Thanks Jett 👍 it was a lot of fun. Not sure that it is good value if you go all the way given the price for 3hrs. Still worth a trip no matter what seat you sit in 💺

@@liftoffandtravel I would love to film a comparison of the standard seat for this trip vs a plane ride in economy (likely Delta or Alaska). I don't think I'd pay for the main lounge as you did, but the standard looks nice enough.

Thanks for asking Sara. I stayed at KEX which is a sort of hybrid hostel/ hotel. Really loved the Queen room and the decor was modern, comfortable downstairs area. Air conditioning and TV! 📺😊 Sadly I was suffering really badly from a heavy cold so couldn't bring myself to make a review. Location wise it's over the river so will need a ride on the tram or a walk over the bridge. Hope that helps 💚

how much was it compared to flights , taxis to airport etc ?

A quick search on the Internet over the next 30 days. Prices for flights vary between £41 and £187. That's in economy though. Prices are similar but at the high end the train is much cheaper. Couldn't tell you how much a taxi is but this is a much nicer way to travel 🚕

@@liftoffandtravel yes far superior, just wondering what the price comparisons were. The EU are floating the idea that short hop flights can't be cheaper than the cheapest equivalent train. not sure how that would work though

@@fuzzbox3912 very true, Air France and KLM seem to be under the radar currently. Trains replacing short haul flights. Locally Birmingham is a good example of how feeder buses direct to Heathrow could be a good thing. Check in at BHX and then connect with your flight at Heathrow. The train and connections are aqkward or expensive!

Well, a random day next month has: Coach $42; Roomette $211; Bedroom $379; Family Room $421. For a 3hr journey, I would survive in the coach seat to be honest. If going from Seattle to LA $625 in a roomette (35hr trip) or $101 in coach.

In the same way I could ask why go out for a $30 meal when I could have a sandwich at home which costs a fraction. We all value money in different ways and sometimes we just want to experience something a little bit different. I would have loved to have tried this on a longer distance but I had to go between these two cities.
