I was hoping he'd address that line, "but if my daddy thinks I'm fine". She obviously wasn't fine, and his stubbornness about that helped kill her. But, we only know what we know until we know more, and parents that traumatized their children likely ended traumas themselves that they haven't dealt with... This world beats up the brightest souls
I think that she was a victim of narcissistic abuse from a very young age. Although she loved her dad dearly, I think he is a narcissist. I don't think anyone in her life actually valued her feelings or created a healthy landscape for her to share her struggles. She then was forced into fame which is a larger narcissistic dynamic - and as an empath, she was constantly fighting a battle she wasn't equipped for. Although I think it's nice that her parents try to carry on her legacy, I feel she was completely and utterly betrayed and abandoned by seemingly everyone in her life when the world turned it's back on her. Her story is a tragedy not because of her own failures, but the failure of the people and the industry around her which was filled with absolute serpents and leeches. She was a pure heart, an angel in many ways even though she did not love herself at all in a healthy way - God loves her so much. I am so grateful she existed, for her soul, creativity, talent and energy. She didn't deserve the end she faced. She still doesn't get the credit and respect she deserves. It's really dark what happened to her, there is evilness attached to what she dealt with while she was alive. Pray for her to this day!

So much truth in what you say here! 15 year old Amy told her parents she was bullimic.. nobody took her serious. She shouldve been in therapy from a young age 💔

The fact that there was so much proof in her last live show that something was wrong and none of her team did anything just kills me. She could have been saved. Maybe not forever, but that night could have gone differently. She should not have been doing that show.
I lost respect for Mitch when Amy was on that island,to get away cause she was so messed up,and her father turns up with a film crew;seems like I recall her saying something like "really,dad?!"..showed he didn't care about her
Totally remember that scene and she was all F.... up and he was like "oh she´s fine". He was working on an album also and that was all that it matter to him at the time!!!!! No respect for him!!!
We have to remember that she was on that island for rehab and he was in fact her manager! It was bad taste but I do understand what his intentions were when he did it. He mopped up several of her messes going behind her when she was screwing up! The film crew was more damage control to prove to everyone that she was fine and so she could go back to work. At this time, he was ignorant to the fact that she needed long term treatment instead of just some 28 day program. Which is basically what he did with her and he admitted to that. That is why he started a rehab to help other women like Amy because he is now aware of what doesn’t work.
He even wanted Amy not to go to rehab for her alcohol problems just because in that dark moment it could serve as inspiration for more songs. And if he was her manager and so close to her new proyects, why he didn't realize how bad she was in her last days. In my opinion, he loves more amy's money than his own daughter and now everything he does is to capitalize amy's name

He is full of SH*T. "She stopped drinking 5 and a half weeks before she died" newsflash, amy had her last big concert on 18 -06 -2011 where she was drunk. On 23 of july 2011 she passed away. Thats 5 weeks later. Means she directly would have stopped after that show, but still the facts arent 100% true. The fact that he lies about such a small detail about tells what kind of person he is, he is the person that brought a camera crew to film amy when she wanted to stop drinking, and he justifies it. It was amy who gave permission he says. But it was his idea, with the intention to give others strength who dealed with addiction he says. He also says that it is hard to deal with how to handle addiction. Yes, BUT at least admit that filming her in that state wasnt what she needed, not from anyone, specially not her father. In an interview he was asked this and he disagreed. Well its just sad, and i dont know if amy forgave him and if he can admit and forgive himself but i quess its easier to give a blind eye then admitting he is a lying selfish father that lost his daughter with his absence of needed support.
Which charity is he going to donate some of the profits he is making of his deceased daughter? I bet he created or will create his own charity under her name.

Amy Winehouse was a great singer, and her music sounds great, but if she didn’t smoke cigarettes, if she didn’t do drugs, if she didn’t drink alcohol she’d be alive today. I tell people this all the time to keep your body clean and healthy & what bothers me is they never listen to me & that’s why those people are not here anymore. It doesn’t matter if a person is famous, rich or poor, doing drugs does not make anyone cool, its stupid. I’ve lost some family members & some friends many years ago from drug & alcohol addiction in which I tried to get them help, nothing worked. Anyways keep your body clean. Eat an apple, eat some fruits & vegetables so you can live longer that way. God bless you all.

I’ve just watched her last performance, it was a disaster. She could have been saved , even at this point. She was beyond saving herself, but those around her should have stepped in. Instead, now they are still cashing in from her music in 2024.
