1:16 Finally a troubleshooting guy that actually test the voltage! I can't count how many RU-vidrs just skip the voltage like Amp regulators never fail!
I got one for ya. More frequently now, my amp will cut out. If I turn the bass up or volume up, it will come back on for a bit then cut off again. Sometimes it won't come back on at all.
JP, great video man, And if you touched on this in the video, forgive me. Cause I completely missed it LOL. My subwoofer seems to cut off once I turn the volume to a certain level. When I looked at my amp I see it is in protect mode. If I keep the volume lower. Nothing happens but as soon as I turn it up Protect mode kicks in and subwoofer cuts out. Which of the tests you showed applied to that or did you not cover that specifically? I would appreciate your help brother
hey, i'm wondering if you have experienced installing aftermarket radio with honda stream premium audio factory amplifier. i've been looking for info like where the factory amp is located and which wire from the stock harness powers the amp. so far my android unit plays normally but no sound is coming out. if i wired a speaker directly to the player, there is audio. appreciate your assistance. thanks
Bro, thank you so much and love the video. I’m not sure if this vid is gonna help me solve my problem, but after watching 10+ others I can say yours is the most useful and easy for someone like me who knows nothing to have a direction to go. That being said, if I do these tests and can’t solve it, would you be down to have me send you a video of the problem and you respond diagnosing it? (The video I send will just be to you and you can use or not use it in your response, just trying to figure my problem out). Either I haven’t been searching right, or I have a unicorn but my bass just thumped with no music connected and the engine turned off with the key out the ignition 😂 anyways, gonna try all this tomorrow and weather it works or not I’ll give an update
The AMP power gauge accidentally touched the casing of the capacitor and caused a small spark. Does that short circuit anything and affect the SUB and AMP?
I've got a power acoustic amp I'm not sure if it's blown or not anytime it powers on both power and protect come on but then power stays on and protect leaves the chat trying to push a 3k skar 15 inch svr
So I’ve had my system hooked up for years like 5-6. Rockford fosgate p3 12 2ohm and a 500 watt fosgate amp they actually pushes 620 watts. All of a sudden now when I turn it up it’s going into protect I never have all the settings all the way up and far as I can see all connections are good I can’t figure it out only does it on higher end of the volume
Hey bro I have a kicker CXA 1800.1 with two Q-class L7 12's I recently upgraded my alternator and added a second power run and bigger grounds and a few fuses with a 29AH SCIB bank everything has been working fine for the past two weeks except for when I turn the car off if I open the door before everything completely shuts off it will burp my subs at Max volume for several seconds today I was checking it out clamping my setup and turned the car off and had the door open and it burped them louder than ever enough to shake the house and make the neighbors mad anyway I didn't think anything about it because it has happened several times but I went to get cigarettes about an hour ago and as soon as I turned the car on everything was fine except I was getting a major voltage drop at the positive input on the amp itself this has never happened before I literally never get voltage drop with the overkill power supply on a 2k amp so this has me really concerned I understood the amp and everything is completely fine throughout the rest of the car all the way to the lithium in the trunk right next to the amp so have I fried it it didn't have any music playing through it or anything and was dropping from 14.8 to 13.2 just driving to the gas station and it never did this before it burped today
So, I have a MTX and when I connect my positive, the ground side has sparks and is in safety mode, so you know how to fix that? I’ve changed the fuses but it’s still the same
I have a Kicker amp and I want to know about what does it mean or what do I have to do on REM what kind of wire do I use or how do I hook it up can you tell me
Hey guys. I've got 2 fosgate and P3 12s and a skar amp and DD in doors. Every once in a while. Whenever I turn up the base by the base knob or it hits hard, it doesn't go into protective mode, but it does cut out the base. the music keeps playing, but the base turns off. Wish do I do first? Could it be the amp itself and how can I know?
I have a Rockford fosgate R2-500 X1 I was Coming home from work Banging my sounds And all of a sudden My protect light comes on when the bass goes up I thought maybe it was overheated So I went home Turned it off Woke up this morning And It's doing The same thing now It won't let me Bang Keeps going into protect mode What do I need to do please help
For a while now my amp has been stuck in protect mode it started one day when i had them too loud and they stopped playing and started smoking so im assuming the amp is just done 100% but i want to make sure theres no fix before i buy a new one. Right now when i put all the wiring in the amp it stays with the blue light until i put the remote wire in and then it goes back into protect mode does anybody know what the problem is or have a fix. I've alr tried letting it sit with no wiring.
Hello I’m in need for some help I just set up my scar 2500 watt sun and amp I get power and everything is looks wired correctly can someone help me I’m getting no sound
Hello can anyone help me I have the same issue but I don’t have an amp. I upgraded the door speakers on my car to ds18 hybrids and they are hooked up to the radio with no amp it cuts out sometimes and only the subs play how do I fix this am I forced to get a amp for the door speakers?
THESE SO CALLED TIPS IS NOT GOING TO WORK. THE REASON IS NONE OF YOU DO NOT NOTHING ON THE AMP BOARDS AND DO IN HOUSE TESTING before install it is common sense. All gronds no matter what grounding point is P.S AND THING PASS THE FRONT DASH IS ALL BAD GROUNDING POINTS PERIOD.
So a blown speaker can make the amp go into protect mode? I do have one blown speaker and when I turn it up to loud my amp light will turn red and stop working. I bought the rockville 8in sub and amp combo so I know the amp is right for these speakers also.
I have a zero gauge positive wire.. put my negative wire is a 4 gauge.. will that burn my amp out.?..now my amp no making no noises but tge light comes on ..on the amp.can somebody help me.
Simple for this long ass video, (solution is the ground cable.) no need to check with any volt meter. It’s obvious if you know what you’re doing. Duhhh 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Fix your ground wire get a good ground make sure you use a nut and bolt for ground and remove the paint before making a ground. I use have same problem got fixed with this
Please answer man when I test my ac on speaker wire I’m getting nothing but when I turn my volume up real real high they turn on but it’s distorted and barley working. Everything else is good so it’s from the amp to the subs
I have been the whole weekend fighting with this exact problem with my amo, low voltage in the positive and perfect on the remote cable. I did check the fuse, it does look fine me. So as soon I can today I will replace the fuse if that doesn’t fixed the I’ll run a new wire. Thank you and I let you know what happens.
Thanks dude. Helped me out. Well made video. 💯 ............... Question tho: I have a rockford fosgate t1000x5ad..... and when I have her all hooked up, I get ZERO sign of life?? I've checked all V reading at all points with the meter. All at the correct numbers. But check it out....--->I tried taking a wire and jumping it at the B+ to Remote and when doing so.....my amp gave me a SPLIT SECOND of life with a BLUE light....then NOTHING. 🤔 **I even took it in to my local car audio shop to have them test it.....They said IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!! O_o Duh Shiiiiiit my dude?!?! lmao. ... .. . What's you're idea/opinion?? Please help me slap again!! 🙏🙏
Great video will Subscribe, J.P. did have loose ground, however still need to get the correct voltage match have levels inputs all the way down on channels 1/2 & 3/4 bridged. The 6X9 speakers are rated at 120 rms 240 max, so guessing Amp isn't 🤔 powerful enough to drive em. LET ME KNOW.
I recently changed my head unit, there was already an aftermarket radio in it I just changed to a different one, everything was just unplug and plug back in. Everything works except my amp and sub, the LED on my amp flashes red and blue and then turns off. Any ideas on what the problem is? The only wiring I had to do was cutting the remote wire off the old harness and connecting it to the new one. My amp is a Vertigo Power Acoustik 1600W
I have this amp, I used 2 different power cables, 2 ground cables, and I disconnected everything and I still have the red light, but when I disconnect the control amp, no light appears. I tried another cable and the same thing happens. Rockford fosgate r2 blinking red light with amp control
After my comment I realized there’s a bunch of people helping others in the comments so figure I’ll throw my issue out there. Couple weeks ago every once in a while my highs would cut out while driving ( I have a bass and a high amp). Everything except the bass would cut out. I’d pull over, shut off my truck, start it again and everything would be fine.. that started happening more often until today something stranger happened.. (While sitting in my truck waiting for it to warm up because I just replaced and filled my radiator). All of a sudden I started hearing bass. Just a thump every second or two. I checked to make sure my phone wasn’t connected to the truck (it was connected to a Bluetooth speaker in the garage) and it was still thumping. I look at my deck and it isn’t lit up at all, like it’s not powered on. I turn off my phone music, it still thumps once every second or two.. Now I have no idea what’s going on, I turn off the truck and pull the key out the ignition… still.. the thump continues.. super confused, I start the truck. The deck lights up, the Bluetooth connects to my phone and everything is fine. Now, listening to my phone through my truck, I’m watching RU-vid videos trying to figure this out.. 5-10 minutes in, my highs cut out and it’s just bass like what happened before. Anyone know the first place I should look?
Why does my amp read 29 volts but my battery is at 13? I've been trying to figure this out. They worked fine until the other day. All the sudden my amp is reading high and isn't in protect mode until I hook speakers to it. But I tested speakers with multimeter and they good not blown. I'm soooo lost
I have a 5000w orion amp connected 2 a 12" american bass sub. Had a pro install it worked great for around 8 months. All of a sudden now its popping and making weird noises the light keeps turning red. Once in a while it will run good then do it again
hi I have a Rockville rws 10ca 1000 amplified power car subwoofer enclosure and for some reason when i am playing music the sub will stop playing then when I play another it might turn on play for about 3 minutes then it may stop again. I thought that maybe it was the radio which was a factory radio now I have a jvc kw-560bt and I thought that fixed the problem but its doing the same thing . works when it wants to . I know that its getting power because the green light is on
This content is riveting. I read a similar book that was a linchpin in my personal growth. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
Helloo , I have a BELVA-BB200ABV2 amp. My amp goes to protect mode, I don't know why. I run a wire from the (+) battery to the 12v of the amp. I connect the REM of the amp to blue wire on the radio. I get the ground from the (-) pole of the battery. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Question i have 4000 watt taramp and when i turn on sound sfter a minutes or so the bass began to fade out until completely gone but if i turn off and back on bass comes back .....do i need to upgrade my electrical?
I thought my door speakers were shorting on the sheet metal but I'm not sure they're connected to the amp while running subs that should be a separate circuit

I have sony ax8100 and amplifiers was sony 4ch and sony mono block when i connects mono amp to sony ax8100 in subwoofer slot when sound was high my amp was cut off please suggest how to install
I checked All the power and ground connections, I have over 12 volts I checked oms on the speaker outputs and it reads from 1 and drops to zero. Does this mean the problem lies with the sub?
I have a 4 channel amp that I've had 6 yrs. This just started the FR door speaker is popping at high volume, I took it loose and connect it to the FL speaker channel 1 on the amp it stopped should I just replace the amp

My amp & eq stopped working while I was driving. Voltage in power wire but No voltage in remote wire. Fuses aren’t blown. Connections look good. Amp & eq going to fuse box. If you could give me something I’m missing I’d appreciate the help
Question for the comments my amp got a lil warm and cut off now I don't have any bass it is not in protect mode and all my wires and fuses are good help ?
I was bumping my subs yesterday and then all of a sudden my head unit said amp error now my subs don't work. Do you know what the problem could be? Thanks
Install consists of head unit ,amp ,1*12"sub and 2*6.5 mids When i switch functions on the head unit say from tuner to aux or cd ,the amplifier switches off. Only when you switch back to tuner mode on the head unit, the amp turns back on I check all the connections..
I have a problem where my subs and amp were working fine for a year, now all of a sudden it only works when the truck is off, but once the car starts the amp instantly goes into protect mode. I swear I have go over everything 😩 ugh
So I have a cxa600.5 and it worked great for a very long time. I did have a sub problem and since replaced it with a new one, but it worked right away and now it doesn’t work at all after a short drive. Could it have blown that fast?

I have power to all my wires and I did tests on everything except the fuse I checked that and it looked fine but I will check it now, if it’s none of those things what are some possibilities of what’s wrong? I have a mb quart rw-110a with the amp built in with the sub and it’s in protect mode when I try to use it
My car amplifier have power protection on. I'm getting reading of 12.8V on pos cable but 10.5v at remote. Everything was fine since yesterday that my amp got a little bit of water under the amp. I've check every fuse and power cable. All of them are reading 12.8V. Only thing I guess, is the remote cable. Can somebody have an idea what could be the problem? Thanks in advance
Dry the amp out. Spray contact cleaner inside. Then try again later. I have similar problems when it rains. And moisture. Both my amps stopped working. Then did this let them dry for a few days. Bang they work again
