I watched most of your video and the single most impactful take away that has improved my game is lining up the shot and taking one stroke only. I'm not sure why but it has helped me stay down on the shot with good follow through. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for that tip. I was never taught stroking more than once hurting my chances of pocketing balls. I will use this method for sure in my next league night.

Hi there! This is just a training method, so you should not play like this in a league match or so. As mentioned in the video, its for your development process only to help you realize and align your aiming, stance and stroke delivery. Of course you should and are allowed to do as many pre-strokes as you prefer during actual matches

I love Mike. And, I am so jealous that you got to have Jasmine as an instructor. She is my favorite RU-vid personality. Seems like someone you would want to shoot a few racks with (even though she would clean your clock), have a couple of liters of Pilsner with hear all the fascinating stories about her life.

Hi Steven! Thanks so much for the kind feedback! I am lucky indeed to be surrounded by so many cool and so much better players than me! Striving to be as good as them and learning from better players in general is key I guess. I learned, to not be shy playing against better ones, and losing often. Because eventually one will scrub off some knowledge and skills here and there. Enjoy your Pool

Both players and this exercise are great! One thing I noticed Mike does, because I have and still work on this same problem. Just as he is about to shoot his head moves up a little bit and sometimes his body moves up as well. I've found it helps to make sure my face is tilted up when I first get down on the shot so there is no urge to move on the final backstroke.
@pocketedyoutube
@pocketedyoutube 2 года назад
Cool you noticed this! Mike changed something on his strokes some time ago, before this, he never lifted his head! Now he does. He is aware of it, and is working on it. We left it on purpose in the video, and great you found it

I do a variation of this....I bring the cue to the end of the back stroke while standing.....so when you bend over the shot the cue is all ready at the "pause"....once the bridge hand hits the table to shoot......no adjustments can be made :)....thanks for making the video...its very well done

Mike is one serious SOB. 😅 I love it. Good video! My 2 cents is: don’t swing into the shot line from left to right. Mike did it in the first shot of the 9 ball game. Step into the shot line with your chin leading the way. You’re both better than I am. I just watch a lot of pool.

@@pocketedyoutube on the old footage, were you instructed to go down on the shot that fast?

I would buy into this, except for the fact that Efren Reyes has a pre stroking pattern that he seems to always follow. I can definitely agree don't adjust your cue angle or body stance left to right after getting down on a shot
