For you ladies that cannot afford an $800. jacket, look for a 1940's jacket in a thrift shop. I found 2 beautifully tailored jackets with the same sort of look. (Nipped in waist and strong shoulders) And in perfect condition with beautiful buttons for about 50 dollars. 🥰

Lyd, what you are experiencing is that others do not measure up to your standards and when that happens in a vile negative way, your heart becomes leaden and it bothers you. Just keep your high standards and go on. I think you are an empath and feel deeply about others in this world. You aren't a wet blanket but you are a fleece line comforter. Don't worry my babygirl, at my age of 70, oceans of tears have been shed and you will have more crying days than you think. Not crying is the sin because there will be no feelings for another. Please please don't spray your dog's bed with purfume/essential oil spray as it's poisonous to animals. Their sense of smell is a crazy amount higher than humans too so you can imagine how awful that must be to sleep in xx

Even if it's not one of the essential oils that is toxic to dogs, dogs have a very developed sense of smell (40% of their brain power goes to sniffing!) and homey scents, like their dog beds, are super important to feeling settled calm and relaxed! Definitely skip the perfume on their bed, just pop it through the wash if it's smelling bad.

Lydia, please don't feel embarrassed about crying when having to take Lumi to the vet. I used to feel the same every time I had to take my little dog to the vet (which was very often). It's tough to do something that you know upsets them but please know that you're doing the best thing. She knows that you love her and she will forget about the vet visit in no time at all. I haven't got to the end of the video yet so I desperately hope that Lumi is ok but wanted to send you a message now as I could see how upset you were on the driveway which brought back a distinct memory when I was in the exact same position. Hugs to you and Lumi x.

Hello, that's a lovely comment, I'm sure Lydia would appreciate it. It helped me reading it as I hate taking animals to the vet! My cat gets into an absolute state of panic, she comes from an abused past and her eyes look like it's a matter of life and death. None of us are able to just hold her, she fights and I feel terrible for making her go through this, it literally gives me panic attacks seeing her like this

There isn’t a vet out there who hasn’t had experience of owners becoming emotional over their furbabies wellbeing. As you quite rightly said, it’s just an outer show of the extreme love we all have for them. Never feel embarrassed about showing your love and care of your lucky furbabies-sadly there are all too many out there who would love to be taken to the vet by a crying mum 😢

Predictable. I came on the comments as soon as I heard the words £6-700 jacket. Lydia channel is about HER life, and many many others are in a similar financial circumstance to her and Ali. Hundreds of brands everywhere have high price range and I don’t see anyone jumping at Louis Vuitton for being “out of touch” with the financial crisis. Let the girl live her fantasy, and have the target audience she desires. I am no where near Lydia’s financial gain but none the less I enjoy her lavish style, beautiful home and stylish ideas! Remember this is a young women sharing her life but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t empathise behind closed doors or do her bit. Be kind, support others. Give them the benefit of the doubt why do we always have to assume the worst or jump down throats! ❤

You are definitely not nuts Lydia. I genuinely feel better knowing there are other pet caretakers that feel the same way I do. I struggle and worry each time I take my fur babies to the vet. I cant watch any movies with animals in it for fear something may happen to them even though I do understand it is just a movie. I so love all animals; they are a gift to us.

Lydia...I am only suggesting, however, you might want to research frangrances (candles, sprays, etc.) where pets are concerned. We have 3 Persian cats in our home and take every precaution of this. I held my breath when you sprayed the sausage beds. Also, watching Lumi walk, it occurred to me that it could be arthritis? I am sure your vet checked the paw claws for infection. Our Persians are almost 16 years old. Your pets love you and Ali so and give their unconditional love. The best of everything good and happy this Christmas season.

Lydia I’m with you. Integrity is everything to me. I’m a highly sensitive person too and I genuinely receive the biggest joy from seeing people being kind to one another...even complete strangers in the supermarket...e.g. someone fetching an item off the top shelf that the other person can’t reach. Words really affect me to. When people say something so flippantly mean, it upsets me. I understand that it’s a reflection of them and their inner pain which helps me deal with it. On the other hand, words are the way to my heart too...and well written card, a hand written letter... ugh that’s all I ever need gift wise from a man who I’m dating. I work with a lady who clearly has a lot of mental health issues and childhood wounds so when she snaps, it’s hard not to soak in that energy as I’m an empath...but I have another lady in my office who is more like me and we’ve spoken about her behaviour and we support one another. We know she’s not inherently mean but honestly, if I didn’t have my colleague there who’s more like me, I don’t think I could be around her for 8 hrs, 5 days a week!

I was just going to admit the same. I cried over you crying. I have a sweet Cavapoo named Oliver. He is limping too😢. He’s gone to his vet twice now yet no real findings. We are treating him with anti-inflammatories. I don’t feel good about it at all. Prayers for our sweet babies. One more thing….what is your “PT”? Peloton Physical Therapy? I’ve been reading on it

I feel like your just projecting at the end there. You too have not been so nice in the past that is well documented so let’s not be judgemental of others who may be still in their growth phase of life. You listed off so many privileges at the end there- maybe be aware that not everyone has those and maybe that’s why life isn’t so kind to them and therefore causes those negatives outlooks they have. Lydia, I normally don't post any comment and keep my thoughts to myself however, I'll make an exception as I somehow feel strongly about this. I do wish you would stop showing Ali's projects when he asks you to, just like he is respecting your request not to show the projects you want to present. I remember last year how precious you were about Ali not showing anything on your Christmas decor to the point he was anxious not to catch a glimps of it in his camera and yet you don't seem to have the same respect for his content. Omg You shouldn't feel bad or embarrassed about getting emotional about your fur babies! I've been watching your channel for years now and I loved seeing Lumi and Lynx on your channel and being a first time kitten mum myself, vet visits are the most stress inducing things ever for both myself and my kitten; Pudding! Even this morning, Pudding started snorting for a few seconds and I almost had an asthma attack myself lol So don't feel embarrassed and it's totally normal to be emotional!

Lydia, I love the chat that you had in your car, I have never heard someone on the internet be so open about these things and it is very encouraging to hear. Also, I would say that there is no shame in being emotional, but society has made it seem (granted we are getting better but also maybe taking it too far at times) with getting emotional as a woman it can still feel like we are showing "weakness" when in reality we are caring humans, and emotions should never be the equal to being weak as it shows, as you mentioned, tremendous care. I definitely feel like there is a culture which is being produced at the moment which both wants people to be more open but is hypocritical at times to those who are too open to where others get their own feelings hurt or offense is taken, when in the reality of things there is no offense in being open about what you're feeling, we can not cater every feeling and thought to every other human of the world. Basically all of this to say, in short, I appreciate your honesty and care for caring so much about society and other humans that you took the time to bring up honor, and working hard for things even if in todays world they look at hard work and get offended that others work harder than they. But I may have taken this out of context and don't wish to put meaning to your words whatsoever. I hope that you are having a great day today, and that your life is filled with more selflessness and kindness and that those who don't show those qualities may look to you when they happen to bump into you (whether through your channel or physically on the street) as a guide in order to find joy and not bring others down.

I understand your emotion about your animals! I am a new cat mom, and I get that emotional as well, especially when they are scared. I find that, as much as I love fall, I also get very sad. Sometimes it's because of the gloomy weather times, but I also lost my father in the fall, and that is always an emotional time (he's been gone for over 30 years!). Fall is also a reminder of the circle/cycle of life. While find it to be generally hopeful and about renewal, it is a deeply reflective time for me as well. Sending hugs.

£700 for a custom tailored jacket is quite reasonable. And historically- that is the relative price point for tailored clothing with inflation. Clothing is not meant to be cheap and dispensable. Investing and planning in a quality wardrobe is a good way to create support for the local hard working tailors and also creating a timeless classic wardrobe.

I too am very sensitive usually to other peoples pain, loss, love for my family, proud moments etc I don’t have a long future ahead of me with my husband and our dogs sadly but I live each day the best I can with hope, love and gratefulness. I’m always happy for other peoples success your success it honestly feels me with joy (Hope that doesn’t sound weird 😊) I don’t really understand jealousy as it only brings unhappiness into our own lives. If you truly felt bad for Lumi you wouldn’t have sat in the car for half an hour having a rant about God knows what and would have taken her to the vets directly without prolonging her stress! It’s rather clear your crying was directed at something or someone else entirely. We have two cats and ours is really shaky and cries when we take her to the vets so try to put her in right before we need to leave not earlier,and take her to the vets as fast as possible for her to stress as less as possible.

I cry every time I take my pets to the vet when they are sick.. When I had to put down my boy "who lost his religion" I sobbed as I held him till he died. The next day before I put him in his grave I held him and sobbed some more. I am crying now. It is what makes us human beings.

There is nothing embarrassing about releasing emotions! I have both a daughter and animals and is different with kids because you can talk to them explaining that is in their own interest but with animals you can t, that's where the guilt, the strong emotions come from! I took my dog a month ago to be sprayed and I cried the whole day! I allow myself to feel it all! You are a good person, be good to yourself also! Using words like I can't cope, I am an idiot etc is not being nicer and gentle to yourself! Worrying is not changing the situation , of course you can cope, you just need to tell yourself the opposite! You have phenomenal coping skills Lydia! Tell yourself this instead!

I'm not a big fan of blazers worn on the shoulders (just a little preference), but when you wear them they look spectacular! So nicely done. Your nonno was a tailor, my pappou was a textile merchant and whenever I bought a new piece of clothing, he would always touch it and look at the textile closely. God I miss him!

I had your vlog on whilst my drunk fiance stumbled in and surprisingly watched your whole vlog with me (an unusual encounter for him to partake in my vlog watching) but i just have to share some of his insight which i thought was lovely and you'd like to hear. You are not alone Lydia - when I worked at the vets we had lots of people who cried when bringing their animals in to see us. Everyone who works in a vet hospital is used to it, so there is no need to be embarrassed. We've seen it all before, so don't worry. We would rather see people tearful with love and compassion, than act in a callous, unfeeling way towards their pet xx

Bless you Lydia , don’t question your feelings of love for Lumi, she is your family. As someone a little bit older than you, and also someone who always tries to do the right think and be kind at all times , I have realised that you meet people in life that are not like that for lots of reasons, some sadly not of their making and you can’t always rationalise their actions. I think you have to just gain a level of acceptance that people don’t always behave in a way that you would want or expect. You choose who you want in your life, who shares your values, who makes your garden grow. Those who don’t, you wish them well, you hold no grudge and you move away with no guilt x

I am so much the same. I cry at the vets , as well. The cats get me worse than the dogs, for some reason. Take care, and feel proud of who you are. These are the moments that build endurance and endurance builds character, it helps create who we are. I think that you are a great person. If you had to hide these feelings from your viewers, than your content would not be the same at all. I am 53 years old, and I have 3 daughters, whom I pray will turn out very much like you. We recently found a stray kitten with an injured arm and ringworm. The animal shelter’s vet suggested amputation. I decided to do a little research and found a vet who would come to our house and perform acupuncture. Slowly, this little kitten is gaining use of his paw back. These animals deserve to have owners who are willing to do anything for them. Lumi is lucky to be so loved ❤

You are absolutely right. Normally (some woman don’t experience it right away), the love we have for our children is a love like no other. I always say, I love my husband but I know in my core of my body, I love my children and should anything bad happen to them, a piece of me diminishes. Your heart will no longer remain in your body but in that person you birthed. It’s definitely an intense sort of love. Hard to explain sometimes. I know that not all women want children but I always encourage because once you have a child it’s like you can’t see how life was without them.

Dear Lydia, I just saw your last vlog where you went with Lumi to the vet. You admitted being vulnerable and crying when your pets aren't well. I feel you, my senior sausage lady has had serious health issues since September, she is still hanging there and I've been crying ofter. A tip for sippers that go up on the back : see if you have a very light clothinghanger: yes? Then see if the __❔️__ lus /hook of the hanger fits thru the opening of the sipper. Yes? Then put thhe dress/jumpsuit/ whatever on and take by end of hanger and pull it up A tiny long ribbon works too

I am not a pet owner BUT: I did hear about using essential oils or some specific SOS drops also for pets to calm them down. And make them feel safe. In Germany they are called „Bachblütentropfen“ 😅

Your American Artist is living in Tennessee it has the Appalachian mountains, and is very beautiful. I’m sure it is like Scotland Highlands, to many people, but it is extremely mountains. Side note Jack Danials is the best American whiskey. Makers Mark 46 & Jim Beam are the finest Kentucky Bourbons! Kentucky is the state above Tennessee, which is our biggest horse state. This is where we have the Kentucky Derby horse race. New York is where the Preakness is headed also the Belmont those are the triple Crown of horse racing in the USA so she comes from a place wherein horse racing is very big. Try not to get upset because animals pick up on that and get annoyed and afraid. If you can't handle it get someone who can handle it because there's no point in upsetting the animals. It same with children you have to be strong and not show them your fears because then they get very upset.

I completely understand and empathize with you when it comes to taking our sweet felines to the vet. I get more upset seeing animals feeling poorly than my own friends and family. How crazy is that! Hi Lydia, have you thought about doing a Trauma session about your experience when Lumi was critical ? As a therapist I know that when you have unresolved trauma, similar things like bringing her to the Vet will continue to trigger you. I usually recommend Traunatic Incident Reduction (TIR) or you can also try any of the other evidenced based trauma techniques. I can only highly recommend it😊 also love your vulnerability, we need more people be kind, caring, and take pride in their work, without being so selfish and screwing people over! Well said👍👌
