I wish people would stop associating an animals feelings and intellect as human or humanish. We aren't the only ones who can communicate. They are Gorillas communicating the way Gorillas communicate.
Yes, and it would be nice to have vines growing up the walls instead of just the cold, sterile, bare concrete enclosure. Not to criticize the zoo but it would just look much nicer for the animals and visitors.
I love the way Shabani leans on his elbows in the doorway and looks around surveying his turf. It is good to see him and Kiyomasa playing. Nene continues to be protective of her son.
This reminds me exactly of the dynamics my father and I had. He would always be the one to approach me first because I never could because of pride. We were like oil and water, but I wish he was still here with me. I sorely miss him so much, and wish I could've just held his hand longer... This was a good reminder to never forsake the moments you have with your loved ones and savor them.
My dad used me as punching bag whenever he had a bad day. 30 years later, I use him as a punching bag whenever I have a bad day. What comes around goes around.
Shabani channeling his Mr Jones to his sons: "Every time I come in the kitchen, you in the kitchen. In the goddamn refrigerator. Eatin' up all the food."
@@aj897 well I just think its a living thing, creatures show love and affection to one another regardless, or hate, living naturally causes these emotions i don’t think we could truly limit it to 1 species/type of species I just think maybe we can’t understand the others as well just yet
Shabani loves his kids but he has to show who is boss. When Shabani was looking at Kyiamasa through the window it reminded me with my siblings. We behaved when we got the look too.😂
@@JamesPeach Please, brain consumes at best 10% of calories. And we are speaking while intelectual work out. Those terminators simply transforms grass into living muscle power.
@@Moskuito2222 I looked up a video. They're able to turn most of the plants they eat into protein. While humans can only benefit from about 60%. They also eat for about 8 hours a day. Human stomachs couldn't handle that much intake even if we tried.
Fascinating how they just sit sit in one another's presence, feeling no need to fill that silence ... I'd love to have just an inkling of how they conceptualise the world around them.
@@zaytime4156just because you're an Introvert doesn't mean you have to force it onto other people. Some people actually like to talk and have normal human interaction instead of sitting like a zombie on your phone.
Gorillas make good parents and grandparents they are very smart and intelligent animals always learning something new each day from them we laugh and learn and benefit from them god bless you guys rock way to go very impressed stay safe and warm out there way to go !! Joe ❤😂😂😅😊😊😊
I don't think this is about seeing them eating together. Shabani is reading kyomasa's body language. He is acting cocky and arrogant, just like gentaro. Shabani is picking up on that and his displaying is a way of showing kyomasa who the boss is.
There intelligence and intention through their every move is amazing. & their emotional connection is breathtakingly human. They’re probably bored a lot of the time too.
Shabani definitely was the aggressor, exerting his dominance as The Silverback. Kiyo did all the right things to avoid a confrontation. All the ladies including Annie stood by in support of Kiyo and to help calm things down. Shabani loves his boy and when Kiyo started making all the "play with me" signs, he could resist. Gotta Love Shabani.
They have there moments like anyone else they are very smart and intelligent animals always learning something new each day from them god bless you guys thanks you guys rock they make good parents and grandparents love you guys thanks stay safe and warm out there way to go !!! Joe ❤❤😅😅😊😊
My handsome Shabani i love to see him running around he's such a good Soul❤ Everything and him is beautiful. Nene my old girl is still so beautiful i hope she lives a long time ❤ Annie is as sweet as Candy yesterday i watched her interacting with her favorite little fan and you can see that she has a big heart like Shabani ❤❤ This family is so beautiful ❤ Thanks to you all at the Zoo for your amazing videos ❤
Working with captive gorillas must be terrifying. When there are three or more of them together it just looks like they are planning their escape all day. Like, super familiar facial expressions and movements, yet so unpredictable 😮
So good to see them make up and playing again. I must admit that the conflicts and politics of a troop are intriguing to watch, but I really hate to see any of them get injured, like last time where Kiyo ended up with a serious injury to his hand.
The brains on these guys, we call them animals in the traditional sense but there’s so much going on behind the eyes. That silverback looked like he was pondering the depths of all existence. Considering that, I don’t think a zoo is a bad place anymore. They do their best to give them space and stimulation. Good food. They don’t seem stressed. But maybe they still dream about wide open spaces.
Zoos are a difficult concept because they can so easily and often do become abusive, but many zoos also provide amazing environment conservation efforts. For example, the California Condor would have never been able to recover from extinction if there werent individuals in zoos they could recover the population from. Hopefully, it wont come to such a drastic measure for these gorillas and all the other highly threatened apes in our world :(
I wish there were more zoos that let animals live in a closed natural habitat. Kinda like Jurassic park where they were just in huge fenced in areas. I think that would be a much better way of keeping them safe and happy. Let them have their own real trees to climb. It would be great if we had more protected national parks like Yellowstone but I think that would be the next best thing.
I LOve this family so much and so glad they are getting along cannot believe how big Kiyo is handsome like his family and so nice seeing nene by her son epic thanks so very much.
LOL, 9:48 was like him hitting his head saying "sorry dad, I don't know what I was thinkin and Shabini was like "come here son you know you still my boy!"
I wish my situation would have got resolved but it did not I had to come home crying as usual😢 so happy that Father and Son worked their problems I wondered differences
One thing I will never understand is how people think that its unbelievable that animals can show emotional intelligence, personally from what I have seen, when it comes to emotional intelligence animals are smarter than us, and that is a beautiful thing. It's a pity these guys don't have a bigger enclosure they need their space and freedom, they have imaginations and that needs to be stimulated.
Wouldn;t it be a beautiful thing to see them in a large park, free from endless human observation?.... to live a more normal kind of existence. I know they can never be returned to the wild, but at least they could be 'retired' from human view and moved to in a larger free roaming area.... that would be my dream. They look like inmates here, not primates.
What your not realizing now is the poaching. Its to the point where most animals that are being poached are close to becoming extinct. Sad just disgustingly sad.
So humans never have disagreements followed by reconciliation??? You’ve never seen that?? If you have, what animals do you bring up which should learn from humans??
I never realized how cool gorillas were until they recently showed up in my feed. I mean I’ve always known they were extremely powerful creatures but I didn’t realize how human like they are.
What started the fight between father & son? Did son challenge the Dad? The father never backed down, constantly perused the son. It’s like when human teenagers start to rebel but need to be put in their place. Time for son to go to a bachelor group!
These animals, without speaking, could easily resolve their differences, yet man, with all his knowledge and intelligence, still fight serious wars to destroy one another.
Gorillas have no true concept of greed and selfishness. They’re very peaceful creatures. Look at Chimpanzees. You begging to understand that as we understand morality more, we end up choosing the bad options.
I don’t agree with keeping animals in captivity, but if for their own safety couldn’t you at least have a more natural environment. Its like a concrete prison. Some greenery and trees would good for them
This lady is probably the only edomite in the comments with some sense giving the fact that all her people do is put others in captivity. But they'll all be judged🕎🙏🏾
They have feelings and emotions and there moments like anyone else right they are very smart and intelligent animals always learning something new each day from the gorillas thanks they make good parents and grandparents and uncles and aunties i feel same exact way we laugh and learn and benefit from them stay safe and warm out there i will buy them lunch or dinner my treat love you guys thanks !!! Joe
Their emotional intelligence is very impressive. It's not about who can beat who but more about respect. They actually care about resentment etc and try to fix the problem in other ways. Very different from chimps.
@highflybirdy851 Mate I didn´t studied Gorillas to extend that I would give You whole presentation. But I can humbly say, the way You see in this video how they non-verbally but clearly communicated. They show frustration non-verbally and it´s clear sign of inteligent behaviour. They are fully present in their bodies and minds. They don´t yell, atleast in this video at each other while there is building tension like most humans do. So it´s really Inspiring, how they move, and how they are approaching that space and situations. Completely differently, but it is their way of nature. That Gorilla father was caring for it´s children, doesn´t want them to hurt, but there was some sort of conflict, but it ended in happy interaction. Plus every aspect of nature as we all are part of. Is potential always to learn more also about our- selves. For example I give You : The airplanes has construction of wings like eagle does. It is exactly blue-printed, learned from Them. Because they are absolutely respected for their speed, aerodynamics, sharp instincts. Absolutely staggering. So obviously people who knows this, has taken this to engineering. it is absolutely working. Less turbulance More Energy saving Better Aerodynamics. More Safety for Us. You can find theese on internet if you want proof.
After seeing the gorilla habitat in Atlanta,i can't help but feel so sorry for these guys in their Timmy ltiny bare bones confinement. No wonder there is so much stress....
I will take them out to lunch or dinner and treat them we laugh and learn and benefit from the gorillas thanks they are very smart and intelligent animals always learning something new each day from them they make good parents and grandparents and uncles and aunties they have feelings and emotions and there moments like any family right stay safe and warm out let them work out there difference you bright and smart and intelligent animals thanks i feed the same exact way also !!! Joe
That is a very theatrical gibbon at that zoo. When I first heard that, it scared me. I kept wondering why some man was screaming. 😂 I think there's videos of this same gibbon on here. I'm convinced he likes theatricality and entertainment. ❤
@@sparklingsugartitsSomeone on here was gracious enough to introduce me to the Gibbon in the background. Like you I thought someone was in distress. It’s the funniest thing 😂.
I feel like nene makes alot of the situations more than what they are...also i think that AI doesn't react to shabani as a wife because of nene..maybe the zoo should find another mate for shanani and move nene and AI together...
Putting a mother and daughter in the same group is a bad idea anyway. Same goes for sisters. Neither one seems to work. Just bad decision making from the beginning.
Shaban probably was intimate with Ai one time about 10 years ago. Also, Shabani stopped banging Nene around 2018. Shabani is the best father & troop leader. Finding Shabani a real wife should be this zoo's top priority!
This reminds me a lot of my father and I. Once I was minding my own business and he ran outside naked and attacked me. He beat the crap out of me for 10 minutes before the zookeepers finally shot him with the tranq gun. My dad would get so pissed when I would eat his lettuce, and honestly, it isn't good enough to fight over. On the other hand a banana?
We could learn so much from animals, Shabani is a wonderful example of how to keep your teenagers in check with loving guidelines. It hurts me when a human really is a nasty soul and other people call them an animal. That's wrong, we're insulting animals, the correct word should be monsters for evil people. ♥️🇬🇧♥️
Humans as a species and collectively are better than animals. A human who displays animalistic behavior should be labeled as such. Also, even if what you are saying were to be true, animals don’t care if we “insult” them because they do not have the cognitive ability to comprehend slurs and comparisons.
@@petemunoz7641 take a chill pill, it's my opinion and we all have a right to that being humans? I prefer animals to alot of human beings. I also don't agree with the animalistic behaviour part of your comment as humans who murder or are paedophiles are monsters, not animals. And I'm not stupid enough to think that animals know we're insulting them with words.
10:23 I find this moment interesting. I'm trying to get ready to knock my head while looking at Shabani's face, but when Nene comes out, I scratch my head.
Imagine what it must be like for that group or gorillas… exactly like a big brother episode, but FOR LIFE… if there is conflict, no choice but to face and deal with it. Must be devastating on the soul…
Oh come on. Without these magnificent beasts in contained environments there may not be a chance to ever see a Silverback Gorilla. They are fascinating .I'd not to see them in this format but I feel it is saving their existence.
Well we use toilet paper because our butt cheeks are big and block our butt hole from being exposed Thus the need to wipe our butts. Also gorillas don’t care if they have poo in their butts.
I truly hope that they dont allow Shabani's great genetics go to waste. He needs more offspring. More lineage for this great silverback. I love Kiyo and Annie, but they'rr his only ones. You know when they're playing. Some of the video narratives are for drama so viewers will watch.
💯I really hope Shabani has a chance for more children. He’s a great dad, wonderful genetics as you say, and I think he will be crushed when his present children mature and leave the family nest. I feel like Shabani’s zest for life comes from his children and he will be very unhappy without a little one in his troop. Hope he can somehow have another baby or two soon! 🦍♥️
@@gorillabff1003 Shabani's father had many offspring. I wish the same for Shabani as well. I've followed many of the well known gorilla's lineages for many years and it seems that many of the old schoolers like Shabani's father had 2-3 mates. They reproduced more, it seems. Shabani has multiple half siblings. It seems with the current gorilla silverbacks, ages 21-30, they only have 2 offspring each. Of course they're still young in gorilla years, like Shabani, but Nene is older and probably won't reproduce again. It's usually between ages 21-25 before the silverbacks have their 1st offspring. I give Nene and AI props as well because gorilla mamas are just as important.
