for me is hermod's ride to hell, they didnt play it often... and for me after Victorious march is most epic. This one has a really impressive lyrics though
When I originally listened to this I just thought it was a great song, but when I listened to it after learning the mythology that inspired it it gave me chills. Fucking amazing!
@@Dylan-cu4ty It’s about the armies of the undead and jötnar preparing for their march on Vigrid in the battle of Ragnarök. I might be wrong here but I believe Lopt is the Swedish interpretation of Loki, similar to Oden vs. Odin. But it definitely is another way of referring to the trickster.
When I had this song as my ringtone, my dad would always shout "I SWEAR THIS BOY IS GOING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK ONE DAY!" whenever my phone starts ringing. But seriously, what a song though. One of their best.
I know this is about Norse mythology, but this song reminds me of the Night King. I can see his army of the dead marching upon Winterfell, every time I hear this song..
@Acceleration Quanta marvel Loki is not mythological Loki, the one from marvel is an infantile jerk purely. While mythological Loki kind of is too, marvel totally glossed over the loss of his family, the murdering of his sons by Odin, literally being lashed to a rock by their insides to suffer. Loki was angry, maddened by gullveig's heart, seeking revenge for never belonging, for the death of his family, and for personal power and authority, and if you believe it, fate.
@accelerationquanta5816 I don't think misnaming of Loki's parents (which happened in the comics) changes much, but it's the fact that his function in the story is completely botched and reduced to a third wheel (which the comics didn't do; he's the main bad guy and his children, which, yes, they are in the comics, play a large role in the events).
The Viking used to assault my land, Celtic Nation of Galicia, at Northwest of Spain... I wonder if "Long forgotten and Foreign tongues" could also refer to what my ancestors speak.. And we still.. Galician.. As we fough them back, as we always fighted back Romans, Muslims, Vikings, Castillians... To them we lost. It is why where "Spanish" nowadays. Even Though where Historical enemies Amon Amarth is my favorite band and our cultures are close anyways
