@@flapskeygo I recommend that for the 10 Game Streak Handicap, MBT has to make a deck out of only Legacy Pack pulls. Just keep pulling until he has enough to make a deck
Now, going -3 to pop your own field may seem like a throw, but Doug understands that the sheer psychic damage of the play is enough to score a mental 1-0 on MBT, and that's basically the same thing as winning
MBT:14 DZEEFF:5 MBT win streak 9x MBT wins Egyptian God mirrors (first episode pulled from same pack) MBT wins Crusadia Orcust vs Zefra Shaddoll Dzeeff wins Blackwing vs Flamvell MBT wins D/D/D vs Bujins (good episode) Dzeeff wins Shinobirds Cyber Angel vs Ninjas (rage quit episode) Dzeeff wins Darklords vs Genex (lmao) MBT wins Atlantean Mermail vs Performapal MBT wins Deskbot Wind-ups vs Plunder Furhires Dzeeff wins S-force vs Original Elemental Heroes (10,900 ATK Avramax) Dzeeff wins Zoo Dracofoes vs Impcantation Megalith (VFD appearance) MBT wins Revendread Zombies vs Dogmatika Tri-Brigade (Start of the win-streak) MBT wins BA Magical Musketeers vs Evil Eye (Mbt pulls like 10 URS) MBT wins Kaiju Dangers vs Onomats MBT wins Pendulum Magician vs Harpies MBT wins Chemicritter Magnet Chemistry Dinos vs Infernity (How did the Bastion Pack win?) MBT wins Barian emperor good stuff vs Scraps MBT wins Superheavy vs Level Monsters MBT wins Gladiator Beast vs Red resonators MBT wins Unchained Fire King Nepthys vs X-Sabers (We don't talk about this episode)
Not gonna lie...The Yugi VA Clip at the end made it all perfect like whipped cream and a cherry to top my weekly treat of seeing Doug not read cards and get bullied.
Even a 15 second post game chat and banter is soooo much better than just cutting it right after the final blow and gg. The ending send off with VA was great too!
Yes, this! It's one detail I love about Cimoooooooo's series, he and his co-host always discuss the decks for several minutes. That's especially valuable in the History series, but I appreciate it even in Sealed Showdown.
It's gotten to the point that I saw Saber Slash in his opening hand, a boggart knight and a name for it to summon, and I fucking mapped out in my mind exactly where his turn would go. He'd go to do something sensible, then go "No, I need to go for a big play.", refuse to read Saber Slash, and then blow up his own board.
At this rate, I feel like MBT will probably get the Assault Mode Secret Pack, pull none of the Synchros needed to actually _play_ Assault Mode, and still beat Doug 2-0.
The real pain would be Assault Modes and not drawing Assault mode activate since that would cause more problems for Psi-Reflector and Assault Beast. Though looking at the pack it really is quite funny in how it is bad. Since the assault mode pcack is the /Assault Mode and synchro fusion pack.
BTW, even if that Awakening of Nephthys was face-up, MBT still wouldn't be able to activate its effect because he was Fiend-locked by Unchained Twins - Rakea's effect.
Honestly, I think Doug did better at reading his cards when he was playing in Japanese. I like that Doug said the Unchained pack had 3 archetypes that don't work together. They seem to be working together in game 2 a lot more than the X-Saber pack.
Ngl, archetypes that love getting destroyed IS in essence tough to fight against in sealed format unless you go against them with modern cards. Like, X-Saber have lots of poppers but (IIRC) none of them are non-destruction, so even if Dzeef played this one flawlessly, MBT just going to get lots of momentum anyway from getting Unchained set traps getting popped. This episode really is a gimme for MBT lmao.
The Fire King pack is what I have been waiting for the whole series. I honestly believe that pack is the best constructed "3 archetypes in 1 bundle" secret pack in the entire game. Imagine if they just lumped Fire Kings with Fire Fist (nevermind that Arvata is just better than Eland) and Unchained with some other unrelated Fiend archetype. No they put them all together along with Nephthys, called it "Aroused From Destruction" and that is honestly what it feels like wiping a full board of Pendulum monsters with High Avatar Garunix.
I just have no words. All I'm gonna say is...we are probably going double digits. I'm just... in awe of what happened game one... looked at the time stamp again. took a sip out of my waifu cup filled with hawaiian punch (berry blue typhoon btw), did a big sigh, went out and touch some grass... then came back to comprehend. HOPEFULLY, we don't end up in double digits next week, but..my hope ain't high... Though that game 2 hand Doug had was the mega oof. No helping that, thats just RNG baby. So I'm fine with that. It happens.
It's crazy that Gottoms is a card that came out AFTER Goyo Guardian who is one star lower with 600 more attack, has a better effect, and can also be made with X-Sabers.
Multiple mistakes: Goyo has 2800 ATK, Gottoms has 3100, so that's a 300 point difference. Goyo is 6 and Gottoms is 9, so that's a 3 star difference. Goyo's materials were entirely generic when it was released, while Gottoms has always been restriced to EARTH non-Tuners.
Ok new addition to this show. It is no longer a 2 out of 3, it's a boss rush. You play MBT with 20 packs, if you lose, open 10 more and rebuild deck. Repeat until you win.
It’s actually really cool seeing how much Doug has come out of his shell over the last decade or hell just since the beginning of this series. So so much charisma and so goddamn funny now not that he wasn’t before but it’s definitely increased due to an increase in confidence in general.
In this episode: an epic battle of two packs that both are made of seemingly random archetypes thrown together. The catch: one pack gets held together by the fearsome keyword "destroy". Meanwhile the other feels more like the "roundtable of the knights of the floppy noodle swords"
@@Ragnarok540 And before that he played Infernity and Spirits too, so yeah hes been playing the game for quite a while. It seems like he's just lost his patience to actually sit and read his cards over the years. lol
That misplay didnt even matter. Poor Dzeeff. Youll get him next time for sure, just remember, HEART OF THE CARDS! (Also i really liked the yugi voice outro, that was neat!)
Sometimes, you really forget how to read, that's what Yugioh does to you, that even MBT used Rakea on the Nephtys trap card, he is then fiend-locked, even if it was face-up'd.
I was hoping you would play Reptilianne Echidna since X-Saber Palomuro is a reptile and it comes back from gy and echidna can just reduce the atk of a monster to 0 if it ever came up. 15:35 Funniest moment of the series I love x-sabers and i saw this coming a mile away and the fact you said this is such a throw, i loved that moment honestly saber slash taught me equal is not the same as up to and it always stuck with me but my punishment wasn't this bad so i expect this one to last even longer.
Man Big Doug still can't catch a break, when you get the chance to play something super extra broken you better not apologize for it man, go absolutely nuts.
