@@avarast I agree 100% I can't say she died in vain, but sure would be amazing if she was allowed to have a breather/pause so she could stop and think, be herself without pressure

I feel like her mind is in another place. The words come out of her effortlessly but her mind is somewhere else. She deserved so much more than what she got.
Another place: agreed, Amy's not simply singing, but living those lyrics. She poured her heart onto paper and into performance, drawing from a deep well of raw life and raw emotion = raw power, raw beauty
@Boost , you don't know what addiction and depression is. This is why people die . People like u don't take mental health seriously . She had big signs of mental health problem and it didn't help as her label and father forced her to perform when she didn't want to or wasn't fit to perform.
+Space Lion For some performers, it helps them with "stage fright". Many performers need alcohol or drugs to get over that. They subsequently die because of it.
Take it from a guy who was around...she wasn't fully appreciated while she was alive. There was a LOT of negativity toward her drug use and erratic behavior.
I knew her and her music because of my mother. I was six years old when she died. I still know how I reacted to her death. I watched the news on TV and was super confused.
she was and still is, in my opinion, one of the greatest female artist of all time. yes, she had an addiction problem, but that didn't make her any less of a person than you or me. many, and I'm talking like 75% of people in the music industry have no choice than to turn to drugs and alcohol so that they can get over all the pressure the media puts on them. we will never know how hard it can be on a person, they're human too, Amy was a human, and she had a beautiful soul. RIP Amy, you're gone, but never EVER forgotten.
Very true, she was one of the greats, and I believe a bit out of her time period. We forget many others (Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Syd Barrett, Sly Stone, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, etc.) - - who all battled some sort of drug addiction.
Her talent (and addiction history) is very similar to Billie Holiday. Her style and unique voice was also very reminiscent of Billie. Both were lost far too soon.
Thank you, Carveritup, for putting it so perfectly. Watching this performance, I'm amazed and deeply saddened at the same time. What an incredibly talented and lonely young woman. RIP Amy.
Absolutely amazing. Loved the look at the end where she glances at the audience like, "damn, hope they didn't notice." It broke my heart when she lost her voice and timing. Amy was a superstar talent, and she did it effortlessly. I don't know if she ever realized how good she really was.
No! Her timing was way off in this recording, she was disrespectful of the supporting musicians and audience by appearing so drunk. Very sad story all round.
Lorna Murdoch Eaton she sang that song in the way she created it honey, go back to your 8 cats and your bingo nights and your lil sewing machine you 65 year old Betty.
She could sing like this even when she was hammered. Such a shame that all the stresses of being famous and having a toxic family life forced her into substance abuse. Imagine how great her career would've been.
Amy was truly an icon. Not only did she have an incredible voice, she really wore her style well, the way she wore her hair, the eyeliner, all of it. RIP AMY WINEHOUSE
I love how she took a drink in the middle of the song, messed up and then laughed it off like nothing happened it shows what a free spirit she was, I miss her sm😭😭
Or...she's incredibly drunk/high and doesn't give a f*ck... I love her music and this song but sadly she's very obviously wasting away in this video and in the height of her addiction. Look up stuff from 4-5 years prior. She looks like a totally different person.

Something that i love about Amy is when ever she sings a song she sings it differently each time, instead of trying to replicate the recording and it truly makes each performance special in its own way.
Inacreditavel alguem com tanto talento morrer assim jovem, se perder no alcool, nos perdendo artista bons como ela, e ganhando cantores ruins sem talento algum, se acharem o maximo... Amy faz falta
I kinda feel like when she was alive people trashed her and now that she is dead they now talk about how they love her messed up it doesn't matter how you treat them when there dead it matters how you treated them when they where alive
I think despite the shit talk everyone prefers it for you to be alive and on whatever drug than dead. So the same people who talked shit about her being fked up at the time are still around shaking their heads wishing she'd rehabilitated. Very few people, even trolls on the internet want someone dead. I was too young to wish her ill when she was around but now that I'm just discovering her I truly wish she'd have gotten on the right track or pulled a Sia.
so true! that's one trrible thing about humans. I never trashed her, always defended her when people did and it pains me to see how mean people can be.
With all my respects for all the others singers in any language, that is the best performance of this century, without a drop of doubts, simply magistral.
that 1:17 "Busy" is like eargasm and she does it without any kind of effort, she knew exactly where to put and hit the notes without needing to practice that beautiful flow of notes omg no one would ever compare to her RIP
When I was on a medical leave in 2007, I discovered Amy. She was unique & talented & her voice, there was nothing like it. Thank you for the music you gave us. RIP Amy Winehouse. ❤🙏🏼
How is it possible to love and miss someone that you never known? I love you, Amy. You are the only person who could ever understand what I was going through. You are the real artist of the 21th century… I love you with all my heart…
there was nothing occasional about her dancing. it was something she couldnt help with because she was hopeless. i can never understand understand pple like you validating her choices. it was clearly a sign for help
@@icebearforprez i don’t think it’s that deep actually, ofc she had problems with drinking etc which probs caused her to be a bit for “jiggly” is some performances, but i think she just like dancing to her amazing music
@@MB-vu7ue im assuming you dont have to deal with alcohol or drug addiction. because i am, and from what i see. i know exactly what she feels just from her eyes. because i am dealing with these problems. be glad you dont have to understand what she was going thru, because i do
Many have commented on Amy's intoxication. And have said how brilliant she was under the influence. It's amazing how technically gifted she was and made singing, from a technical standpoint, appear so easy. It makes you wonder how she may have changed or flourished further over the coming years as many of us do. After all, she was young. We all make mistakes when we are young. She didn't seem to deal with fame very well, right? Most people wouldn't!
there was a lot more underneath her addiction than merely fame. If she were able to conquer her addiction, she would have been necessarily a completely different person. Her music wouldnt have been what it is. The kind of music she couldve given us couldve been amazing. But we're no entitled to it. She lived and she died and she left us amazing gifts in her wake. All thats left is a provocation to not repeat our mistakes with the loved ones in our lives lest they end up ill like her. thanks
i jst watched the "AMY" movie.. damn. She's a one of a kind woman. with all the Anxiety and personality disorder she never know she had, its a surprise she last long.. i mean she could have committed suicide but she didn't t, it only proves how strong she is.. but i guess we all have Limits and she reach hers. love you baby! rip my little mermaid.
Heard the name for years but never stopped to sample the music but it's my loss. What a unique voice and presence. A sad sad loss for all of us. She's wonderful.
The way she handles the segment starting at 2:37 and lasting for about 11 seconds is just amazing; I don't know if it was planned or some on-the-fly improvisation, but it's terrific.
So many people are saying that its her choice and fault and if she really wanted to recover she would recover.. but it's almost impossible to recover if your closest ones are abusing you and actually make it hard for you to do so. I think a lot of people failed this girl who had very deep and loving soul. She may look badass but underneath all of that there was a girl with old soul. And sadly our world is full with careless and harsh people...
This shit just gets sadder and sadder with every day that passes. She was so talented and on the way to the very tippy top. Especially in the early 2000’s, people would rather pretend somebody who is obviously struggling is fine so that it doesn’t affect their image. But all it does is allow people to die.
Nothing wrong with the remaster of Valerie & other great songs, much appreciate listening to Amy on these concert songs hearing more of her talented singing voice. RIP to her
When I was a small girl, my dad used to watch her on tv, she used to creep me out. Don't ask me why. She just gave me this weird feeling and it made me scared. Now I'm older and Amy doesn't scare me anymore. Now I see that she was sick and not scary. I feel bad for her and I think its sad how she has lost her battle. But she will forever be one of my heroes. ❤️ im sorry Amy
@@marirosebr Continua sendo R.I.P Naya e Amy, a circunstância da morte de ambas foram tragédias, então não tira o fator de pedir que elas descanse em paz...
I noticed this girl just as she was falling. I am a musician of over 50 years and happened to see a song name Me and Mr Jones and wondered who could top Me and Mrs Jones. After listening to her sing Me and Mr Jones I jumped straight onto who she was. That was 6 months before she died.
It's true I feel like I sing better after a drink or two, I think because alcohol loosens and relaxes the muscles and your larynx aka voice box is a muscle so it relaxes and makes it easier to sing and at the same time the alcohol un stifles you and loosens you up makes you sing better
Demention94 plenty of musicians perform high unfortunately. they either micro dose (not as often) or just take a "key" (much more often). they're not horrible people for doing so, they've just been thrown into an industry that tends to create certain habits, and when you never hav to worry about money (or at least in the moment) its hard not to accept something that literally kills all pressure. now for me i can't tell if she's high, she probably isn't. but to say a trained musician can't perform unless their sober is more defensive of our favourite musicians than factual. for instance lennon took LSD by mistake when the beatles were in the studio (he took it from his pill box thinking it was an upper)
no it was her goin deeper into the abyss. it was a sign for help. if you saw her eyes and didnt know that it was an escape, be glad you dont have to go thru what she did, but i can relate and trust me, she deserved so much more
It's not Black or White; they are two great artists. Art is hard, that's what is not being said. It's the only craft that will take everything from you.
I completely agree what you are saying. By the way, hope you enjoy this cover made by a peruvian singer who imitates her. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ifXfMPpVe1U.html
I think it's amazing how she makes singing look as effortless as breathing. Just the look on her face is just like, "what? Isn't that everyone sounds like?" I mean she's most likely very drunk and still sounds better than a lot of people who make it big these days. Just phenomenal.
EVERY 1 WHO HAD SOMETHING NEGATIVE ABOUT HER KICK ROCKS SHE HAD AN AMAZING GIFT PERIOD SHE HAD COURAGE SHE SANG SLURRED OR HOWEVER THROUGH IT ALL....AT LEAST SHE SHOWED UP SHE COULD SING ANYTHING WITH NO EFFORT SHE WAS BROKEN BUT HER LEGACY LIVES ON AND UNFORTUNATELY SHE DIED A VERY SAD DEATH HER MUSIC IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE AND WILL NEVER DIE SHE WAS HUMAN AND WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES.....AND GUESS WHAT CANT NOBODY UNSING HER SONGS SHE WAS PRICELESS GOD BLESS YOU AMY THANKS FOR GIVING US YOU
Sim horrível a apresentação dele, nada contra mas essa música é bem difícil de cantar até pra quem tem uma voz boa (o que não é o caso dele), deveria ter escolhido uma mais fácil pra não ficar tão ruim kkkkkkk
There is one thing that truly fills me with rage; when people refer to Amy Winehouse as “a train wreck”, “A bad role model” or worse “just a junkie”. Yes, she was eccentric, she was bold, she used drugs, she was open about her eating disorders and her behavior was boozy, messy and chaotic. She was damn rock star. She walked about in blood-soaked ballet flats, her beehive held high. From Jagger, to Jimmi Hendrix, to Kurt Cobain, to Iggy Pop, to Lou Reed, male stars have used drugs, turned up on-stage drunk or high, got into fights, trashed hotel rooms, had ill-considered, public love-affairs, and made a great deal of chaos. Yet rarely has a female rock star indulged in this trend of chaotic living, 'messiness' of this sort has routinely spelt career death for any starlet! She was intelligent, self aware and a non conformist. She belted out her poetic lyrics with the strength and passion of a woman five times her size. Her lyrics were raw, honest and compelling. 'Rehab' ends with a confession that brings an unexpected, raw emotion to anyone who's ever tried to self-medicate for depression: They said, I just think you’re depressed I said, yeah, baby, and the rest… It’s not just my pride It’s just till these tears have dried. She was emotionally anarchic, self-destructive and an unashamed. She had personal demons and issues and she was open, honest and public about them. Thinking any less of her because of her struggles, is simply an appalling disservice to not only Winehouse, but anyone who has lived/lives with addiction or mental health issues.
For everyone saying ....she was a professional drunk or A high -functioning alcoholic and nothing more .. who was always drunk when performing ....2:41 -2:48 even when "drunk" there's not a lot of artists who touch those vocals...she was TRULY GIFTED.
