The CPT® acts as a kill-switch in the event of the Turbo failing when a hard-start is attached. This prevents damage and possible failure of the AC compressor by preventing the hard-start from continuing to kick on the compressor without the motor-run capacitor regulating. Pair the CPT® with the CPT® Fuse Wire on AmRad's universal hard-start kits (TES5 & TES5EXT) for the BEST hard-start install. The CPT® Fuse Wire cuts the hard-start off from the AC system within 3 seconds of a relay failure; preventing damage to the compressor.
