@vinvolupto Just go and receive the hug. Dress modestly and take your shoes off. The hug is totally free. Sometimes you get a free token and they have the numbers on the token and have signs to watch-- its signs in prominent places. This is so you dont have to wait in line so long. There may be a line to get the token so get there early. if it is your first time you will be preferred over those who already saw her. They organize the crowd very well here in the USA. Just do as they say.

After 3000yrs of Roman crusaders to present day Popes & Patriarchs, none managed to have accomplished as much as this old lady has accomplished in her very short life-time. Those who promise us heavens, while comfortably living in secluded cozy Palaces, NEVER hugged a desperate woman seeking to have a child, just like Amma does, sharing her heart & giving hope on earth TODAY, instead of waiting for heavens after death. well...i actually got one after asking you here. It was an interesting experience, but I did feel her presence even among all the people and I felt peaceful after our hug. Compared to other "gurus" and "teachers" she doesn't promote any products or books...though they do sell them at the events. I will most likely see her again in the future. I do recommend an amma hug or any other good hug for that matter.

@umair8723 she is trying to relieve suffering, and is quite effective at doing so. through both donations of money, and more importantly through giving her love to others, hugging them, India has vast amounts of suffering probably close to the highest on the planet. Amma is in the mist of all of that and is doing selfless acts, giving out food and shelter, and trying to encourage others to love one another I would say that is VERY special....

Amma doesnt run an ashram, her followers run it. What part of the world are you in? better yet just go to amma.org and check out Amma tours and she might be traveling near you! I am from the bay area and Amma will be visiting this area soon!

I doubt she'll be coming to my country which is in the Middle East but I am traveling this summer to the States so I'm going to check out the tour dates. Thanks.

We used to have orphanages in the United States. Now we have foster care, which damages children more than it helps them. We could stand to learn from her example and bring them back. Our US system is so dysfunctional.

There are soooooo many other wonderful things that Amma does with the money she raises, they didn't even scratch the surface! And btw Amma does tell people that she is not God and she also does not claim any particular religion. She will say "Love is my religion."

Because raising money is not all she does. She serves all....not just the desperately poor. Can I get an amen?

I want to go to this Ashram... I've been having this hunger for spirituality for a long while now and I want to find meaning to life... What's the name of the Ashram that Amma runs?

I am an atheist, but I still what she is doing is wonderful. Albeit, I do not know much more than a short bit of internet surfing. Yet, from what I have seen it seems as though is really trying to just help people.

@isobelpeace i agree,but if you travel a great distance to be in the company of somebody who is fully realised, this will help you to awaken. there is nothing inherently good or bad about traveling, but why you are traveling is important

@dees900 As the saying goes "Aham Bramasavi, Sarvam Kalvitham Braman". Which means "I am god or god is in me and the whole universe is in god" So for Hindus god is manifest in every thing. If god is infinite it can only exist that way, if god is a separate being then he cant be infinite, if something is infinite then there can be nothing else except that or it cant be infinite! Two separate things like you and god cant exist it will be two finite beings becoz two is already finite.

Amma , Ravishankar , Saibaba(recent) all belong to the same league . where as the True spiritual leaders as always been the ones who have tried to give us the supreme knowledge , it is the Shankaracharya, madhwacharya , Swami Vivekananda and the list goes .why don't people realise the divinity within rather than clinging to some other form /body .lets all grow up in the world of spirituality .The child who grows up to a strong youth does not need the marbles anymore which he loved the most.

I deeply respect Amma, few years ago had her darshan and it was fine, but personally I prefer more 'low profile' spiritual teachers and situations, a more intimate relation and environment... (just personal 'tastes'...)

Unfortunately I didn't, brother...I waited for my 'turn' until 3.30 am, then I had to go having my teenage daughter with me who was too tired to wait again...As I said I like Amma and appreciated the commitment of her devotees doing 'service' all night long, but had a little, disturbing sensation of 'spiritual supermarket'... But please don't take this like an offence, just a personal thought... Om namah Shivaya
