An easy fix for intermittent tail light issues on Audi A6 (C6 4F) 2005-2008

Thank you, a brilliant solution and it worked. My tail lights would stop working whilst driving. I purchased a WD 40 Specialist contact cleaner that is recommended for cleaning electrical contacts. I generously sprayed it onto the Electrical connectors. Cost only £4.99 from Halfords. Problem solved.

Thanks - very helpful. I will resist long rant about high-dollar vehicle having problems that are not issues in average cost vehicles plus repair cost at dealership is insane ie; $1200+ for water pump replacement on plastic housing Audi knows damn well was defective design.

i have the same problem but have LED. Because the plastic was cracked anyway i bought a complete new unit ! and guess what still the same problem

REAL REAL tempting to think "I'll buy LED lamps and these problems will go away" but 2 different problems. Yes, incandecent lamps do burn out but not that often if you get quality Sylvania Long Life bulbs. RATHER< this video does not say WHERE to spray, and that is, the connectors for the lamp assembly (white plastic housing with all the bulbs) once the entire red housing is disassembled (see other videos for this problem). Simply SPRAY EVERY electrical connection, including the bulb connectors (take each bulb out, replace with a new bulb if desired) and then use a screwdriver to take off the connector that connects to this white plastic housing behind the housing, once disassembled. Spray both male and female sides of the connector, and clean it off. TEST only by completely reassembling, as it was not obvious it was fixed until I COMPLETELY REASSEMBLED The entire light assembly (passenger 2008 A6)! What a surprise, it just started working!

very temporary solution. If the lamp moists, it must have a crack or bad rubber seal, , cleaning contacts is annoying , i have problem with right side blinkers contact caused by moisture inside the lamp

Sadly both of my tail lights stopped working, the left blinker works for like 5 minutes than stops, theres water inside the red housing, i cant find any replacement fillers for the side of the light. I dont know what to do with this car i cant drive at night without getting pulled over by some hungry cop
