Bryan shows the features and benefits of AMRAD's Turbo 200, how it works, how it is wired, and why it is the best option on the market today for a universal replacement capacitor.
The Turbo 200 has multiple capacitors with the same winding, and it's an industrial-grade permanent capacitor for residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. They are also okay with higher voltages than many other capacitors and have plated brass terminals, which won't rust. The capacitor also gives you the factory microfarad ratings, so you can know what to expect from the capacitor instead of relying on blanket ratings assigned to all capacitors in a product line. AMRAD also gives each Turbo 200 a 5-year warranty.
You can also try different wiring configurations with the Turbo 200; the capacitor comes with a set of instructions to help you wire it according to your needs. The factory jumpers that you can use are also quite snug, which helps extend your capacitor's life expectancy.
You can easily register your Turbo capacitor online or by sending out a form in the mail. That way, you can get an accurate date for your warranty (which starts on the date of installation, not the date of purchase). AMRAD also has websites specifically for the Turbo 200 and Turbo 200X capacitors, which show installation instructions with different wiring diagrams for your needs. AMRAD also has a solid tech support line to help you out with additional questions about the product.
Overall, the AMRAD Turbo 200 universal capacitors are high-quality products that will save you and your customers time and money. We also appreciate that they're made in America with quality materials and that care goes into manufacturing and packing.

My green terminal (3.0mfd) reads 0 on my multimeter. The red terminal (10mfd) was reading 37 and going up.

It would be worth having on your truck for a service call. Sure keep a few common value capacitor(s) like 5/ 35. The mini 200 is even more important to keep on hand. When it comes to F.A.U's you could need a 5mf, 7mf or 10mf. With contactors it's not going to hurt anything by going with a higher amperage contactor.

Mine was sold to me as a lifetime capacitor by Amber air, they charged $100 for the cap + installation and said it was a lifetime guarantee. With temps over 100 degrees, I can't wait for Amber to fix it. The Turbo 200 cap says 5 yr guarantee. I replaced it, and now the AC is working again. I used a $15 part and it's about a 15-minute job. The cap is dated 10/28/2014, It's 8/14/2020 so I don't expect the manufacturer to replace it, I have to find the Amber receipt to see if they honor their promise, but this cap only lasted a little over 5 years. which is just about average here in the desert.

I like how you even have your tecs cover the white wire with tape to signify it is no longer a Neutral. That is next level!

Besides being able to use multi taps, what are the other advantages of these capacitors? Also,Your long meter leads add to the error readings stated from factory Thanks for the Video!

I have a 21 year old GoodMAN AC Unit Model No: CK42-1C. Recently learned that my capacitor is bad. The currently installed capacitor is an AMRAD Turbo 200X. Is this too much? Do I have to replace this capacitor with the same AMRAD 200X? Can I buy the Turbo 200 instead? Or can I just buy what appears to be a Goodman OEM replacement from Amazon for about $13? Finally, when does when select the Turbo200 versus the Turbo200X?

Can I use any jumper wire size and color or do I have to use the yellow jumper that is included? Looks like mine was installed under the MFD. I need 1 jumper to get it to 35. I’m not seeing where I can purchase the jumper separately online…. Was thinking I could just use an old wire from a disconnected hard start? Thx

Out door fan motor was running at .8amps and the FLA was .6, is the fan motor over amping? It seemed like it was edited out.
@HVACS
@HVACS 6 лет назад
Yes it was just because it’s not related. My amp meter reads high in the under 1amp range. I should have addressed it but I forgot to. You will also notice that on modern low amp cond fan motors that manufacturers are installing they often read right at FLA nowadays

I just have a question on these. I used quite a few and one unit was rated for 40 on herm and 5 on fan. I connected the fan to the 5 and tested 5uf. Then i jumpered 25 to 10 and 10 to 5 to get 40 if and kept getting 46uf on the herm side. I also tried different ways of hooking up to different terminals and still the same reading. But then I tried jumping just 25 and 10uf and got 41 on herm which is what i should have been reading the first time. Since I tested this, should it be ok that I have 25 and 10 hooked up and reading 41uf?

Sounds like you have a cap that runs high or your meter is off. It has to be one of the two. If your meter is correct then you are fine doing what you did.

So does it do any good to piggyback capacitors? I am obviously NOT a tech, but have heard you can piggyback caps to lower the start surge. I am interested in this to make it capable to run a whole house AC system off a portable generator.
@timdodge2243
@timdodge2243 6 лет назад
No. Read up on hard start and soft start kits. There are things just for that to lower start current, but piggy backing is not one of them.. piggy backing just changes the value of a capacitor. Same as removeing one cap and installing another

They need more than one spade for the common terminal. Maybe I'm OCD but I don't like using 2.5 for 3 or 4.5/6 for a 5

Why stock these when you can buy 6 regular capacitors for the price of this one and not have to stiff your customers? It's really not a big deal to have 1 of each capacitor on your truck and re-order as you use them.

Thanks for wonderful video explaining this. I removed the Turbo200 (broken one) from my inside blower motor below the furnace. The two wires were connected to the center common and 5mF. I forgot which wire was which after I removed it. Is there a way to find out? Is it ok, if I try it both ways and determine which is the right pin for the two wires coming out? I am wondering if I try one way and fan does not start, then reverse it and try it. Thoughts?
