The Finnish Aviation Museum is an exciting visiting spot for children as well as adults. It is located in Aviapolis in Vanta city. The museum displays a beautiful collection of aircrafts and stuffs related to the history of Finnish aviation. The museum also has a shop for aviation themed souvenirs and a cozy cafeteria. There is small play area for children, where they can enjoy a small plane ride.
During the whole trip, I kept thinking what a treasure this place is for those who are simply fascinated with flying and aviation, from the ones who already have years of experience in this field to the ones who aspire to become a part of it!
One interesting thing we noticed here is there are Swastika marks on the aircrafts displayed in the museum. Like many others, it made us curious if there is a link with the Nazi swastika and then we tired to find some information on the internet.

Business insider has an article about it where it quotes, Kai Mecklin, the museum director and a former pilot in the Finnish Air Force. He says, "Our swastika has nothing to do with the Nazi swastika. The Finnish Air Force adopted the swastika as its logo long before Hitler and Nazis did. While the practice of putting Swastikas on its aircraft ended decades ago, it is still easy enough to find swastikas on Finnish airforce shoulder badges and at the Finnish Air Force Academy. For us the swastika is a symbol of freedom and independence!"
