On Sunday April 23 during my trip to Alexandria, I took the metro to catch some action at Union station. This video has a few surprises including an Amtrak Phase III equipment move!
0:13 MARC MP-36 # 23 pulls up and switches back into the station
0:57 Amtrak ACS-64 #651 and a single coach head to the yard
1:29 NB MARC Service led by #31 meets SB Carolinian led by #616
3:39 P42 #120 heads to the yards after hauling a regional from Virginia
4:00 NB Acela Express w/ power cars #2002 and #2000
5:00 #651 and its coach return back to the station, passing #622
5:40 P42s #201 and #48 head to the yards after hauling the Crescent (and a loud blast of the horn!!) and a Regional deadhead is propelled by 2GS12B-R #599 into the station
6:54 SB Regional w/ #614 arrives
8:27 NB Regional w/ #662 departs
9:29 #599 switches MARC BiLevels for the Monday morning rush
10:23 NB Crescent w/ #622 meets HHP-8 #4912 pulling up outside the station
11:30 Former Staff Dorm Car #10021 "Pacific Cape" in Phase III Livery and an Amfleet are propelled by MP15DC #533
13:12 Regional deadhead w/ #614 reverses into the yard
13:53 #599 returns switching more MARC BiLevels for the HHP-8
14:39 SB MARC pushed by #27 and #33 with a horn show race Acela Express w/ #2013 and #2025 into the station
16:24 A threeway meet of the HHP-8 and two switchers moving
16:57 Regional Deadhead with 10 cars pushed by #614 into the station
