I love how you use the gear demos to serve and showcase your songs. Basically how everyone should be approaching these tools anyway. As the years go by however, it seems to me that the focus has been more and more on the gear only. Congratulations man, great song and production!!
I see everyone is talking about how great the unit is and your great videos, but everyone seems to be missing how much of an absolute banger that song is! Jesus man! I'd really like to see this being released, it really is that great! Love the videos, keep up the good work!
SO well done!! Thank you for putting that all together for all of us - it's very much appreciated! I watched this a while back, then decided to purchase an RMX16 and I'm really surprised just how useful and yet invisible it truly is. Well explained and very well demonstrated in the video. Keep up the great great work!
Yes I notice this AMS Sits very well @ Line you mentioned 4sec. Is very nice we’re most all other Verb would be TOO LONG @ 4Sec. That’s why I own Lexicon’s 480L 224 96, plus all others that I have which are great but used for certain sources.
@@alecbrits I hear you on that. I have the new space shuttle still in its box. Gotta find the space for it (and time to build it!) but I think they'll go nice together. Some absolute MOC madman put together an awesome launch platform set for the Saturn but it requires parts from like, 4 other massive sets. Fun!
At First this is NOT analog, it is digital reverb. Original was one of the first ones available. And this is fucking great, only minus that it is built that 500 format.
@Alec - Just ordered one of these. Would you recommend a simple single channel hardware comp/limiter (perhaps a dbx 560a) before the input to prevent overloading?
Congrats on your purchase. :) I would not think that’s needed in most cases. You can automate how much is sent to the device. I would integrate it into your system first and see how it reacts with your workflow, then adjust accordingly.
@@alecbrits Great advice. Thank you. I'll do just as you suggest, ducking any out of range peaks with automation. Second question: Do you see any reason to ever adjust the 70% input and 70% output? Since as you stated, those seem to reset themselves back to their defaults, my plan will be to simply leave those settings alone.
Great and beautiful demo ! I have one question, how do you record "VOCAl PAD" (5:46-) ? Because this item is one input to stereo output, but your DAW windows displays each stereo data. Anyway, thanks again !
I just got mine this week! Can you advice on the chassis ? VK and Sweetwater are suggesting the RND R6 but, I see you’re using the API Lunchbox. What are your thoughts? I’m also using the 550b, Maag eq4 and RN Eq.
I’ve heard good things about the RND R6. It has some really solid power rails. If you are only using VPR approved modules, then the API rack is more than sufficient. But if you are looking at putting in a few units that run a little more thirsty, then I would advise to look into the RND, black lion or heritage racks. :)
@@alecbrits hi Alec, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. One last question, can you elaborate more on the mono to signal? Are you saying that you’re going out of the module into a stereo track? I did that and only got signal coming out of the left speaker. I ended up getting the R6 and so far so good!
Yeah, that's it, it sits behind the singing voice. The AMS is worth its 1300,--. Let's be honest, you pay 200 for a relab LX480 and then the next one and the next one and you end up paying 600 just for plug-ins. I always struggle to adjust the reverb EQ on the plug-ins.
Thanks so much Charley. :) I am going to be releasing the tunes from summer hopefully, currently working on the recordings as well as figuring out how to afford the recording and promotion process.
