hardrada and Tostig in 1066 at the battle at Stamford bridge, just to have to turn around to face an invading normand force under William the conquer. That's where Harold met his end, att the battle of Hastings. So the Saxons beat the vikings, only to be beaten by viking ancestors.
It’s kind of funny that 2 people that are probably decendants of saxons themselves don’t know what saxons are. Saxons are from northwest mainland Europe, todays south Denmark, northwest Germany and Netherlands and later Britain.
when the germanic do things they are metal saxon -dane - swea 00 the swea and dane are in the guines book of records for the two countrys the have fougth most wars against each other dane law will never end odins sons wont give way
I’m a Saxon and my cousin is a Viking then I got another that’s a Moor an another that’s Ruse a couple Romans and Danis and my sister is a Goth mom is a Celt and dad was a Hun
You don't know what saxons is? England was made by 3 germanic tribes. Anglos, Jutes and Saxons. Then us scandinavians from Sweden, Norway and Denmark invaded them and took over like 1/3 of England and it was a bunch of fights between us, even though really... we're very closely related since those tribes came from the European mainland (but earlier of course).
Saxons, Vikings, boast battles and blue hair! What's not to love? Great that we've got a Swedish band facing off against an English band, just adds to the symbolism when you've got Saxons (raiding Germanic peoples who by this time had been settled in southern Britain for a long time) vs Vikings (Scandinavian raiders who settled in northern Britain later). Fun facts: (1) Ironically, the band Saxon come from Barnsley, which was part of the Viking kingdom of Northumbria. (2) The Scottish insult "sassenach", which is used for English people (and English-loving lowland Scots) comes from "saxon". (3) All being well I shall be seeing Saxon live for the first time later this year!
@@Ati-MarcusSso i was wrong, but that still doesn't explain such a shocking lack of knowledge. they might be Africans, but they're white. chances are they are actually coming from those people
