Fyi for anyone that has to deal with human expulsions from either end. Use ground coffee if its liquid. Itll absorb the liquid and help with the smell. Sprinkle some on, sweep it up, sterilize the area. Hope this helps

I can almost guarantee that the ride in Story 13 was Stitch's Great Escape (or it's predecessor, Alien ExtraTERRORestrial Encounter). The reason: I too worked at Stitch and was annoyed by the number of parents trying to sneak their children into the attraction. I even had an incident where a woman put a hat on her baby that made it look like a stuffed animal, allowing her to get past the cast members at the entrance, in the first briefing area, and into the theater before I was the one who finally noticed, when she took the hat off to have the infant sit in her lap. She then tried to pretend she didn't understand English when I told her that wasn't allowed (I'd heard her conversing in it just fine with the rest of her group moments before). She was escorted out by security.

I would have ignored it and hoped that when the ride came back it was missing the baby 😂😂😂😂
@QueArres
@QueArres 5 месяцев назад
@@HARAMBEAKAGEORGEFLOYD Not that kind of ride. It didn't actually move: it was a small, circular theater sort of thing. The height restriction was because of the safety/special effects harness that came down over a guest's shoulders. There was a particular section where Stitch would run around the room (total darkness, so you couldn't see him) and jump on people's shoulders, which was simulated by the harness pushing down abruptly. It also kept guests in their seats when the animatronics were moving, particularly two massive "cannons" that were essentially automobile assembly line arms. Those things could knock you out cold if you were in the way of their movements.

I once dated a girl who worked at the colorado-based Lakeside Amusement Park. She had quite a few stories but one of them that stuck out was about their food. She told me that there was one time that they ordered a huge amount of soft serve ice cream in those giant bags. Well the ice cream wasn't selling very well so they wound up having a lot of Overstock. Rather than pay for larger Refrigeration units, they just told her (my gf at the time) to store them in the nearby shed.... On the floor. In a shed that reaches 110 degrees in the summer. Once the current bags of ice cream ran out, her boss told her to hook up the extra bag to the soft serve machine. It'd been in that shed for days. From what I was told they had quite a few health and safety violations throughout the park but they paid their own Health Inspectors off so they are getting away with it to this day. My ex quit a few weeks after that incident. Lakeside is a very cheap amusement park but as with most things, you get what you pay for. Janky equipment, potentially poisonous food, less than stellar customer service.

Not a worker, but at one Six Flags my group was going to get on the Pandemonium which is a very spin-heavy ride. Well, the line was super long so we weren't even on the stairs yet. This actually ended up saving us since someone, upon getting off the ride, ran the wrong way to get off the platform and puked over the whole stairwell. Only this one person (out of 40) who brought an umbrella for the sun was spared. We didn't go on the ride that day.

Hey narrator! “Forbidden Journey” is one of the Harry Potter rides at Universal Studios. In the same park, there was a rollercoaster called “Dragon Challenge” (I think that’s what it was called when it moved to the Wizarding World, it was previously “Dueling Dragons”). Dragons was a set of two coasters that ran parallel to each other like two dragons fighting… until people kept forgetting items in their pockets and riders on the other train were getting hurt because of falling items. “Hippo” is the nickname for “Flight of the Hippogriff,” also in Universal Studios Hollywood’s Wizarding World. Hippogriff replaced Dragons because of the misbehaving guests.

In 2017 it was switched to Hagrid's and Hippo is still there Fun Fact! They made a Dueling Dragons themed house for Halloween Horror Nights last year, with some pretty cool effects. A lot of people miss it, and they still sell merch of it to this day

I worked at an amusement park... sort of some years during college. Specifically, I worked in the medical assistance wing of the park. I wasn't a nurse or anything. Qualification for that job was more "can you do CPR, and do you know first aid?" Spent most of my time just helping people who had gotten too much sun. In any case one day, I was sitting back in the medical building when I start hearing an 'all hands' call coming from one of the roller coasters. All hands things happened so rarely, I had to ask what it meant, and it was basically anyone who can help, had to drop everything they had and come to the location. When I got there, we found security pushing people back from the ride, medical surrounding one area, and several people up at the roller coaster's station. I got sent up there to help tend to a patron who had broken their ankle pretty severely on the ride, and a couple others who had suffered some kind of trauma to their feet. It wasn't until the supervisors came around stating that they were closing the park, at least for a couple hours, that I found out what had happened. Some rider on the roller coaster had lost his hat on it, and he really wanted it back. This wasn't an issue, as we'd collect things and hold them for people at the office so they could pick them up the next day. This guy didn't want to wait, so he jumped over the fence, went in to get his hat, and got decapitated when the roller coaster (one of those kinds where you hang under it) came by. I think he'd actually gotten hit by people's feet, which prompted the other injuries we'd seen. If you think you've heard this story, and know the park... yeah you're probably right. US park for those curious.

Not an amusement park but a water park. We have a slide that's as close to a 90 degree angle as you can get that's about 60 feet high. No matter the slide you go down, even the slow twisty slide, you have to cross your arms over your chest and your legs at least at the ankles, aways staying feet first on your back. Many people unintentionally unconscious on the straight down slide out of fear. We also have a weight limit, but we can't enforce it. We just say please pay attention to all rules of the slide. One guy, we'll over the weight limit, told the guard to shove off when they asked him to assume the position. He went down like a starfish. His heel hit the bottom of the pool causing his ankle to break. When i say break I mean imagine your leg down to your ankle, but your ankle is now 2 inches to the left. No bones broke the skin, but it was a sight to see. Many new lifeguards that year and the guard who responded first....it was his first day. He had just completed training the day before.
@PokeMageTech
@PokeMageTech 4 месяца назад
I was a lifeguard for a bit over a year. With regards to injuries, eye injuries would freak me out because NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT and I would be extremely worried about compound fractures because YOUR BONES BELONG INSIDE YOUR BODY. But, as long as it wasn’t a compound fracture, I think my main issue in dealing with it would be “he’s fucking heavy”.
@SilverMoon-qx5hn
@SilverMoon-qx5hn 4 месяца назад
@@PokeMageTech oh it was super freaky for that guard. He said man was super heavy and all he could think was "It's my first day and this guy's leg looks like a bend straw." The guy who broke his ankle sued the city as it's owned by the city. It took over 7 years and they settled with him because we couldn't prove that the guard told him to cross everything or that he'd read the warning signs. We now have bigger signs and yell a chant so others can hear us telling patrons to cross their arms and legs, stay on their backs feet first. This was the first year that pool was opened. We've since seen a lot of other things. Once saw a kid walk on the grate, slip, bounce his head off the side blacking his eye and when he slipped you could hear a pop. He broke a couple bones in his foot. On a lighter note saw a toddler eat a butterfly that he'd caught mid air after 30 minutes of chasing it

I worked at a Six Flags as a ride operator back in the mid-80's. One day I was sent to operate the Round-Up, a stand up spinning ride that tilts up into the air at about 45 degrees. I start the ride, it gets up to full speed, then I pull the joystick back to raise the ride into the air. As the ride nears its maximum height, a huge splatter of spaghetti and marinara sauce get spewed across the operating booth plexiglass. I immediately hit the emergency stop button, and the ride comes back down and slows to a stop. I then rush over to see if everyone is alright. According to the guests on the ride, a little girl vomited up her lunch which mostly ended up all over my operating booth. Luckily the plexiglass protected me from becoming covered in it. Thankfully I had a full 5-gallon cooler full of ice water, which I used to wash the yucky, stinky, vile mess off of the windows. I didn't even know our park sold spaghetti.

Regarding safety: Loosely there are two kinds of amusement park, travelling and permanent. Permanent park have fairly good safety, but are full of teen workers making minimum wage and even the better positions have high turnover. This is a problem because you have poorly trained staff and a lack of consistency. Travelling parks are the opposite, well-staffed but inconsistent safety. The workers are a fairly tightly-knit group and while there is a lot of turnover, it's turnover between different companies, fairs, and positions. There's a lot of people who have been on the circuit for decades and have worked a different company every year. Problem is that the rides are decades old and minimally maintained. Also, no machine is really designed to be taken apart, driven a few hundred km, and put back together again every week for 50 years. I wouldn't freak out about it, but I wouldn't be in line to be first on a ride, either. Source: Spent about a decade working with a couple of ex-carnies. For them, getting jobs at a casino was settling down and being responsible in their old age. [@20:00 - I would definitely check out Opossum Catastrophe.]

Story #3 - I wonder if that radio station got sued, because I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Story #18 - Oh goodness, yes. Head wounds bleed like crazy, even if it's a tiny little cut. Years ago, when I was 11 or 12, my brother's friend, who was younger than me, got hit in the head with a baseball. It split the skin under one of his eyebrows and, according to my brother, it was bleeding so much, he thought his friend was dead. I think 6 or 7 stitches later, he was fine. Had a huge bruised lump on his head for some time though.

Hi. I used to be a lifeguard, and hopefully after watching you don’t need to be told, but nearly all pool rules are either directly or indirectly for your safety. Directly for your safety are things like “don’t run on the pool deck”, the activity is forbidden because it significantly increases the risk of injury. Indirect safety rules are things that make it easier for us to keep everyone safe, to watch everyone.

I remember an accident in a traveling fair in the town after ours. I don't know what the ride is called but it's a long arm with only four seats - two on each side - and it goes 25 meters up in the air and travels with 90 km/h. (I think that was the right speed and height but it was a couple of decades ago.) It was a big thing back then since there were only 6 of these carousels in the world and one of them was here in little Denmark. A guy fell out of it on top and died. He was a big man and the security belt couldn't close completely, and the young guy in charge of running this carousel felt bad and still allowed him to ride.

For all the small kids being short ones, I think a friend of mine has a great idea for kids in amusement parks. She would prefer to take kids to amusement parks like Disney when they're old enough to remember and somewhat give a sh*t. Her logic being, with the Disney example at least, at least give them a chance to remember what's going on and on top of that they should be tall enough for at least some of the "non-kids" rides. Which I can understand, my first time at Disney world I was 2 and only remember main street and me cutting in line to meet Chip and Dale.

Ive managed to jump off a ride when it was just starting to go. If i had timed it wrong i could have lost my foot. I was like 14 and just had this rush of fear. That kind of fear just is not rational, you'd do anything toget out of the situation, even if the plan is stupid and you're better off staying put. I was told off by the person working the ride, my cousins and older sister were really confused and i just walked up the hill where my folks were whilst they scolded me. I tore off my wrist band cus i didnt want to ride anymore rides. Hell i still don't ride that many to this day cus i know i'll do something irational and I'd much after be the bag watcher. It was a water ride, hence why i was able to jump off onto the platform where you get into the boats. It was called the wild rapids rafting and had a few steep drops that just scared the shit out of me. I've never liked heights since. When my mom and I went to italy we both wantedto see mount velusis. However the roads to that volcano are twisty and tiny and we were in a massive coach. I had another panic attack and when we stopped halfway (theres a gift shop there) i point blank refused to get back on the coach. Mom had to pay something like 200 euros to send me back to the hotel where I stayed by the much safer (to me at least) pool. It also didnt help that my dad phoned me to calm me down and told me a story about a time he was on a coach and one of the wheels was off the road. He was trying to tell me that since it was 2023 safety regulations were way better but it didnt help. Now, if we had gone up in a car, i'm sure i would have been fine, cus with coaches you're a lot higher up than in a car and that really freaked me out. I didnt like seeing down the very steep mountainside

I usually love following channels like this but saying things like “Go ahead disagree with me if you wanna be wrong” is kinda of an arrogant thing to say, don't ya think? Regardless of the topic
