were all subscribed to a few lego channels so we see a few reviews of the same set BUT ths is the first review i have seen that wasn't just going through the motions to get the video out , you can hear the enjoyment of the build coming through in the way Jang is describing his experience and a first also ive seen is his helpfull hints that he came accross in the build. he's also the only one bothered to swop out the alternative leave build(i like the autumn so i particulary wanted to see this )and not show just a picture. Also he bought this(check out his pick a brick haul vid) and so points out areas that bother him and also areas really enjoyed. In short(haha) really enjoyed this passionate review.

I talked to the author yesterday. According to him, the original design was really not that great, and pretty fragile. Also, they needed to move away from the "ewok tree house" ressemblances (that's way it lost its "lost adventurer" tone for this "familly adventure" mood"). That said, the author said he was consulted every step of the way, and he is way happier with this design than his own. That was some trivia for ya, and thanks for the videos

It's easy to fix, push a technic round peg with a stud on top in to the barrel part of the roll, clip the the stud with bar on to the pegs stud and clip the assembly back on.

At 27:15 you can even see the round peg is included in the extra parts of the set. The blue piece above the paddle at the bottom towards the left.

Maybe an in-between season tree can be created using both the green and the yellow leaves. The canopy would be bigger with twice the foliage, the colors would look awesome and realistic and also the extra pieces would be put to good use.

So many great details in this, even better than most modulars I'd say! (As for the floating roots I also noticed that - how about tiling the surface below and sharing the result with us?)

ah, finally! I waited for this video, your reviews are the best, the image quality makes them a pleasurable experience. After this one I'll watch the speed-build. And bookmark the pure build for when I get my own set. Yes, I'm an AFOB, I'm proud of it and I savour every facet. 17:48 I think that toilet paper is actually rolled up leaves, not paper ... would explain the colour.

I voted for this set on LEGO IDEAS and was really happy to see that it was approved for production. SURPRISE- LEGO changed the entire theme of the set from a Swiss Family Robinson set, using salvaged ship parts as in the novel, to a children's treehouse. So disappointing. Another swing and a miss from LEGO.

Yeah I really liked the original it had a much better tone to it that made it more realistic looking. I understand LEGO taking some liberties but I wish they would stick more to the creators original ideas as it's what we vote for and really want. I can't argue this isn't a nice set but it's just not what I was expecting.

I dont really like this set. The contrast between the color of the leaves looks unnatural. I dislike how there are dark green leaves next to bright green leaves. I also have this issue with the grass with the bright green grass parts on top of dark green parts. Instead of looking shaded, these changes between colors make the build look like a prototype instead of a finished version.

Incredible set, and I do agree that the LEGO version is much preferable (in my eyes) to the fan design. The fan design looks too gloomy. This one looks much more lively. The tree "floating" over the base reminds me of my steam locomotive MOC in which the entire boiler and smokebox are "floating" over the running board due to the use of modified bricks with studs on 1 side, which leaves a half-plate gap above the running board (which is tiled). In my case, however, it's actually accurate to the source material! The utter lack of studs on the staircase is why I strongly dislike tiled floors and other walkable surfaces. I understand the need to use tiles to make certain angular building techniques work, but I feel that tiles should be used sparingly and there need to be a lot more studs to provide more options for placing figures. I especially dislike tiled floors because of how (unnecessarily, IMO) parts-intensive and therefore expensive they are.

Being color Blind, this set is a nightmare to build. All the browns look red, and it’s hard to tell where pieces end and where they begin on the instruction pages

ironlego1998 I agree with it’s difficult to build the trunk, weird attachments. As I started to put on first “room” the entire top of tree feel off and room came apart. Bad design, not sturdy. I’ve waited over a year for this to come out. So disappointed as it looks beautiful finished but not all of us are Jang.😟🧐
