I respect this guy. "She did a lot more with her life than get high." He's right: we should celebrate the enormous contribution Amy Winehouse gave to the music industry. She was "the real deal," not just some junkie. All she wanted was to be loved. It's so tragic that people are loving her now when she's six-feet under than when she was alive. Have we forgotton she was in her early 20s when she made it big? That's a lot of pressure for a young person. My goodness, I was a hot mess from 24-27 years old and I'm not even talented! We love and miss you, songbird. Your music will live on to inspire generations to come.

She had an unique voice, thats the only thing that seperated her from other people is that she could sing. A lot of people don't have a talent like that. Being able to express yourself through music or drawing/painting is truly a gift.

Mos Def, i love you for this, man ♡ i can't sleep so i'm on an Amy binge tonight (again) & I felt so frustrated by some people's comments on Amy's videos still bringing up the shit & judging, the pity, the self righteousness.. obnoxious, irrelevant. So i wrote a reply to one of those comments, more of a rant actually, i almost didn't post because what's the point right? But still did & then a few videos later, i click on this & there's Mos Def putting my outrage into words. Thank you 😭♡
