If you think about it, nagash and sigmar truly are two sides of the same coin. They are both massively arrogant, stubborn and have both changed the realms as much as chaos. The stormcast are the same as the nighthaunt as well. Souls ripped away from a promised after life because a powerful personality deemed it so, and whatever that soul is transformed into is cursed to an horrific existence. Both are bound to that God whether they like it or not, the only difference is nagash doesn't hide it behind a facade.

Hey Doug~ Just a few specifications from a Nighthaunt Player : the original goal of the necroqwake was not to raise the dead but to annihilate all life in the Mortal Realms. But the Skaven took away some gravesand panels from the great black pyramid and changed the spell. And instead of killing everyone, Nagash sent out a massive wave of death-magic and raise up millions of spirits and corpses all over the realms~

Could a vampire lord and nighthaunt go against and destroy Nagash? What would happen if Nagash was defeated?

I could be wrong but the ghosts are all specifically people who don't get to go to their respective heavens? They're the sinners barred entry to Shyish and doomed to for the souls to fade away - or now be brought back by the power of the necroquake? It's not all people who die that become ghosts, it's those who died who's souls couldn't move on.

I Like the concept of punishment. I would make a nighthaunt Character, that was a sadistic criminal in live, and now in death, a Headhunter who hunts the criminals and nagashs enemys in shyish.

I actually came up with a setra resurgence because of this, setra found himself at the shores of sheish and he was baffled bye what he saw, no golden land, no honorable greeting, only darkness and that usurper nagash. In pain and denial, setra used the only thing he had, his will. He bent the sands, the sky and the waters themselves in time to make his golden realm,,, but in the process became something more "the gods may have died, but I still remain Setra the imperishable, setra king of nehekara, setra the unbroken, setra the god king." He formed a realm of his own of gold and light, khemeir, the realm of power and honor. Setra becoming a God just makes sense to me.
