This is a very very cool watch.. So unique and attractive.. By making magnifying a circle instead of cyclops it looks soo much better.. The bracelet with black middle links matching rubber bezel and dial its soo nicely coordinated

It is a watch that, when worn on the wrist, holds many surprises. From quality to wearability. When I put it on my wrist I said to myself "this is my watch". Many do not know that the steel of this Muhle was worked with the Kolsterising technique, which makes the metal 3 times more resistant to corrosion. It also makes the steel hypoallergenic and antimagnetic. A unique watch with great build quality.

I did some reading on this technique and it sounds like BS to me. Your corrosion resistance claim, for one, is ludicrous.

@@Hialeah1925 People have tried to alter the performance of common austenitic stainless steels without changing the metallurgy for decades. The fact remains that the nickel content of the 300 series prevents the metal from being hardened. Corrosion resistance absolutely is determined by physical alloying elements. It seems that this process appears to physically impact the surface of the finished part to prevent the initiation sites for corrosion. If this really works, it would be written up and would see widespread commercial adoption. Keep in mind that there is a long history of "magic" post production treatments that promise dramatic results.

I have mine on the rubber strap and I’ve never had a problem with it it’s a fantastic watch and I wish more companies will put the date site glass underneath it’s a much cleaner look

Awesome, thorough and articulate review of a watch that at first glance is reminiscent of the vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf diver that I am a big fan of. The large triangular quarter hour markers with big triangular lume plots reminds me of the Zodiac and I plan to look further into this watch. As a fan of SINN and and owner of the 103 SA B Specìal edition and many PANERAI watches as well as the Rolex James Cameron, this watch reminds me of that level of build quality and bomb-proof engineering. Excellent review, keep it coming.

I've been pining after the new Fortis Fliegers since the F-43 was released in August, but the second I saw this watch, I knew that this is the one I was going to put my money toward. Super video Teddy. Really like the look of this piece. Could I ask what are its likely service requirements ( and their likely costs) assuming regular but fairly unexceptional wear ( ie not as part of some SAR organisation!!)? I am concerned because of the movement modifications which might render it a problem for servicing elsewhere than with Muehle themselves?

Beautiful tool watch. I have two watches ( B & R and Fortis) where I had to cut the rubber bracelet. Nice for a bespoke fit but not for resale because of that reason. You can go down in size but NEVER UP in a drastic way on the rubber.

Just picked up this tool a few weeks ago from Teddys online store- thoroughly enjoying it. I’m curious though- just what TYPE or category does this piece fall under? A cursory review had me initially thinking “diver”, but there’s no bezel and yet it “seems” to hit the mark with all the other dive watch prerequisites. Meh, love it all the same.

It's a really nice watch and very durable but.. I wish Mühle had made 2 improvements. I'd like a push button clasp on the metal bracelet and some improvement to the power reserve of the Selitta. They do an extensive mod of that movement and it's stuck with its 38 hour reserve which isn't great for an automatic watch in 2022. It's good value for money though. You can feel the quality of the build when you put it on.

I bought this a few months back- really cool experience on the wrist. It’s a bit heavy, but balances nice due to the case shape. When Muhle first tested this watch for dive depth, the watch was able to withstand pressure at 2400 m, at which point the steel case-back caved in… the 4mm sapphire crystal didn’t break, nor did the watch take on any water 💯

I have one of these, and while it takes a little getting used to, it is an absolute beast which is surprisingly comfortable. Get it on the bracelet would be my suggestion. It wears a little heavy, but you know instantly when you put it on that it is all business.

If I was into diving it would be a must have , but I just do deep sea dive so a dive watch of that magnitude is of no need especially with that Rubber bezel. I is nice for what its made and design 4 Peace

I've had my SAR for over a year, wear it whenever I do something physical (say, camping, skiing, that sort of thing...), and there's not even a mark on the rubber bezel. You'd probably rip your hand off before the bezel tore.

Don't understand one thing. As per all watch expert you should not change the date between 9 to 3 to avoid any damage to the date wheel. But I found not only you but many watch RU-vidrs changing date within that time frame. You did it at 10:00. So are these Sellita movements are capable to handle date change at any time??

You shouldn’t change the date between 9pm and 3am, if it’s between 9am and 3pm then the date changing mechanism won’t have engaged and thus it’s safe to do.

The problem with these automatic timepieces, especially the ones with their modified movements is the after purchase cost to keep them running in top form. A full service "which has to be done every three to five years" by a certified watchmaker can run into the hundreds.

It was designed for the German Military. They put legibility over fashion for the design. This is actually worn by real military people. You can get specs for cheaper but the cheaper watch won't be as tough.

@@ricchrono5907 I don't think it is a trivial matter to give this watch an ability to dive 1000m. Most professional diving watches are only waterproof to 300m so they obviously gave it such specs for a reason. It is true that most professional divers use a dive computer to assist their dives but it would be useful to have a analog backup kinda like how the NASA astronauts had the Omega Speedmaster handy when their instruments failed. A rotating bezel would be a cool addition to the watch.

The first time I looked at this watch, I liked it. Then after staring at it for a while, it appears to have way too many competing things going on. Each individual element is really nice by itself (too many leading actors and not enough supporting cast). Just an opinion.

Not going to spend that much money on a desk diver. Water resistant /= waterproof. Read the ISO rules. It is all a sham to avoid wsrranty repairs. Too many waterproof watches in that price range.

@@MrDagon007 For the price it damned better well be actually waterproof. But as I said, this ISO language flim flam needs to be put to the sword. Even the water resistance ratings do not mean what they clearly say on them. It is offensive to every watch loving person that watch makes can, if they wish, hide behind false statements.

And with that being said, it’s welcoming sight that unlike most watches, 100 bar is printed instead of 1000m. As the way it’s tested, was to put through pressure, thus 100bar which is more true to what it can withstand.

No it is really highly modified, it jas a unique regulator piece which improves shock resistance on top of the incabloc already in the sellita.

German engineering is EXACTLY the opposite of what you're saying. Maybe the rather kitsch design is german, that's why some may like this. Personally i just find the whole dial interesting, rest is a mix and NOT match. I realise that this is gonna be a left over but this review/selling thing is way off! Good luck selling them LOL
