You should watch V's appearance on IU's show "Palette"!! V performed one of his songs and both of them did a duet of one of IU's songs. The interview was also great and you can see how good of friends they are.

Basically, V acted in a K-drama in 2016 but stopped acting to focus on BTS so he has some acting experience. V and IU are close friends & she requested him to be her leading man in the MV before he left for the military.
It has got to feel amazing to personally be selected by another actress to star as the other main character (Even in a music video!!) That just shows how talented he really is and how much she trust him with taking on that role !

The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in South Korea put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel unsecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dysopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of confort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like from Spring Day, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but as in Spring Day MV if you don't forget them you can seem them happy and free where they are now.

Iu has starred in multiple k-dramas already while Tae had appearance on 1 k-drama for numbers of episodes. Their chemistry is awesome! Hope to see them in one drama or movie together in the future! ❤
IU is not only the most famous female recording artist is South Korea, but she has also stared in a number of television and movie productions. V has always shown chops at being a good actor. He did act in a k-drama several years back, truthfully he was a little over the top in it, but that doesn't represent his talent. If you watch him in music videos you'll see how well he gets into character. Also in interviews he shows little personas to play with, or he'll randomly improvise scenes at other times with members. I hope to see him star in a drama someday because he'll be great.
I swear I cried harder after watching this 4-5 minute MV than I did after 2 hours of Titanic. :') I was already emotional when they showed the happy scenes from the camcorder, but I lost it at the end, when they were just helplessly holding onto each other. 😭😭They just looked so scared and vulnerable. Like, how could anyone or anything hurt these two innocent angels? I know it's acting and all, but that was super powerful. And my love for the queen IU just got bigger, so, yeah. 1ST IU wrote the lyrics and produced this MV. IU is a great story teller and often uses her MV's to tell a deeper and more detailed story then the lyrics alone. She has won Songwriter of the year at least 3 times in Korea, as well a numerous songs of the year, Artist of the year, Producer, Composer of the year etc. She as acted in 7 kdrama's with one in the works, including 3 of the most popular Scarlett Heart, Hotel Del Luna and her most notable performance in My Mister. She has 2 commerical al films to her credit including a nomination for Best Actress at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. While she is most amazing in her live performances her MV's play an important part in understanding the story she telling. And some stories span several songs told over a number of years. Her collaboration with a member of BTS was with Suga on her song EIGHT. Which has an very upbeat sound but the song is a Italy about her struggle in dealing with the suicide deaths of 3 friends. In the video she is saving her memories of then because they are starting to fade. She is also angry at her friends for just coming into her life and then leaving without saying goodbye. IU has decided that she doesn't want to love anyone again to protect herself from being hurt. Sulli, who was one of IU's closest friends and the 2nd of the 3 to past away in the fall of 2019, is represented in the video as a 2d animated girl. Who has heard IU's pain. And an unintended consequence of their deaths was the pain they caused the people they love. Sulli has decided to correct that so that IU can love again. She passes through a black barrier into the world of the living where she meets up with a dragon who is Junghyun of Shinee who is the 1st person to pass away. Together they intercept the plane that IU & Suga are on. IU sees then and she smiles, now knowing that her friends a finally happy now and they have said their good byes. Her MV videos are easy to find. Her killing voice performance will give you an taste of her songs. There are several videos of her 2019 Love Poem concert which was iconic, and 2 videos of her 2022 Golden Hour concert for the songs Eight and My Sea. I hope you do take a deeper dive into her. It is well worth it. But WARNING the IU rabbit hole is deep and wonderous, but there is plenty of room.

The meaning of the song is idols getting hate for dating scandals, not fitting the beauty standards etc. The cube represents the netizens who make rumors and then spread hate towards them.. but they still dont let go of their soulmates.. they fight, run from the haters like in the MV they are running from the cube. And through the camera they see themselves very happy, healthy and safe.. this represents what we see on camera about them. They smile, laugh, stay happy, show us they are living the perfect life. But we dont know what happens behind the camera... it also represents what they see too.. they show themselves happy on the camera but they actually see themselves like that behind the camera like the MV.... they fear that when they find their loved ones. The whole world might start hating them. Like they show in the MV that the cube has found them and they try to fight it but at last when they find out its too powerful, so they give up. Just like that its possible that the day they will find their loved ones the whole world might turn on them. They will try to fight it. But when they find out that the hates are uncountable and system is too powerful for them to fight with, they (their lover and the idols) give up, but still hold each others hands, and stay with each other till their last breath... Its actually from my perspective... the meaning might be something else too.

Just so you know, SUGA of BTS have one more song with IU - "eight". Also, both IU and SUGA have their own show on YT where they invited each other (IU has "Palette" and SUGA has "SUCHWITA"). Those eposodes are definitely worth watching, especially if you want to get to know them better in a very carefree environment where they talk about their music and sing together (in Palette). So far we got j-hope, V and SUGA on "Palette" and Suchwita has an episode with all BTS members individually and IU as well. Definitely recommend you to watch it!
IU was a profesional actress beside a singer. She already act a lot of drama. V is a newbie actor, he already act in one drama (2016). V's loves acting, he actually want to act more, but because BTS schedule is really tight and they often have a world tour, so he choose BTS first. But he said, he will comeback to act in drama someday. But, u still can see his act through BTS MV, especially in BTS universe story that u can watch through some specific MVs. He get the most difficult character background in the story, a son who murdered his alcoholic father (i kinda spoiled a little bit lol.. but that a really challenging character isn't it 😁) Beside V, Jin was supposed to be an actor too, that was Jin original dream before he become BTS member. He even choose acting major at his college. But now, he dont really have interest to be play at drama anymore coz he have tasted to acted when he play as the main character in BTS universe story. But he didnt close a chance if someday he will acted in drama, if he get a story plot n challenging character that get his attention to play. We really cant wait to see V and Jin play in some drama someday ❤❤
I imagine they will both have lots of success in the future with acting! You can tell they more gifts and talents outside of just performing and everything involved with BTS. I know for them BTS comes first and I very much respect that! However, they should star in more movies and dramas in the future ! 🙂
There are so many idol singers who act that they have a k-drama category called idol dramas. IU has been in tons of dramas and is also one of the leading female music artists in s korea. V is the only member of BTS who has acted in a drama and it was just one but he costarred with some of the top actors who taught him a lot and he is still best friends with them today. He is a fantastic actor and model because he is really great conveying emotion physically and musically. When you get into his solo stuff you will see what i mean.
If V acting in any movie in future... it will be Box Office for months, the whole world will be crazy. “God himself worked on him”.. yea, now we got the most hansom face in the world for few years💜💜 This song ended with happy ending, IU show their happy life video when she sang this song during her concert tour.

A couple years ago, an article was published about the highest paid actors in Korea. They said from the offers that have been made to him, if he were to take it, he would be the highest paid actor in Korea I suspect when he is back from the military he will look at acting more seriously.
It's funny, you say you are a member of the group, and in a way you are, because if you call yourself BTS ARMY, you are the eighth member of the group. BTS consider ARMY part of them. BTS=ARMY and ARMY=BTS. APOBANGPO means ARMY and BTS forever. AND by the way, V and IU are both established actors. V acted in a historical drama called Hwarang, and I'm not sure about IU's acting credits, I just know that her acting is well known and praised. I can't watch this video without crying. IU and V are "not perfect" for the world, so the cube is basically killing those who have flaws. When they look thru the camera lens they are seen in a way that shows them how society wants them even though the ppl in the background still dont like them.
I didn't think about it like that with the camera before. Although I do believe them seeing each other through the camera is in a different kind of world, I thought it was how they see the other person in a "normal" world were they are not attacked and can live their own way. But I understand now thank you!
This MV was heartbreaking and tragic while also being incredibly beautiful. I guess that's also what life is though. The cinematography was stunning, the vocals haunting. I agree, both IU and V are incredibly talented and did a fantastic job on the visuals. Made me cry.
I just thought the cube represented aliens, evil or the bad guys. I lost it when she takes her hand and puts it over his good eye, so he couldn't see what was happening. Then the tear falls down her face and you can see their ending on the camera. I fell apart. The Title of the Song fooled me. I kept believing, even seeing the end coming, that all was going to be fine. Love Wins All. You can pretend it's fine, if only for moments.
