Man that brings back memories when I was young learned how to build cars on the old bugs and your doing he'll of a job on it wish had means to build one just funds not allow it so keep up great work.

I checked all of my RC Car instructions & never found a stripper pole reference. Looking forward to finding one😜. I was never a big Tamiya fan, but if I were to stray & get one, a Sand Scorcher would be it. Enjoying the build.

Back when I was 16 I bought 2 beetles for a project car I was making in high school.. I chopped one up for suspension and drive train and the other I used for the motor.. The one I chopped up was a 67 wolfsberg beetle.. I didn't know what I had. Needless to say I could have funded my trade school tuition off the parts that I cut up and sent to the junk yard. I just remembered seeing that w shaped deck lid and going that's weird looking.

When I was young I couldn't afford them, not until my teens anyway. Started with a TT01.

Hello Matt, do you think a static model is any good to modify to fit parts into a RC model, in my case the RC is a 1977 porsche carerra RSR 1:12 (kyosho/robbe), Tamiya has static models 1:12 with interior etc, thanks in advance Dirk

Absolutely Dirk. Many folks kitbash static models for RC.
