In one of the episodes, as I recall, one of the guards says to two little girls that they can’t send children into jail, but since m’boy Varian isn’t really an adult yet and would still be considered a child, he is not supposed to be in jail like bro. And yeah, what he did was extreme but cmon, he’s just a kid.
If you think about it, Varian isn't evil. He's been left to grieve alone, and everyone is making things worse for him. Rapunzel never checked on him after the storm, and she even hugged her parents in front of him. He refuses to forgive her or let anybody comfort him because he doesn't want to be hurt the same way again. By the way The Little Prince is an amazing movie and it made me cry so much! (Referring to the song)
Well no one really tried to comfort him anyway Except Ruddiger he is the only one putting any real effort a Raccoon is the only one to really care about him
Roxie Entertainment yeah!! I feel so sorry for him, I can’t wait to see where we go with this next season! And yesss little prince is so GOOD there’s a lot of places in it that I want to cry in bc it’s so heartfelt
I think that Varian was never evil- he just wanted Rapunzel to help him. He begged her, and was thrown out into a storm that was so bad that they had to evacuate. Then, she didn't even go and check on him, when she knew that his dad was dying. Everyone was afraid of him remember how he was introduced?), and Rapunzel was the first person to be nice to him and support his alchemy. He thought that she was the only one who could save his dad, and he waited for MONTHS for her to help him. He had to fill that time in some way, so he would do what he knew best- alchemy. Nothing worked, so he thought that he had to get Rapunzel's help. He didn't want to hurt anyone, remember his cookies? He could have just used the personality potion instead of taking time to modify a truth serum. He could have easily killed the guards (or just made them sick), he worked with a ton of toxic substances. He knew that Rapunzel could kill the automaton, and he left the panel open on purpose. (The panel is how they defeated the robot, but the automatons protecting Old Corona didn't have an open panel. He didn't have time that day to cover all of the panels, so it must have been left open on purpose). He kidnapped the queen so that Rapunzel would help him. If, at any point, she had taken a day to go over and help him, he wouldn't have done anything. He was 14, and grieving, left alone by his only 'friends' for months. He must have thought that they hated him. The only time he tried to hurt someone was at the end, when it set in that he probably wasn't going to get his father out. Imagine it from his eyes, watching Rapunzel get her happily ever after: She got both of her parents, while Varian had failed his father. She had friends, while Varian was feared. She was praised for her art, while people hated him for his alchemy. He had worked so hard to learn what he did, he had tried to use his skill to help, and Corona hated him for it. He thought that no one could, or would, understand him. So he snapped. He tried to take away Rapunzel's parent and friend, so that she would understand. "I won't stop until you feel the same PAIN and AGONY as I have!" And, that's my rant :P
@@runei2061 Disney did the best character and best Disney princess in the series dirty. That gave Varian a crappy life and made Raps out of character just so they could keep the series going. I wish they made a whole episode or maybe even more so Rapunzel can learn from her flaws. Disney left a lot of things uncovered. Almost like they were so sick of brainstorming ideas they put the show in the hands of the fandom so the fandom comes with canon
man, I just realized that King Fredrick said he was gonna get Varian "the help he needs", but instead he locked the poor troubled kid up in jail. just thinking of that poor Kid in prison makes me so sad. and I understand that Varian is dangerous and all, but did they really have to put the kid in the same cell as Saporian terrorists!?. I mean, come on. anyways, great animatic. it really got me emotional. keep up the good work.
Varian's story is quite possibly one of the saddest in the history of fiction. I'm WONDERFULLY relieved that he was able to restart and live again, but just to think about all those weeks after the storm and accident that he spent hiding alone in his house with his frozen father, being labeled dangerous before he ever did anything villainous, trying over and over to free Quirin but failing repeatedly, his home being watched by silent masked men... He'd practically lost his mind by the end of the first season. And then the king says he'll help him, but instead throws him, a 14-year-old kid, into the same prison cell as a Siporian terrorist, who ends up manipulating and using him. Yes, Varian did terrible things while he was a villain, but ultimately it wasn't his fault. He'd only been experimenting with the rocks in the first place because he was trying to help save his kingdom, and his father was denying him a well-deserved right to know what exactly they were and why he should stay away from them. When he begged Rapunzel for help, Nigel basically had him thrown back out into a deadly storm without even an escort, and spread rumors to Corona that he was dangerous. From the beginning, it truly wasn't his fault. However, I'm glad in Season 3 that he was redeemed and REALLY helped, and eventually became a well-known, respected, and admired Coronan. He had the happy ending he deserved, even if it was a rough road.
my heart, LITERALLY, stopped for a second, when you switched the moment where Varian lies on the floor in the laboratory , ON imprison, my God, at that moment I had a tear..
Something I just noticed. When we transition from Varian’s lab to his jail cell, you can see his googles and apron are gone. Paying attention to the small details, now that's dedication.
I never really saw Varian as a villain, just a kid left to grieve alone. He was left in his house alone trapped there because he was seen as a threat by the kingdom after rumors spread that he attacked raps. He begged and pleaded for help only to be cast aside. I think raps just straight up forgot about him tbh because she never even went to check on him and see if he’s alright. He was trapped in his house with his dad frozen in amber. That had to do a number on his mental state. The king also stated that he would get Varian help. Clearly he was just thrown in jail. I kinda wish they would’ve addressed this with raps or Eugene and him talking.
the first time on tumblr made me cry, the second made teard up and now, still it's breaks my heart. every time that i see this it remind me what varian went through and and still feeling sorrow for him, but still you did an amazing job lurarcrown i love it!!
sorry about the tears haha, but thank you so much! I LOVE to explore the sadness of his lonely "one-person-vs-the-world" situation right now, so this was SUPER fun to make~~
This is the most sad, most beautiful, most heartbreaking thing I have seen in a long time The art, the song, the idea, the camera angles, the switch between his lab and the jail cell... It's all so perfect! Thank you so much, you did a excellent job, and PLEASE keep up the fantastic work!
This is actually amazing! You are wonderful. Please more. Like so much more. This is so underapreciated honestly. (Especially aftermath of his mistakes) cause oml this is wondrous.
it's 3 days before the shows finale. and i'm here watching this and crying at 4am X,D. anyway, this is by far my favorite Tangled Animatic on RU-vid. it's beautifully drawn, and shows the struggles Varian had to go through after his dad was encased in the Amber. the poor kid was living all alone, trying so hard to figure out how to free his father, and failing. meanwhile he thinks about all the things he's done wrong in the past, and the worry and stress he put on his dad with his reckless inventions and actions. and in the end... in his fear and anger... Varian makes bad decisions... that end up sending him to jail. it's a absolutely heartbreaking story, and you tell it so well in this Animatic. Amazing job!
Honestly the series makes me hate Rapunzel because she chose a thing she can to later over something that was going to cause major problems in the future, if she just helped varion when he asked her there wouldn't be a problem
Varian want’s justice but corona won’t give it to him, idk why but it’s really ridicules, why didn’t Eugene got to jail even if he’s. The princess lover he did bad things and he’s an adult but varian?NO A KID WOTHOUT A MOM WHO WANTS HIS JUSTICE AND THE KINGDOM WON’T GIVE HIM DESERVES JAIL bruh...
