My favourite part, she doesn't even care, probably thinking "where's teddy?". Either way, I'm fourteen and I'd probably wander up the stairs as well, just not to look for a teddy but because I have no "sense of reaction". To be put simply I'm listless and people will probably think I'm unappreciative.
I would completely faint dead away to see my house renovated like this. So classy and family friendly! I just love the kitchen and dining area. Our house is so small for a family of 6 and outdated. But as they say, "less house to clean" and "living small just makes the family closer." (Telling myself that for 11 years;) People complain because they say others far worse off could have been chosen for this. But this family touched Ellen's heart with a direct letter. Kindness, not jealousy:)

What a privilege it is to have a house and have people come and make it look beautiful like this. Some people are very fortunate to be blessed and not even know it nor appreciate the blessings that so many take for granted.

I would give anything if my home could get done i can hardly stand to be there since i lost my beloved phillip six months ago. i cry alot cause everything reminds me of our life i have nothing to work with cause someone broke in and took everything phils kids left me which was not much. i am struggling to pay off phils utility billls just to keep the lights barely on. Ellen if you ever helped this ga girl out u would be proud of your work cause i would truly pay it forward. i am tired of crying and would love to see my house turn into barbies pink dream home. i am just. thinking out loud ellen dont mind me. i love you your show and portia... How do I write to an organization that will help a woman, who took in three foster children and really needs help! She helps animals, as well, but she just does not have the room to really reach her kindhearted potential! One of the children is a special needs, young boy! She lives in a small log cabin that needs a lot of work, how I wish someone would help her! If anyone has any idea's please let me know, she really deserves to be happy and I know people that are better off, with money, could really make a difference in her and the children's life!

They also live in a house instead of an apartment, so they can't be THAT poor. I live in Sweden and am not familiar with the cost of a house in America, but surely it's a lot more expensive than an apartment.
jungla3 Not necessarily. Apartment are really expensive nowadays. It's the down payment for a house the makes it hard for people to buy a house. Plus house need to be upgraded every so offen. So they don't start falling apart. Some family can't afford all the maintenance as a home ages.

i always wonder why the make over houses that are already nice and big. wouldn´t it be better to take over houses that are really not that big like real poor people.
I sleep with my mom and my baby sister 1 years old n so skinny lol and my brother and my dad sleep in the same room cause there are only 2Small Rooms I would rather have this lady's old house before they did a makeover on it cause it was already perfect and big

I love the way how it look now. The interior design was professionally edited and whoah it's a classy to look now. I love the idea of allowing children to write on the walls where you could just erase it easily. Great post Ellen!
