The Echo is an amazing little wonder. When I got mine Last year, to use it with my ZMF Verite/Aeolus and 6xx, I was blown away with the presentation too. Upgrading your power tubes was certainly a good move. If you are interested in getting a different sound signature from the power tubes in the future, you may like also the "Foton" 6n6p. However.... to my ears the real potential of the Echo is obtained when you upgrade the input tubes. The 6n1p´s included with the amp are not bad, but the qualities of the Echo are beyond the performance of those tubes. if you ever try a balanced pair of 6922/E88CC, you will be even happier with your Echo. (quieter, bigger soundstage, instrument separation and tonal balance).
@@vpconcepts9838 👍Prices have gone to the roof for good quality 6922/E88cc tubes, there are still some hidden gems in the market at "reasonable" prices like the Tungsrams and Phillips/Silvania. Those take some time to burn in, at least 40 hrs. My 2 way system is very similar to your setup. (MA8900, Sonetto III) so I believe I may guess the sound signature of your liking. My cables are not as nice as your kimbers, hopefully some day.... Kudos for your channel.
You are one lucky person! The noise you describe could be "mobile phone bleed through". I have a Tube Amp and on occasion I also get the interference. Try and make sure any mobile devices are kept away from the tubes. Happy listening.

OTL can make radical changes to sound of high resistance headphones, with my VC on solid state I was a little disappointed but after switching amps I love them
Very good decision to upgrade your HP system with such wonderfull amp, congrats! Many good staff are comming from Poland. Coinsidence or not, I own solid state HP and pre amp made in Poland ( you can see on my channel white colore one ), matches my AKG K702 just perfect. Need to try out with AUDEZE and HiFiman that my good friend owns. As for the amp. OTL amps usually dont have anything you were worry about, its all about design, used components, transformers in particular and tubes to finish that and you seem to got it all. Ive had one about a year--purchased from Upscale; nice little unit! I got an inexpensive Niles switch box that did not degrade the quality. Went that route because I run two tape units in the system. I prob should upgrade the cable and power cord which I am sure is probably monoprice and stock..lol. I agree--no noise, clinical though...prob because I use stock tubes... therefore I still prefer listening without phones. But on my off days when I am home the boy has a telecall job based at home---so then the feliks is very beneficial.

I actually wondered when you were going to get into headphones. I two tube headphone amps, one by Vincent audio, one by icon audio hp8 mkii, with a huge transformer like you have on the Felix’s and two solid state headphone amps, one by Simaudio 230hd, which does operate as a preamp and I have had a turntable hooked up to it and a Schiit stack. What is weird is the Icon Audio hp8 mkii has nearly doubled in value since I bought it, the only component that I own to have done it. I own approximately 10 pairs of headphones maybe more, from Sennheiser, Mr. Speakers, Hifiman, Meze, Focal, Audioquest, Fostex, I love my Clears. I have heard the Audeze hd3 and the Meze Emphyreans, which are simply awesome. I have a separate power conditioner just for the headphones as I have a streamer, turntable and CD player hooked up as source components, just for my headphones in another room. That splitter sounds nice and for now I use a Schiit Sys for switching when I use the tube amps and I have more inputs on the Simaudio headphone amp. Headphones are a more intimate listen and can sound as good if not better for a lower cost, but be careful as it is a slippery slope as headphones all have different characteristics and you will want to try and buy many.
So you like tape saturation distortion. Back in the day had a B 77 with Grandmaster 456 and at 15 ips sounded better to me than the album, same reason. If you like OTL's check out Transcendent Sound Kits. Their 300B based headphone/preamp is amazing. I also own a 7 watt EL 509 based, SE OTL@ 16 Ohms and a 60 watt Class AB 6C19PI based OTL. I used to build very non commercial , totally discrete, aerospace grade circuit elements, Class A MOSFET output with 4 toroids/amp, 350,000 uf double bypassed output stage Capacitance, HEXFRED, ultra high speed, soft recovery diode based rectifiers, and the generic circuit element OTLs so outclass the solid state.

@@vpconcepts9838 Thank you, upgraded fuses have always been an iffy choice for me. I've had fuses blow on me at different times in my journey and I've always found the idea hard to justify when fuses are designed for failure.
Never had one fail. You can get them just a touch higher in value, so you have a little safety net. If fuses are blowing in a setup, there is something wrong with a piece of equipment. I have not blown one ever in my setup. Thank goodness 😂🙏🏻💯🎼✨

Normally an OTL headphone amp works better with high ohm headphones, and yet this pairs really well with my 20ohm audeze LCD-XC! I upgraded the power tubes and will be upgrading the preamp tubes next. You will want to use some kind of vibration cones under these like vibrapods etc... to get it sounding more musical. Of course the source you connect this to, will also have a factor on how good things sound as well. Solid state amps are more predictable. With tubes there are more variables. When you get it right though...it's magical 👍🎼💯✨

Those are 55ohm I believe? They will work, my 20ohm planar audeze sound amazing, which is against all logic. But this has a lot of voltage to compensate. 300 ohm like my HD600 sound amazing. It will need better tubes & some experimentation with footers to make it sound top flight. I got it to sound right, but put a lot of money into it (power cord, cables, fuse). I would buy from a company that has a 30 day exchange policy, that way you can try something else in the tube realm or solid state, if it's not for you. The vibrapod footers for $25 sound nice with this. It all comes down to taste in the end. 👍🎼💯
Hey I like your videos very much keep up the good work. I myself have had Felix-audio echo for several years. I've been listening with Focal elenar headphones, which are a heavenly pair. Another headphone worth trying is the beyerdynamic T1.
