Noe THAT is a sane idea for proper EV usage. A small around-town cart, which allows people to get to the other side of the city and back in all sorts of weather conditions. It's practical and reasonable. No huge worries about range.
For stability these three-wheelers should have the 2 wheels in the front and the single one in the back. Otherwise there is a pretty big tip over hazard when turning corners.
Totally agree -plus it is ridiculous to expect a vehicle with such a small engine to carry 3 people - they usually have a maximum weight they can carry - and definitely only suitable on flat and won't make it up hills/slopes with 3 in it. Get outta here!
@@robyndaniels1381 I imagine that the main reason that they chose the configuration they did was because it's much cheaper to build since the steering geometry is very simple with only one wheel. I wish them the best of luck though. Lots and lots of EV start-ups in the world right now but only about 10% of them will actually survive over the next five years.
I see this as a very useful door dash and delivery vehicle in big cities like DC and New York. If it can last 8 hours before recharging, it will make a killing as a delivery vehicle in large cities.
What is needed is smaller versions of this vehicle that are only meant to be driven on the footpath /pavement/sidewalk for people with limited mobility functions. Needed urgently in Australia!!!!
stwrthnn In America it depends on speed (and engine size). 2 or 3 wheels can qualify as either a motorcycle or a scooter. Usually you have to keep it 35mph or less for it to be a scooter. And if it's registered as a scooter and you get clocked at 36, you're legally driving a motorcycle. Or illegally depending on insurance, license, tags. It can get ugly.
Robert Pruitt If state governments can tax, tag and force special requirement for fees they will. The best way to get these vehicles into wide commuter use is to belay government red tape and interference. You buy the vehicle, than haggle with state bullshit it pushes the cost up to levels associated with full size vehicle operation. Also, Green Freaks that electricity you charge that vehicle with comes from some carbon based source in most cases. And don't forget that the chemicals used in the batteries are also toxic when dumped. I could except using one and would if it wasn't for the bullshit of my state about them. So, when you add in special fees and insurance requirements it cost an extra two grand to operate. Plus don't forget access to around areas these vehicles are barred from.
Looks great. But it is unfortunate that alternative transportation is priced out of the range of many middle class people and fixed income folks. Example is the ELF electric assist is like 10K USD.
These vehicles may be laughable today, but in a few years time, the concern for human survival will make electrically powered vehicles mandatory, and all fuel driven vehicles outlawed. A similar fate awaits the huge fuel guzzling and dumping aircraft flying now, soon to be scrapped in favour of a new, revolutionary attitude towards travelling and communication.
Unfortunately I have contacted several scooter purchasers. They all gave stories of poor fit, finish, performance and warranty service. I decided NOT to buy one because of this.
I heard exactly the same. I had actually ordered 1 and was about to pay a daposit and decided to have a better look into them than just what id seen on the importers website. The reviews all said the same extreamly poor fit and finnish and poor quality everything.
Based on the website specs, looks you're pulling about 60wh/km @72v with a 60Ah LiFePO4 pack -4320wh Vehicle weight is 390kg + 70kg for an average adult male so 460kg Range 72km @ 64kph? On a good day I get between 15-16 wh/km and my loaded vehicle weight is ~150kg with a 20ah/72v pack 1440wh Range between 90-100km I think the specs might be a little optimistic
Tricycles are too unstable for my requirements of safety. Make them a little top heavy in the front, and you're asking for hurt at higher speeds. Put 2 wheels in front and one in the back, and I may consider riding around in one on public road speeds.
This puts me in mind of R. Buckminster Fuller who devised the geodesic domes. When hisc3 wheel vehicle caused some casualties, he gave up on them Can you assure stability?
that's hilarious! I'm sorry, as much as I love scooters, this really looks like the 'vehicles' that the UK state used to issue to disabled people! lol.
Its training most of the time in the UK. I would have like one. On a normal scooter you ll be wet. And in this one you can carry your shopping and all. More handy
I like the motorcycle handlebars, but agree it should be tweaked to go 55mph=90kph for the secondary highways and short "slow lane" 400 series hwy hops.
I liked it pls bring this market in india plsss....its really good in wheather conditions.....pls bring this business in india in low budget so that any one can buy
Come on........Elio....... Where the hell are you. You can still beat these wannabe. Single seater Hybrid Elio with Tesla battery and twelve gallon tank......two thousand mile range before refueling and or charging !!!!!!!!!! Totally possible......no BS. Perfect work commuter.
What are the charging requirements? Can a solar charging station be built exclusively for it? Is it highway legal? After hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, a thing like this would have been a true life saver, with solar charging. Is it possible to add additional batteries to extend range? What is the current selling price?
Absolutely. However you sacrifice carrying capacity. The front two-wheelers on market all have single seats, this has 3 seats. It would be great if you had two seats in front on in back, with two wheels in front one in back, but then the driver is off-set and you lose that stability again. Brings us back to carrying capacity. If you plan ton going fast, get the two wheels in front, get the two wheels in back for more room
This would be far more popular in Europe or India than the USA. It looks like it should be a little longer. That would make space for more batteries and power
i thought ATVs stopped being made with the one wheel in front because of roll over issues. does this seem like its going to roll over if you go fast and turn hard?
It is too tall and by the size of it, it is made for easy access for seniors. If the body was sleeker and the driver more reclined, it would be much more practical and have twice the range.
From what we gathered in the owner. The price depends on the battery pack. But yeah, we didn't list the price. You can check them out yourself on their site.
limit the power to 750 watts..give it a simple 1 speed pedal drive to make it move on human power and whammo..its an ebike ! now sell it for 1500 bucks and you will have back orders for the next 2 years !
Nonsense! A 3 wheel vehicle needs to have it's CG at the geometric center of the triangle between the wheels. Then you have completely neutral steering, neither under or over steering and can drift like in a 4-whell car if you wish. Also aerodynamics is much better with one wheel in front. By the looks of it, the driver is seated forward of the CG to counter the mass of the batteries, so I presume they've got it right.
@@LoneBrowncoat Had a discussion with my wife. Decided to rage out on the next youtube video I saw! Can't really judge road behaviour by watching a video, but having one front wheel do offer a lot of advantages.
You have a flat roof, install a solar panel. A fellow with canoe solar panelled direct to electric motor. If he can do that, you can keep charging the battery, even as you use the energy. DO NOT PUT HANDCUFFS ON SOLAR POWER. Just because people say its not possible doesn't mean it can't be done. If i had a lottery, I strongly believe I could put electric motor in it plus my idea and drive Toronto to Vancouver and back without pulling into a charging centre. But folks say it can't be done and I say I can do it. But the oil companies would pay the CIA to spray a chemical in my face to make look like I had heart attack.
Id love one of them, im disabled but the problem is in in the UK and our goverment will do an much as they can to make is so your cold and wet, all the covered mobility scooters you see in the UK look bloody ugly, that one looks fantastic.
Are these still considered mopeds cause we’re I live you are aloud to drive a moped if you don’t have a liscense if you are atleast 16 but idk if this counts as a moped
On average what's its top range (at average, 30 to 35mph) & how long does, it take, TO FULLY CHARGE ? ( on average) & Can they be exported to another country as long as that country allows it to be LEGAL there.
