Between this and Molly McGee, I'm learning a lot about Thai culture this weekend.

After seeing the hyper realistic Planter family, I can see why Anne's father passed out.

Sasha has Anne's journal and Anne has Marcy's notebook. I love this reveal as it means that even though the girls are separated once again, they each have something to remember the others by.

Polly speaking Thai literally melted my heart. That was some of the funniest and most adorable Polly moments in the show :) Also fun fact: Dr. Jan is voiced by Tiana herself, Anika Noni Rose!

I love the Isekai acknowledgment they implemented when we see the others videos on Anne’s Toob tab

Has anyone ever discussed the piece of furniture that the Calamity Box was sitting on in the thrift store? It was from Amphibia as well, or at least was designed by someone from there. What might be inside it??

Ok, so we've got a new character who knows about the Plantars being frogs, and more and more people are going to know about Anne being back. Something tells me that Sasha and Marcy's parents are going to find out too and grow suspicious on where their own daughters are. That's going to lead to some serious drama, I can tell, but other than that, these two episodes were really fun. Also, I love how your cat was trying to sneak onto the screen for some affection.

Men, Temple Frogs will always be one of my favorite episodes in the whole show because it was so interesting and fun to learn about thai culture. I hope cartoons will have more diversity when it comes to main characters in the future and have episodes like this because this episode left me with such a happy feeling :D

For what it's worth, I'm sure Mrs. Boonchuy knows Anne isn't being honest about the robots. Maybe, she's waiting for Anne to come clean with her about it. Or at least thinks she has it under control for the time being.

Marcy's notebook, when did Anne get that?" My working theory is that Marcy - who was traveling with an entire library when she showed up in Wartwood - was basically storing things *everywhere* as she kept having to find more "seats" on Joe Sparrow. "Hey Anne, could you carry this?" Might explain why Anne had to leave her journal behind at the Planters.

Maybe the Mother of Olms is the true identity of Jörmungandr the World Serpent. That would be fun. 🐍

The amphibia relic on today's episode made be feel so happy and surprise inclung having to find the olm, who is the blind twins who were going to eat sprig and polly during their trip to newtopia Mom

I feel like it was no coincidence that Anne ended up with the Plantar’s. Especially seeing how Sasha ended up in the custody of Captain Grime and Marcy in the grasp of King Andrias. Despite the fact they are from a small farming community, perhaps there was a reason why Anne was supposed to find the Plantar’s which is linked to their hidden family history.

The amount of lore we got in this episode was crazy

Olms are small amphibian creatures that resemble axolotls, they live in caves with water wich is why most of the time they're blind and are very long so that they're able to swim better. We've seen Olms before in Amphibia, the siamese twin olms in "Quareler's Pass" back in season 2. Funny enought they mention their mother, wich could just mean nothing, just a joke, or it could be important. Looking back into season 2 we can see that every temple has and Olms represented in their architecture. And in the now famous shot from the season 3 trailer where Marcy seems to be possessed by the Night, her helmet has small antler like the ones from axolotls and olms, so maybe the Night is the mother of all olms. Also fun fact: Dr.Jan has the same voice actor as Tiana from The Princess and the Frog

I love Dr. Jan the first 5 seconds she was onscreen. Also I feel the urge to learn more about Thai culture. IT’S SO FASCINATING!!

Another Easter egg in the bit where Hop Pop is distracting the museum guards: if you look at the wanted poster outside the museum, you can see Feathers McGraw from Wallace and Gromit

Can we just talk about how Polly is becoming more and more frog like as the show goes on, first the legs and now in fight at the museum, using her tongue to grab items, personally I’m glad that she is becoming more frog like and not just staying as a polliwog and is actually growing up.

Sorta off topic: Are we gonna get an episode where Anne does indeed start going back to school? If so, how will it play out?

As a Thai, seeing our culture represented in this episode is such a joy! I like the story of Thai community coming to help Anne's parents in their time of grief, but it was undercut a bit when thinking about Anne's explanation for her 5 months absence in this episode. I mean...what do you think the response would look like? *"Bless you Mrs.Boonchuy for having your daughter back. Hopefully, you won't forget sending your kid to summer camp and fall into grief again next time"* With how the episode ends with the Plantars getting exposed, I half expected someone would admit that they never buy Anne's excuse anyway but was just too polite to pry further, and now that they saw the Plantars, they figure that was the real reason for her disappeared.

I wonder if the reason frogs seem to be so low in Amphibia’s social hierarchy, is because the frog girl hid to box and seems to be the first one to betray Andrias

from the trailer we know Yunan and Olivia will be looking at what seems like in ancient sites and trying to save Marcy, maybe they will seek this Olm in Amphibia to try and fight Andrias, also the Thai community just accepting the Planters reminds me of the inhabitants of Wortwood accepting Anne

The community comforting the Boonchuys when Anne was transported to Amphibia is really heartwarming.

Alms isn't just the ( plural ) name of an amphibian, it's also the name of an offering one gives to their local priest or temple, so it could be hidden in something that the Thai community in amphibia holds dear.

I still think that pink frog who was Andria's friend IS the first descendant of the Plantar family. It did happen 1000 years ago, but there was enough lore bits implying frogs have much short lifespans than humans. So less than 100 years, potentially less than 30. Given all the newts of Newtopia seemed completely oblivious to Andrias's fortress it would make sense. Also the entire complex system beneath the Plantar farm implies the family has been chock full of adventurers and inventors, suggesting the family has had many MANY generations, say 1000 years worth... And by sheer coincidence some news popped up a week ago of surfaced evidence suggesting vikings visited North America as early as 1021 A.D. which is 1000 years from the present day 2021.

Am i the only one crying Internally every time i see something get destroyed in a Museum :(. But Dr. Jan is the best.

What I think is interesting thinking about the parallels between Anne's relation with the LA Thai community and the Wortwood one. They are both seen as being supportive of her and the planters helping each other out, out of a general sense of community. This includes fighting robots which both communities did, and where amazing bad ass at. Both also in their willingness to accept the strange. Wortwood, originally only accepted Anne because of her relations to the planters, member of their community, though they eventually grew to accept her so much that Sasha and Grimes where able to be accepted despite their pass crime just by association. It is sort of like how the Thai community was so willing to accept the strangeness that was the planters, because other their connection to Anne. That and they possible because they had already stated making connection in the community before the attacks happened, even if it was briefly.

I think this set of episodes was excellent and honestly they are my second and third favourite episodes (Turning Point being my favourite) so far. I can’t wait for next week’s episodes and whatever’s left of season 3A

In case anyone is curious, I'm working on a fanfic that is suposed to represent season 3 of Gravity Falls. I should warn you though, I'm mainly using the original script of season 2 and recycling it for season 3. So... Expect a much darker season.

I have a theory about the death of sprig and Polly's parents. Maybe Andrias sent the herons to wartwood, thinking it would kill the Plantars. The resemblance between Sprig and andrias' ex-friend the pink frog is uncanny, yet Andrias doesn't show any sign of shock when he met sprig fit the first time. Andrias must've known the sprigs were descendants of the pink frog. The heron attack might've been a failed attempt to end the plantar line. He gave up because the townsfolk of wartwood were more resilient than he expected.
