Don Oscar i have a couple of your records on vinyl from the angel label, they are sublime!

Is this all a true story? It made my eyes well up with tears. I was born in USA in 1960. My family was very musical and I grew up listening to Segovia's works among many other genres such as classical, folk, pop, Jazz, bolero, bossa, etc. Segovia had an indirect influence on my interest on the Spanish flamenco guitar. From there I jumped to Chet Atkins and Les Paul and the Synthesized electric guitar. Andre's Segovia's legacy is heard everywhere as interpreted by Paco de Lucia, John Williams, Julian Bream, José Feliciano, and others. Rodrigo

The price of a guitar has nothing to do with who has played it, but with the cost of the material, making it and all the associated expenses. Another thing is that you are talking about second-hand guitars which, having been played by X recognised person, may have a higher price than the same model that has belonged to another unrecognised person, but we do not work in that market.

@@Guitarraramirez No, that's not what I'm talking about. Having a famous person play your guitar raises brand prestige, and then the brand can easier command higher price tag. It's an ENDORSEMENT of a highest order. "If Segovia himself played Ramirez, it must be good". This is an excellent selling point. People are willing to pay extra premium for your guitars because they perceive their value to be higher. This is why pretty much every luthier today is trying to list any famous performers that use their instruments. Nike paid a lot of money to Michael Jordan to endorse their shoes and it paid off. Jim Redgate is booked for years because of Ana Vidovic. Another great example of endorsement-based prestige marketing is Steinway Pianos. They perfected it because they exchange convenience for free endorsement. If you knew anything about pianos you'd know that Steinway has this "artist" program where they will provide a concert pianist with a Steinway grand piano for a concert in many cities free of change. However, the artist is contractually obligated not to play any other pianos if Steinway is available. Since other brands don't do this, it creates an impression that whenever there is a concert, it's Steinway piano being played by a famous musician. The goal is to convince the viewing public that "vast majority of concert pianists prefer Steinway". The company also provides much better pianos to the concert halls that it does to the public. A potential buyer will look at concerts and say "everybody who's really good plays Steinway, it MUST be good", so they go and pay significantly more for brand new pianos made by Steinway.
