Its a very beautiful city, if I have lots of money in the future by winning the lottery I would like to travel to New Orleans and visit Morphy's grave in St Louis cemetery and also make a video about it. Take care and stay safe, dear chess friend.

Believe me this was an awesome chess game by the one and only goat in all of chess history. I watch your other uploads but when it's the goat I just cannot resist putting pen to paper. Thks for another rare gem from the romantic era.

Sadly there are not many Morphy games to show from the database, but I'm planning to remake some of the classic Morphy games that I uploaded before in the past. Especially my Morphy videos from 2019 to 2021 is not very good because of my exaggerated commentary in my oppinion, they are very bad. So I'm thinking to remake some of them if I can in the future but again there are still few more Morphy games that I have never showed in this channel, after showing new Morphy games I can remake some of the old ones. Thanks again dear Giri, I hope all is well. Thanks for watching, stay safe and take care.

love the way morphy played...attack, sacrifice, attack, sacrifice, etc. he cared only about position, not about material. this reminds me of the great quote by bobby fischer: "in chess, position is more important than material."

According to Bobby Fischer, one of the Candidates to be the best of all times, Morphy would beat anybody also in our times if he only had the possibility to acknowledge the huge amount of theory that has been developed since his time!

True. Some people say, some chess experts say he would be 1900 or 1800 fide today. Well, I don't know any 1800 that can play blindfold games against 8 people at the same time and make very little inaccurate move and win all of them in a brilliant way. I'm not saying he would be 2800 today but not 1800 too. I think he was more like 2300 fide at least, but with zero modern theory. Thanks for watching.

@@historicalchessvideos8017 morphy would be the world champion today if you gave him a few weeks or months to catch up on the more modern gambits, openings and defenses. remember, morphy had a photographic memory and would learn all of this stuff very rapidly. when morphy was a boy, he memorized ALL of the Louisiana state Legal Codes.

Hello HCV, your channel is great, but can you please stop saying "defending the piece" when you mean "retreating the piece" because that's quite annoying. In English you say "defending" only when the piece stays on the square where it is and gets protected by another piece. Moving the piece away is NOT defending!
