From the 1977 James Bond film 'The Spy Who Loved Me', Amy Macdonald performs a stripped back piano version of the Carly Simon classic 'Nobody Does It Better', in the Radio 2 Piano Room for the Ken Bruce show.
This is the place where a whole variety of recognised stars can really come unstuck. Solo singing accompanied by either lone acoustic piano or single guitar. Nowhere to hide here. Nothing to hide behind. Kudos to the ones who dare to do it. I don't think Adele, Ariana Grande, the late Luciano Pavarotti, the amazing Freddie Mercury or a 24 year-old Elton John would have a problem. But they are and were some of the best live singers I have ever heard. Got to give this girl credit for having the guts to even step up.
@Richard Christopher Of course it was meant to be funny. I was referring to the fact you had basically replied the same thing to more than one person on this video. If you didn't mean it to be funny, then it's a terrible waste of time. Anyway, I think she's great.
Remember that this is a live recording, only voice and piano, no magic autotune boxes etc. Most people have only heard Carly Simons studio recording, so hard to compare.
Who doesn’t know the words to Nobody Does It Better? Why the crib sheet? Sorry, but bar the piano player, who done a really good job, this is poor effort.
This is the Best Bond song with vocals (OHMSS is still the best) & I love Amy but OMG, Amy! PLEASE change your hair back to it's natural colour. This just does not suit you at all
It was rushed to intensive care and immediately put on life support, but despite massive resuscitation efforts, the injuries were too severe and it was declared dead at just after midnight. It is now buried in an unmarked grave in Amy MacDonald's garden at the back of a Gorbals tenement in Glasgow.
So bad. She managed to remove every bit of emotion of the song. The vocal technics she employed serve no purpose and carry no feeling whatsoever. It is so strict that it's almost military.
@frankie4you2013hmmm. the way her voice sounds (her tone) just doesnt resonate with me at all. Could be an accent. I hate the way ellie goulding sings tho too lol. The accent is annoying
