A little high on the cab perspective and a little fast running but other than that it is a work of art, and the cab view takes it to another level than just a regular video view. Great Job.
Nice! This is one of the best model railroad layout 'cab ride' videos I've ever seen. Even without the graphic of the real cab interior, it's very well done.
My hat is off to ALL who had part in building this and to those who filmed this video. I find it very interesting and entertaining to watch and I am NOT a Model Rail road hobbyist.
Dude that is amazing probably the best on board ride I have ever seen. I hope you don't mind me asking but I would love to see an onboard ride from a passenger car. Great video!
I like the trackwork and scenery, very nice. I think ya over did it with the horn blowing when there was no crossings in site. The guy talking about trying to dig up the gravel playing twice had me saying, wait what?? Other then that I was very impressed. Great job !!!
Best model cab ride video I have seen on YT. Loved the cab window overlay. Is there a map of the layout on-line anywhere? Would be fun to see where the train goes. I used to live in Northlake, right next to Elmhurst in the 1970's. Model railroading has come a long way since then.

Love the vid, great idea and well done execution. My only gripe is horn-blowing in the middle of nowhere and running through crossings and stations silent. I'm guessing the sound file came from another source? Again, love your vid and would appreciate more :)
Beautiful ride... Looks so real..... What decoders do you have in there ,? They sound so real... I want to get some I have 9 diesel's I bought new ready for decoders.,but I need great sounds like that .can you please tell me what you used in those , thanks, joe good sounds like that
What kind of camera did you use? And what car was it mounted on. It seams steady and stays in focus. Great video by the way. I am a former member and did a lot of scenery on this layout. I like how you made the ride along feel real with the cab view.

Excessive horn where not needed, NO horn where needed - at the crossings! Also, you're running near 90 mph, your passengers are probably bruised from being thrown against the car sides!

If you want to use the cab interior overlay, you should mount the camera lower to give proper perspective. Or just leave the overlay off so I can enjoy the full view.
+Bacon Snot Infact, just mount the camera lower either way. All these cab rides have the camera view so high, that in real life you'd have to be standing on top of the train to get that perspective. Pro tip: make a custom locomotive and strip it to the chassis to mound the camera at the exact operator position, and mount one looking out the side and slightly forward on one of the cars to give a passenger view.
well I would say that the sound file was probably taken from another video that he overlaid with this video or he found it online from where someone else took the sound off a video and made into just a sound file!
well the cab interior looks to be a picture, I would say it was either part of a program he owns that allows him to place this over the video to make it look like the video is from inside the cab or he took the photo and using a program like photoshop, removed the window area so it was just empty space and then through some video editing added the pic with out the window area over top the video to give it the look! with the right programs and a little bit of knowledge on how to do it, this isn't necessarily a super hard thing to do!
After putting out ads for months for small people, I finally had a bit of luck when a person responded who was small enough to fit inside one of my HO scale locomotives. I then handed him my working HO scale video camera and put him in the cab! I ran him around the layout a few times, paid him, and it was that easy! haha Im just messing with you... It was taken with a gopro camera mounted on a train car and then I used video and photo editing software to overlay the F40PH cab interior photo.
