Ah! One of the New Siemens locomotives! I still like those P42s, though. They had engines you could feel as well as hear, if you got close to them while boarding.
These ones aren’t technically “new” but the long haul ones on the City of New Orleans and Empire Builder and such are. These have been around a little while. But I like you also like a good P42 as well. Lucky me one of my favorite trains to go catch is the Southwest Chief. And due to the Siemens units not having ATS only the P42s can lead the Chief.
A couple of folks have reported being hit by debris kicked up by these speedsters as they go by. Backing off a bit further would be that old "discretion is the better part of valor" suggestion. I like these videos, but the last thing I want to hear is that you joined the club of those hit by flying debris! 😢
