The official subtitles are generally good. They don't always translate word to word, but they do convey the meaning, which is very important. So I think you are pretty safe to take it for what it was. However, keep in mind that this is BTS. They often have messages and references and meanings that aren't immediately apparent and ARMY spend a lot of time discussing the lyrics to their songs. Mic Drop is pretty straightforward, but there are songs that are much harder to interpret just by reading the lyrics without background knowledge. But in those cases, we will help as much as we can. We've studied for years 😂 Also, please don't worry about not getting their names this soon. You're doing great. We've all been there. There's seven of them, there's so much to pay attention to and they change style and hair color all the time. This just comes with time, as you watch them more.

RM is the only one that speak English fluently. He help other members to and guide to speak English. Other members are learning English now and they are more good in English now comparing then. BTS speak Japanese too they have a Japanese songs that is very normal for Kpop groups to have a Japanese album. BTS Japanese album is their new singles and their Korean songs that has Japanese ver. BTS speak Japanese for their Japanese album and they are very good speak in Japanese. They have a concert in Japan before and they speak Japanese only. I'm 58 yo and love BTS. Also love KPOP in general. I was in the hospital when a the daughter of a friend of mine had me start watching Run BTS variety show to help cheer me up and it worked. They are not only talented musicians they're hilarious in general and it made it more easy to get to know who was who and get their personality.

I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October 2022 where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time but sooo worth it. The faces take time. They each have very distinct voices, so for me it was easier to identify them by their voices at first, then I learned the faces. But of course, Jim, RM, V have very distinct faces. Hang in there with us.

Please don’t stress too much about the names. One day you’ll suddenly realize you just know them. As long as you’re interested in learning and trying, that’s all that matters. If you want to really hear them rap, you need to dive into the rap line songs - Ddaeng, UGH, Outro: Tear, and the cyphers to name a few.

BTS are based in Hip Hop it's goes through all their albums and the 3 Rappers all have solo Rapp Albums in fact Suga (aka Agust D)'s latest solo album D-Day holds the record as the only Rap album to sell over 1million physical copies on it's release day. I've have that album I pre ordered it like many of us and then had to wait for the release date before it could even be shipped out. J Hope's Rapper last Album Jack In The Box and of course RM's Album Indigo. In fact I all the member's physical solo albums, just awaiting on Jin's. If you like rap I would suggest: cypher 1, 2, 3, and 4., Ddeang but you'll require the explanation notes as their are far too many cultural references to be able to understand it. ARMYs are always delighted when BTS manages to “catch” new fans. I have been an ARMY for 2 years and I am 55 years old. All of us (non-Asians) had difficulty memorizing names and then telling them apart. All their common songs contain Rap and Singing but there are songs only in Rap or only in Singing. All of their works are fantastic. My favorite RAPs CYPHER 4, Persona (RM only), Cypher 3 and UGH! And yet, I don't really like RAP but their RAP is a response to the hate they received.

I have listened to rap in English, Russian, Bulgarian and Korean. My personal opinion is that the Korean language is the most impressive especially when it comes to rapping… Greetings from the 50-year-old ARMY from Bulgaria!

Steve Aoki is a famous American DJ and Music Producer I don't follow American artist's but I've known about Steve Aoki's work for number of years eg since 2012 before I knew about BTS. I'm in the UK. Too me it's Mic Drop lite I prefer the version they do for Asian Award Show's and at concerts with a live band with heavy bass and the extra insane hard dance breaks.

Welcome to the fandom! Here's a helpful hint for telling who's who... Rap line: RM (group leader and one of the main songwriters), Suga (one of the main songwriters and producer), J-Hope (one of the main songwriters, dance leader). Vocal line: Jimin (songwriter, countertenor, lead dancer, shares choreography duty with J-Hope), Jin (oldest of the group, songwriter, high note specialist), Jungkook (youngest of the group, main dancer, songwriter, sub-rapper), Taehyung aka V (songwriter, comic relief between songs). Jimin's voice is very distinct and you'll be able to identify him within two or three songs. Four at the most. This song, there's only a video for the remix. The original is mostly in Korean. The order of group members is J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, RM. V and Jungkook verbally change places on the second "Did you see my bag" section. The first one is V then Jungkook, then the second one is Jungkook then V. I definitely recommend checking out their solo videos to help you remember who is who. To help narrow your search I suggest putting BTS first, then the member's name. Like this: BTS Jin songs. The first one you should see is "The Astronaut" with Coldplay. There are others but I'm not quite sure of the names. (I've only been ARMY for a few months.) Suga, though, is an anomaly. He also has mixtapes out under the name AgustD. (Suga spelled backward with DT for Daegu Town, which is where he's from in South Korea.) As for group songs, I strongly recommend "No More Dream", "Not Today", "Fire" and "Dope". "No More Dream" was their first song ever, and the video for it is amazing. (It also has an introduction to each member). I've said this elsewhere but I'll say it here too. I like all of them equally, but my bias is Jimin. There's just something about him that drew me in.

There are songs by the entire rap line (RM Suga J-Hope), my favorites are the Cyphers 3 and 4. There are songs by the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook). There is a dance line but everyone dances. There are plenty of songs with the whole group. And solos! 300 songs MINIMUM, not all are videos, you'll have to dig into concert videos, award shows, and special shows! Have fun! You're doing great!

BTs can do any genre. They have songs that every genre you want like Edm Pop Hip hop Acoustic R&B Latin pop Ballad But I think they don't have Rock genre

Don't worry about getting all the names straight early in as there are seven members , and unless I was able to see a still shot, I couldn't always identify who was who in the mv as they were dancing🙂. Honestly the subtitle translations are pretty good. But BTS is well known for deep meaning and word play, so sometimes an explanation from Korean natives can help uncover more depth. I think Suga's reference to Ratatouille was just to say haters are flavorless. Hehe

The 3 rappers in the group (affectionately called the Rap Line). Have song with just the 3 of them, just like the 4 vocalists (vocal line) have songs with just them. I think you would be interested to watch a live performance of the rap line doing their song Outro: Tear at Wembly Stadium. Do a search for the one with English Subtitles already added, since most live performance videos don’t have closed captions.

I just binged watched all of your BTS content. I really enjoyed your reaction. I see you are a gamer, I am as well. There is a saying that BTS finds you when you need them most. I am 56 years old and a retired 911 dispatcher. BTS found me in 2019 and I needed them so very much. They helped me through a dark depression with suicidal ideations. Their music literally saved my life. Anytime I am feeling down, I watch their videos whether music or fun videos. As an American, I do have one suggestion for you. When you listen to the Rap songs or even most of their songs, check to see if there is an explanation video. DKDK-TV has excellent ones for the rap. Spring Day is a song I highly suggest watching the Italian explanation video with. There are things in the Korean culture that we are not familiar with. If you have the explanation, the song will always hit harder because you understand what the meaning behind it is. Their rap songs are fantastic. My favorite BTS song is TEAR. The live version at Wembley Stadium is absolutely wonderful. The solo albums by each member are wonderful. My 2nd favorite song is by JK and produced by Sugar called "Stay Alive", the theme song to their Web-Toon . Keep going, you are doing great. I love watching people discover BTS. I do wish new reactors who duscover BTS would watch the explanation videos about them, their journey and ARMY and the meaning behind their songs. Many presume that they are like western artists and get it all wrong. South Korea is not super Liberal so they very rarely sing about love, sex and romance, they are so passionate about their music that often they sing about their fear of losing their passion. They are so talented that the world doesn't know what will hit it when they return from the military in 2025. All 7 are amazing, 3 rappers 4 c Vocalists they all write, produce and are amazing dancers too. Their dance practice videos are so amazing. Many reactors i see are mainly American so they always say oh BTS are influenced by the US when there is in fact a whole world out here, in the UK we have many artists who BTS are influenced by too.
