A trike with a “hang glider style”wing can generally be flown in more wind and can operate from the airport to airport using paved runways. The pilot has roll and throttle like a powered parachute but also full pitch control. Here is a demo of what these can do. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Thng6dDT1Ko.html
What is the use in removing the front off of the main body ? It doesn’t appear to me to create a more compact design for transporting or storage. Also, what advantages does this have over a PPC ?
It lowers the wing from 9 feet tall to 5 feet allowing to go inside of an enclosed trailer. This also supports the wing for transportation and allows the pilot to reach the wing without a ladder for set up and folding. Trikes can fly from airport to airport, can takeoff and land on a runway with a crosswind, can go faster and fly in more wind (in most cases) , and do not run the risk of an inflated wing collapsing during flight.
