@@whitehouseonthehill heading to dury duty from Whyalla to Pt Augusta in South Oz near a bridge an adult walked onto the road. I came to a stop from 110 km to zero. They can be silly but it just stood me down. 😂. About a foot above my car. I opted to drive off rather then lecture it on road rules. Technically it has right of way being a pedestrian ;)

@@whitehouseonthehill I think you would need a saddle and a bridle and 2 or 3 big guys to help hold her. But then she may be calm enough. You could be an entry in the parade :-)

It is funny how kids were like omg God look at the emu.... And adults are like is it chicken, ostrich or a dog!!! No adults it is a baby camel!

Back in days I had chickens upto 20, 10 pigeons, 2 ducks, doves, finches, and cats but from last 9 years I am moving from one country to another for work and studies. But your videos keep on inspiring me to have them again. Soon insha Allah I will have animals again in my life!

It seems like they have the calmest farm animals I have ever seen. I have noticed this and wondered why that is? Because not every one of them is raised in the house.

@Wolfeee_ No one would ever say, "WoW, what a Tamed Emu". Tamed describes an ACTION. The Emu has been Tamed. Tame can be used as both, a Verb and an Adjective. The Emu is very Tame. Like I said. BOTH depending on verbage used in a given sentence are correct.

@Wolfeee_ Also, I don't care what dictionary you're reading from. Tame has NOTHING to do with whether an animal is afraid of humans. NOTHING. Being Tame means it has LEARNED a set of behaviors that a human wanted it to learn while bonding with it to ensure domestication. Period.

St. Jo! I'm originally from the KC metro area and had family in the St Jo area. It's always fun getting to see other homesteaders near me now in GA and around the Kansas and Missouri areas where I lived and frequented up until a few years ago. Thank you for getting the word out there about farm animals to the people who live in the city!

I would love to see you take bamboo to hospitals, hospices or nursing homes to bring some joy to people's day ~ she seems so calm and well behaved around people :)

Chloe that’s not aloud. You don’t know if it can give them bird flu. Plus they make animals do special test & medical exams to make sure they don’t carry anything to make the person sick or carry anything. After that the animal need an ID & more paper work done. I’ve worked in hospital for a couple of year and I have people bring there pets with them so I would have to tell them to leave. Only service dogs are aloud & survive dogs go through a medical exam so it’s ok for them to be in hospitals. They been tested to see if they have any illness there whole life.

The looks on peoples faces are priceless I giggled till I had tears in my eyes. Just the idea you had to take her on a harness to a Saint Patrick's Day parade. Not something you see everyday. Bamboo is such a good natured bird. I love birds of all kinds. I have had two parrots for over 25 years now and they are characters. Just love watching your everyday life with your menagerie of animals. I grew up on a small horse farm with chicks and ducks cats and dogs. No kill farm that is couldn't let my dad kill anything. I miss that so much. I'm too old to have that now. Watching you helps fill that void. Thanks.

It will be neat to see bamboos personality grow when the baby emus hatch and the hooman baby arrives. Right now she is growing and learning along with the family. It's very fun to see how her temperament and views are molded by being part of the human world. in the wild I don't think an emu would be so vocal and carefree. I love how she runs and plays with the boys. It's fantastic! She has her flock. Her hooman flock.

Aww wow! That was so sweet how all those people in the parade were amazed by Bamboo! Happy St Paddy’s day. It must be an American thing to throw beads and sweets/candy at parades, because I have never seen that happen at any parade in N. Ireland, and I’ve been to many!!! I can’t speak for the Republic of Ireland, as I have never been to a parade there, but I can’t imagine that they would be any different to ours, in the North. Anyway, it looks like a fun day for all. 😀

I loved the video. I have to admit did I sync my favorite saying was watching the emu Chase your son around the yard playing. It looks like they have formed a bond and it's pretty cool.
