I have the old jitterbug and it does makes a difference. I use my tv as a streamer and most of the time use it in the tv. But now i just had to plug it into my computer setup again! instantly 3 times better :)
Not only the USB port noise is the issue, but also the supplying power is also the problem. None of the USB ports are created equal, even from the same brand. Most of them are "cheap made", or very much "budget concerned" for a consumer product. Therefore, the USB ports on any consumer products are not designed for good quality of supplying decent grades of audiophile requirements. That's the reason why you are hearing different quality of sound from different USB ports, even on the same computers.
Listening to this from my PC via Topping E50 + Marantz PM6007 amplifier to a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 200 6G speakers. I can hear a difference. Without the JB, the music is just the music, with it the music sounds much tighter, better definition all round by comparison. I have ordered one today. I wont use it for the E50 dac as that handles jitter already but I will use it for my JBL Quantum Duo which are plugged directly into the PC without an external dac via USB so I reckon it will be an effective upgrade.
New vid! Even through my phone i heard a difference, main thing i noticed was that there was more body to the sound, looked like it gained resolution. Also, something amazing happend… yesterday I got a chance to buy my dream amplifier, a completely rebuild onkyo m5090, its is the biggest amp onkyo EVER made with exception of the 510 but that think is impossible to get outside of japan. Man i LOVE this thing. I can’t believe i own my dream speaker and amp combo, one year ago i would not thought it to be possible but sometimes things happen for reasons we can’t understand. I will probably give this little bug a spin in my audio pc and see whats what. Thx for the great content as usual!

Hello again, well, the JB FMJ arrived and so got on with some testing. Using a HP Prodesk 400 g6, Intel i7, 16gb ram, Windows 11. From the PC, I tried usb a to micro usb 5m plugged into my JBL Quantum Duo gaming speakers. I found some improvement, cleaner, tighter bass, better, clearer vocals smoother highs and darker background. At first I had the impression I lost some air around the highs and some degree of depth but after a little more critical listening I actually thought I could live without it but prefer to have it for the tighter bass and better vocals. I then tried my newly acquired Dragonfly Red dac. I A/B tested with and without the JB running a 5m 3.5mm jack QED Profile cable from the AQ DF Red in the same speakers, the JBL Quantum Duo...and..bam, there it is! Super clean reference monitor sound literally like my old JBL 104BT speakers which I miss. With the JB in the Red it is better, again tighter punchier bass, cleaner vocals and highs, without the JB it is also very good as the Red does a great job regardless but it is cleaner with the JB. Overall impressed with both of these gadgets over the standard system and what they have done for the JBL Quantums on my desk, a solid upgrade! That's another double whammy for Audioquest! I have to say this, Audio Science Review didn't rate or even recommend the Dragonfly Red due to sonic 'measurements' but the improvement it has made to my PC speaker, JBL Quantum Duo, utterly defy that review! It has turned a mid tier gaming speaker into a nearfield contender, literally spewing details, screaming clarity with taut bass notes, clear highs and silent background, a big step up in sonic accuracy, even over my Creative Audigy FX2 soundcard with the accompanying Creative software that also rocks! So in conclusion, job well with the Audioquest JB and the AQ DragonFly Red feeding my JBL Quantum Duo speakers.
посмотрел ваше видео почитал перевод по субтитрам и решил себе тоже купить такой фильтр ! потому что слушаю только цифровые файлы с компьютера ! спасибо Вам за обзор этой вещицы !
with 6:40 / 6:53 without 5:32 / 5:46 OMG .. much cleaner ,refined , deepr sound WITH ! I am listening via D&D 8C monitors in a treated room and i know what i am hearing .. its 7-10% purer , this is not minor !
Make a difference and sound smoother , however I prefer the dynamic version, without the jitterbug. Anything who smooth things up , I don don’t like it , it ‘s mean something is been removed from the music. Removing distortion yes , removing dynamic no no for me , thanks for the video
Interesting. I lost no leading edges or dynamics at all. It did not smooth anything out, but lowered the noise floor and brought out more of the musical presentation. More relaxed maybe, but not "smoothed". I guess it depends on the device & power supply it's used on. With my MacBook Pro it was a game changer. Thanks for watching linn! 👌🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 yes through a youtube it may seem that sound is less impactful, dynamic but smoothen out. But than your commentary on that is crucial because you can hear it by ur own ears and see/hear what is happening. Because at first I was wondering yes that sound is smooth relaxed and more spreaded in space, but that smoothen sound can be just side effect of increased impedance by audioquest jit. But as i said your commentary on that is crucial cause youtube can misrepresent. So I recon your are perfectly sure that it is not just increased output impedance right? ... based on what you can hear in your living room 🙂
Anything with a USB input. Sounded great on my computer going to DAC, but terrible plugged into the back of my Electrocompaniet DAC's unused port. Results will vary.
That’s why there’s 30 day money back guarantee on most hi-fi products like you said. It won’t suit everyone because everyone’s system and ears are different. 😊 Something aside, gee the area at the back of your laptop is so dust free, what is your secret? 😆
But if you do a true a/b test and being honest, you would not be able to hear the difference. Our ears maybe different but we hearing things similarly but not perceived similarly hence placebo.
I just bought the ifi ipower and ifi DC purifier for my modem/router & Ethernet switch, based on all the positive reviews. I'm sure the usb filter will do the same as the AQ 👌🎼✨
Great vid I’m 100% behind measurements be damned how’s it sound. Would have been nice to have had a few A/Bs edited together for easier comparison but get you wanted to show the device being swapped out 👍🏻
wholeheartedly agree - if it makes a difference in your system to your ears & brain & the way music enters your heart -> it’s good. period. perhaps sometimes we get fooled a bit but very often not and never for long, we who *listen* , and in case we’d really get fooled it’s not a big thing, not a terrible conspiratorial theory we fall prey, if we really like the *sound* (!) of one usb cable better than the sound of another. and btw: the good old jitterbug in my system in most configs clearly improves SQ and musical expression adds life, and in turn emotional outcome, but depending on config it can change tonality a bit as well (lift treble, though alot cleaner, thats not always good). ifi has some usb filters that also do something very useful in terms of SQ, less air and bass impact as good old AQ JB, but more in terms of mids agility. possibly system dependent. my recommendation is to listen for longer time (coinciding with breaking in?), without expectations, w/o any desire that component A would beat B, or v.v., listen to all instruments involved, how they and music as such ebbs and flows, how it is cool & sexy or flat and uninspiring, startling or tiring, communicative or bland. after some time of neutral, open heart listening, over several days, undo the changes, listen again until a picture forms - no big deal.
That was funny vis a vis the dog crap comparison. As a dog owner I can concur one doesn't get used to the SMELL of that stuff let alone the taste--of which, I remain blissfully ignorant. Yes, burn in is real. I've experienced it with my Bob Carver mono blocks.

@@vpconcepts9838 To be honest, i think it's only going to be effective if you have a certain amount of noise or hum from the USB port form a computer. If i lived in a country where there were return policies for such devices, then i wouldn't have an issue trying it out. If i were to test it, i think the wise approach would be to carry out ABX blind tests in order to eliminate any expectation bias effect. I wish you a nice day
The difference between having the Jitterbug and not having it doesn't come across in the video. I'm sure it is significant in real life, but not through video.
@@vpconcepts9838 Yeah, I'm not sure why people are saying they hear a difference. I listened through $7000 speakers and then also through $2000 headphones. I believe they are very resolving. If there is a difference, it's very subtle and I can't hear it. It would be neat experiment if you just take those two sound clips and put it in another video and let the viewers guess which one is which. My guess is it'll be close to 50/50, or chance. Like I said, it's most likely very noticeable in real life because many aspects of sound characteristics are lost through video playback.
Hmmm, I just listened through my polk sound bar and Apple TV, and without it, its much more "edgy" sounding. With it in it's much more relaxed. However you are correct, recorded with an iPhone through youtube compression, degrades the effect no doubt! Please follow me over on instagram if you're not already, and I'll be happy to give you a follow back. Your stereo setup & headphones sound right up my alley. 👊💯🎼✨
