Amos Williams - Dystopia Bass Playthrough 

I'm a drummer and Amos single handedly made me want to learn bass. Picked up my first 5 string a few days ago!

+TYFLOL I feel like that's already what they do, or something close to it. Out of all the Djent bands' bassists Amos is almost certainly the most funk-influenced. You don't see many bassists even not use picks anymore, as a jazz bassist who later got into metal it seems unfortunate to me

Andy Shores Yes, that's ofcourse true, but I wish they'd take it to another level... They have some cool bass moments but I'd just like them to be funkier

2 both different bass players. Nolly is a pick guy and does a lot of legato stuff. Amos is a funk influenced player.

Nolly is my preferred player because I like his tone and style a lot more, but I think objectively, Amos is the better bass player. Amos has a much broader range of techniques that he relies on frequently, whereas Nolly is pretty much a pick and legato player who does some tapping and slap stuff on occasion.

I agree! However, i subjectively think Amos is a better bassist because of his creative grooves. Both their tones are phenomenal, however i did like Amos's tone better when he used his Warwicks. At the end of the day, everyone could probably agree that if Amos played for Periphery and Nolly played for Tesseract, they would not be in their element, thus there is no objective opinion on who is "better". They have their style and they are both fucking powerhouses at what they do!

Huge fans of both. Isn't it nice to have more than 1 good bassist out there?

More punchy and full than Warwick? U w0t m8?! :D This bass sounds like paper compared to good ol' Thumb

This weird and awesome bass has a lot more open mid-range that it sounds like his new tone needed. Definitely has less growl down low, but the mid-range/treble are more open and airy.

Archimedes Arisen I actually showed this to my parents. Until now they thought Djent was only bands like After The Burial
