@@kittyratrawr by "untouched" I more mean that there weren't patches to change the game or characters. They just let the game sit in the balance they created from release. That is why Yoshi dominating a tournament is incredible. He wasn't buffed, he didn't get fun new stats, he was just the same Yoshi he always was. But this time someone mastered him. Someone understood his mechanics more than anyone else, and learned how to truly use that to their advantage. That is why leaving a metagame to just simmer and not patching anything can be incredibly beneficial to a metagame. Players will find ways to change the game themselves.

@JacksonJinn 8 месяцев назад
@@agent00puffball Lets be clear, The fact is took *decades* for that and players inarguably mastering once-bottom tiers should inform that this is *not* proof of no-patches being beneficial to the metagame. Because when the game is *genuinely* imbalanced like Melee, until and unless *every single character* can get a win like this, you cannot seriously argue we need the game like this. There are advantages characters have other others of course. In an unbalancef game like Melee, at least almost half of the roster is viable to truly win( cant expect a bowser to win tbh) The problem is in Melee they have put Fox in a pedestal like this broken and unbeatable character when in fact he is not broken, just really good. In smash tier list only 1 character was incontested and it was Brawls metaknight. You could touch the opponent once, turn invisible for the rest of the set and win by % difference........
